As a former correctional officer in Alberta for almost 2 decades and the founder of Blue Line Fitness Testing which provides law enforcement fitness testing and wellness workshops, I started this podcast as a way for female first responders to be able to share their stories including the trials, tribulations and triumphs of their daily work. Our episodes cover female correctional officers and caseworkers, military personnel, female paramedics, firefighters and dispatchers, as well as feature female Edmonton Police Service officers, drug dog handlers and female tactical team members. I want to showcase the unique perspectives, skill sets and personalities that women bring to a first responder career and work to encourage more women to apply for these careers and step up to learn more about what we do.

The team at Building Momentum has done a LOT of different things over the past few years: We created 34 different prototypes during the height of the Pandemic, We built an entire community education platform, We taught over 3000 active duty service members in ALL branches of the military, and, we made a podcast. We went out and searched for some of the most interesting people we knew and invited them on to talk with us. We laughed, we cried, we made something special that we were excited to share with the world...
We recorded the bulk of these conversations in the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022. A lot has changed since then, my children are older, I'm older, and our company has grown in so many ways.
I’m Allen Brooks, this is Build Mo, and this is our podcast, Breadcrumbs
I'm the Chief Storytelling Officer at Building Momentum and we are a creative problem solving agency. Build Mo does so many things, building amazing tech, designing solutions to the biggest problems we come across, and teaching problem solving to Kids, Grownups, Executives, Service-Members - and much like the people we talk to on Breadcrumbs, we aren't just one thing and we wanted a show that reflects our far reaching interests.
At Building Momentum we love just siting down with people and asking them to tell us a bit of their story. This is where the most important connections come for us. It's the first step in working together, is learning about who our clients are, and where they come from. Sometimes we end up working with them for a long time, and sometimes we find a lifelong friend. However it ends, it always starts by sitting down and talking. So it made sense that this show would be built on that same model.
We thought a podcast would be an ideal platform to have these conversations and celebrate those who are following their true north. So join us for the release of this new and exciting podcast! Let’s break some bread together. -
This is a podcast about making changes in all areas of your life, even when you don’t know where to start. This is the antidote to your Sunday scaries. It bucks cultural standards that can leave you burned out and broken. It’s not about activating a Plan B or a career pivot; both of those terms indicate abandoning how you started. No, this is about continuing on your path and using all of your experiences to make a shift your future self will thank you for. Each episode includes a different example of what navigating your NEXT could look like. So get comfy…we’re on this journey together!

Everyone has a story to tell. Even robots. Have you ever wondered about the lives behind the people who provide the soundtrack to your life? Probably not. Did you even realise they ARE real people? Perhaps. Did you know that two of the voices on the London Underground are a married couple who work together all day long, even though one of them is dead? Did you know that the voice in your SatNav has a broken heart? Did you know that the calm, reassuring voice that accompanies your daily life has had a life punctuated by tragedy? Tales from the Tannoy tells the true life stories behind the voices you hear every day.
