It's safe to say that we're beginning to feel the price increase in today's video games. But is it validated? $60 has been the reigning standard for video game price since the 7th generation. And entering the 9th, we felt the sudden increase to $70. So we ask, are we still gonna be willing to pay that much? Well we did a bit of research, and it appears that we always have.

Final Fantasy VII turns 25 this year, and perfect timing to announce the much awaited FFVII Rebirth. Crisis Core gets an unexpected remaster which will be suitable for those yet to experience Zach's heroic story. Starfield is very ambitious, almost to a dangerous amount. With thousands of plant-sized maps for you to explore, this will surely be a game changer to gaming. But, knowing Bethesda, having only a few and minor bugs would be a miracle. And Capcom releases more details about their upcoming line-up of games such as Resident Evil 4, Street FIghter 6, and Dragon's Dogma 2. -
Endure and Survive.
Experience one of the greatest games of all time rebuilt for the PS5. Changes in face animation, gameplay, and accessibility will surely be enough hype for us to play thru Joel and Ellie's adventure to Utah once more. Xbox is ready to unload on the competition with their upcoming game showcase. With the newly acquired studios now in the bag, this showcase will surely be a sight to behold (we saw it already). Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is also getting a remake. It surely is the perfect time for those who haven't played the original to play this acclaimed series. -

Capcom should've ended its reveal trailer for Resident Evil 4 with that line to blow gamer's minds all over the world. Wasted opportunity, but still, the hype is here, and we are all ready for it. No more Nintendo-owned music on Youtube anymore. Nintendo has put out a series of strikes for any Youtube content that has any kind of Nintendo music on them, why? We don't know. And what will we see in Xbox's Showcase later this month? Only time will tell. -
More Final Fantasy XVI updates have arrived, but is there still hype?
Naoki Yoshia, FFXVI Director has psoted udpates regarding the status of the game, saying that it's in its final stages of development, and that he aims to bring back the enthusiasm that people have on the franchise. Xbox services were down for 12 hours as their Digital Right Management department experienced issues, giving way to the community asking Xbox to tighten up their security to prevent further disruptions on their online services. Square Enix has surrendered it's western studios, namely, Crystal Dynamics, Edios, and SE Montreal to Embracer group at a value of $300 million. With rumors that Sony might be acquiring Square Enix, was this a part of the deal? -

2 PlayStation games snagged big awards at the BAFTAs,
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart wins Best in Technical Achievement and Animation, while Returnal wins the ultimate prize for Best Game, along with Best in Audio Achievement and Music. Fortunately Will Smith wasn't there to slap anyone. -

The 20th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts concludes with the announcement of the 4th installment of the main series. The announcement also came along with 2 new mobile games, but seriously, everyone will be talking about the last reveal. -
PlayStation Plus is getting beefed up.
Sony has announced the reconstruction of their online service, namely with PS Plus and PS Now. Sony will be introducing tiers to their PS Plus services, that will combine the fucnction of both PS Plus and PS Now. With it taking effect this June, is it enough of a power move to sway the gaming service juggernaut that is Xbox Game Pass? E3 is a no go once again this year, with no clear reason why. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced that they would rather turn their attention to next year as they will be introducing a new format for the show. Gran Turismo 7 did an oopsie recently as online services ruined the UX for the game by literally not letting the player play the game. -
Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony has pulled out all business operations in Russia.
With the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Big 3 has stood in solidarity with Ukraine by sanctioning Russia of their products. While this affects the economy of Russia, the biggest losers, are still the gamers of Russia. Pokémon will be launching its 9th generation with Scarlet and Violet. Slated to be released late this year, and still riding with the success of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Nintendo is looking secured for next year. Playstation's latest State of Play is concentrated on catering its Japanese audience, but still, it was kind of a lackluster showcase. And Halo Infinite will be launching its MP Season 2 this May 3 with the title "Lone Wolves". With more maps, modes, and the much awaited Co-op and Forge. -

PSVR 2's headset design has been revealed with the promised single wire setup, which will surely lessen the risk of you tripping over. And Will CD Projekt Red finally have their redemption arc with the release of Cyberpunk 2077's next-gen patch? -
Sony: Destroys artistic expressions?
For the developers of "Martha is Dead", they certainly are. For something as big as Sony to censor a small Italian indie studio, is just overkill. In Sony's defense, some scenes were just too disturbing to print. Although, Mortal Kombat says "hi". Nintendo's first direct of the year starts with a bang, with announcements like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, and Splatoon 3. It shows that Nintendo is still the sleeping giant that is to be feared by PlayStation and Xbox. And will we be finally getting the much awaited Resident Evil 4 remake soon? -
Sony answers with a quick jab at Microsoft,
Bungie, the team who created the Halo series is now under the PlayStation Studios family with a $3.6 billion deal. PlayStation assures that they will not be disrupting the culture established within the team, and makes sure that games will still be multi platform. Paramount+ premieres a new trailer for the Halo TV series, and even though Cortana looks weird, Master Chief certainly looks like a boss. And Pokémon: Legends of Arceus proves us wrong by actually be looking like a different Pokémon experience. -

With Xbox's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, their first-party studio roster has ballooned to 32 Studios. This had a massive shock in the industry as Sony's Market Value dropped by $20 billion soon after news of the acquisition. Tifa Lockhart interrupts the Italian Senate as footage of her in an "inappropriate" video was shared on screen, good marketing for FFVII in our opinion. And Dreams will be used to power an upcoming film by Sony Pictures Classics named "A Winter's Journey". -

The Switch has officialy beat the Wii in sales as the Switch has now exceeded Wii's sales record of 101.63 million units. Only time will tell when the switch will cross its next hurdle, The PlayStation. And will Final Fantasy main titles now be exclusive to PlayStation? Rumor suggests that they will be. -
Start 2022 with a big news for FFXVI,
though its bad news. FFXVI has been delayed for half a year according to Director Yoshi P. Citing delays in assets from outsources and the ongoing challenges of the pandemic as the main reasons. Though we may be getting big news this spring so make sure the wait for that.
