With J3 Toyama still alive in the Levain Cup, and taking on Sapporo in the 1st Leg of the Play-Off Round this midweek, we've decided to put out Mike Innes' 'J-Talk: Short Corner' as a standalone pod again this time!
After a quick intro from Jon (to preview J2 Nagasaki's Levain Cup tie against Niigata the same evening), Mike takes his usual forensic look at the weekend's J3 action.
Mike then turns his attentions to Toyama's midweek date with destiny, and previews all of the upcoming weekend action in J3 (Round 16).
Hope everyone enjoys the mini-pod, and the midweek football - a J2-focused JTET is coming later this week as usual!
-
Fashionably late again this week (apologies, it's Jon's fault!), the JTET team are back in town with all the J2 and J3 news that you need to know about.
Scheduling constraints mean that Jon and James had to record separately this time, so in Part 1 (Start to 11:00) Jon looks back at the recent Levain Cup games that had a J2 participant, along with the four J2 games that were played last Saturday (and names his personal MBP for Round 17).
In Part 2 (11:00 to 17:20), James steps in to review the six J2 games from last Sunday, chooses his own MBP for the round, and looks ahead to this weekend's Round 18 fixtures. After all the J2 action, as ever Mike 'The Magic' Innes is on hand to guide you through a busy few days from a J3 perspective in 'J-Talk: Short Corner' (17:20 to Finish). Mike covers the J3-centric ties from the Levain Cup, reviews all of the relevant Emperor's Cup Round 1 action, and previews this weekend's slate of J3 matches (Round 15 of the third-tier season).
Sorry for keeping everyone waiting this week, and enjoy the show!

In this week's episode Stuart Woodward joins Jonny and Ben to chat about the disappointment of Yokohama F.Marinos stumbling at the final hurdle in the Asian Champions League, as they lost 5-1 to Al Ain in the second leg, and went down 6-3 on aggregate (to 31:23).
Then in Part 2 your co-hosts round up a ripping midweek set of Levain Cup ties, and chat briefly about the latest Japan National Team squad (to 51:55), before moving on to the weekend's J1 Matchday 16, beginning with the results for the top four (to 1:18:50), then running through the other five games.
-
Screamingly late this week (apologies!), Jon Steele presents a solo review of all of last weekend's J2 action (Round 16) in a 17-minute mini-pod.As well as reviewing the on-field action, Jon picks a 'Most Bravo Player' (14:00 to 15:00), and previews all of the upcoming Round 17 matches (15:00 to Finish). The sound quality of this week's episode is noticeably worse than usual, so apologies for that too - not sure exactly what the issue is, but we'll try to get it sorted for future pods!
-
Jonny and Ben dive right into their round-up of the weekend's J1 Matchday 15 with Machida's big home win over Tokyo Verdy and Kashima's home triumph over champions Kobe (to 13:50), before running through the other eight games, linking in results from Matchday 14 played in midweek where appropriate.
We finish the episode with a look at what's coming up in the Japanese game, including Yokohama F.Marinos' trip to the UAE for the 2nd Leg of the ACL Final.
