  • In this episode, I have a conversation with Mike Wallach. Mike lives in Edmonds with his wife and 4 young children. He’s a Behavior Analyst and he loves to share positive, practical, and effective tools with parents to improve every member of the family’s experience. Through his work he has broke down the specific actions we can take (and avoid) to create a happier household
like, siblings who care about each other, minimal frustration for everyone, and how to create lasting, healthy relationships.

We chat about how parenting is exhausting with or without effective strategies, but with more purposeful strategies...parenting becomes more rewarding and less defeating. The insights and strategies he shares are from what he calls the RIGHT approach, which is an acronym he explains throughout, and the strategies actually WORK to drive a closer connection with your children. This conversation was a lot of fun, and I hope it will be for you as well.

  • In the episode, I have a conversation with Drew Tupper. He is an author, life coach, husband, and father of two. He has dedicated his life to seeking truth and creating purpose.

He practices these intentions by examining and analyzing questions such as:

    Why are we here?

    How should we live?

    What matters?

And how can we BE so that our lives are an outward projection of our being?

He has overcome struggle and knows what it feels like to feel stuck, angry, and lost. His life is a testament to the adage that growth is not always a straightforward path, but that it is always a worthwhile pursuit. In his words, he “found liberation in loving himself unconditionally,” which “allows him to create his life, rather than react.” Now, this is what helps his clients do.

During this conversation, we talk about shame and how it affects us, and how to validate and separate yourself from emotions so that you don't cultivate co-dependency, we also touch on the topics of the masculine and feminine within a relationship dynamic and so much more. Enjoy!

The link to his book and other ways you can connect with Drew is in the show notes below. :)

  • The Myth Of Calm With Carly Soare

In this episode, I have a conversation with Carly Soare. This was such a candid, fun conversation that debunks the Myth of Calm. We talk about what it is, why it's harmful, and what we can do about it.

Carly is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Executive Function Coach. She developed the Authentic Emotional Regulation program for parents who are looking to cultivate a closer connection with their child, (and themselves!), even in the midst of meltdowns and challenging moments. Through her Parenting With Intention coaching sessions, Carly merges her comprehensive understanding of child learning development with real-life parenting experience. As a mom of two deeply-feeling and enthusiastic children (currently ages 4 & 6), she brings compassionate understanding and immediately applicable ideas to each session.

We also chatted about "Authentic Emotional Regulation”, what it is and why it's important for cultivating a closer connection with your child & what does putting on your own oxygen mask even mean and how can we as parents do this? To connect with Carly, find her on Instagram @parenting_with_intention or connect with her here www.learningwithintention.com.
