  • I love celebrating those moments when it’s so clear that God answered my prayers. Whether it’s the job offer arriving at the perfect time, a loved one’s health turning around, or that “just when I needed it” phone call from a friend. Those "yes" moments are incredible. But, as much as I cherish those times, they aren’t the full picture. Not by a long shot.

There have been plenty of times when God’s answers seemed more like a "no," or worse, silence. What do we do when our prayers linger unanswered, or the outcome looks so different from what we hoped for? In this episode, I’ll share how I’ve learned to navigate those seasons of waiting and uncertainty, and where I’ve discovered God’s grace in the silence.

    Listen in to…

Gain insight into how God works in our lives even when the answer isn’t what we expected.

Be encouraged by real-life examples of persistent faith through unanswered prayers.

Learn two foundational truths to help ground your prayer life in hope and trust.

“Spiritual disciplines are the main way we offer ourselves to God as a living sacrifice. We are doing what we can do with our bodies, our minds, our hearts. God then takes this simple offering of ourselves and does with it what we cannot do, producing within us deeply ingrained habits of peace, love and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Richard Foster

  • Have you ever felt that gnawing sense of inadequacy when you scroll through social media and see others making what looks like a bigger impact? Had that restless feeling that you should be doing more, making a bigger splash, reaching more people? You’re not alone. I’ve been there too—wrestling with that quiet voice inside asking, “Shouldn’t I be doing something more significant?”

A few weeks ago, I was reminded of a journalist who set out on a journey searching for answers to similar questions. What he found in an unexpected place completely changed his perspective. It left me thinking about how we can find peace and purpose, even in a world that’s constantly pushing for more.

Practical tips for embracing a more meaningful approach to your everyday life.

Sometimes the answer we’re looking for isn’t where we expect to find it.

💡Today’s Big Idea: In a world of many and much, take heart as you serve the one in front of you with great love.

  • Imagine sitting in a small, dimly lit room, your heart pounding as you wait for something painful that may or may not happen—a shock, literally. The uncertainty of not knowing when, or even if, it will strike hangs over you like a storm cloud. Then, you’re presented with a choice: wait it out or press the button and shock yourself right now to end the waiting. What would you do? Surprisingly, a study from the University of Virginia found that many people chose to endure the pain immediately rather than face the discomfort of uncertainty. This fascinating insight gives us a glimpse into how we handle the unknown—and how much we fear it.

What if we could embrace the unknown as a space where we slow down, notice God, and trust the process, rather than rushing into action? Today, we’re exploring how to find peace and grace in seasons where the way forward isn’t clear, and why it’s okay to not have all the answers.

    Tune in to learn:

How to navigate uncertainty with grace and patience.

Why forcing action can increase stress rather than relieve it.

The benefits of slowing down and noticing God’s presence in the unknown.

Practical ways to trust God when you don't have a clear plan.

How embracing uncertainty can open the door to new possibilities and deeper trust.

Uncertainty might be uncomfortable, but it’s also where we can experience the wonder of walking with God, one step at a time.

💡Today’s Big Idea: When the way is unclear, God is still near.

⚡️Today’s Small Step: Pause in the midst of your uncertainty and just notice and enjoy what God has for you there.

  • Have you ever felt like life is a never-ending uphill battle, where every task feels like scaling Mount Everest? You're not alone. Recently, I found myself in that very place—both literally and metaphorically—during a sweltering summer hike. In my determination to power through, I ignored the quiet nudge to take it slow and enjoy the journey. The result? A rather embarrassing episode that left me lying flat in the middle of the street, wondering why I hadn’t just made it easier on myself.

It got me thinking: What if we approached life’s challenges with grace instead of grit? What if we made room for rest, let go of the pressure to always achieve more, and listened to that gentle voice asking, “What if you made this easy?” God’s grace isn’t about doing all the things perfectly. It isn’t even about doing all the things; it’s about knowing when to give ourselves the space to breathe and take the next step with intention. There’s wisdom in that, and today, I’m diving into how we can shift our mindset from striving to thriving by making things easier—not harder.

Tune in to discover how to:

Tackle one major change at a time to avoid overwhelm.

Break big goals into smaller, manageable steps.

    Focus on progress over perfection.

Maintain a sustainable pace for long-term success.

Schedule rest and reflection to refresh your spirit.

💡Today’s Big Idea: When you can, make it easy.

⚡️Today’s Small Step: Choose one area of your life, and find one way to make it easy or at least easier.

  • While our everyday life might feel far from an adventure, God is continually inviting us into His greater grace. Whether it's wrestling with daily commitments or stepping into unknown territories, our walk with God is an ongoing, dynamic journey. We often face moments of hesitation and fear, but it’s through these very challenges that we experience God’s transformative grace.

Today, we’ll explore how to recognize and respond to God's invitations to deeper intimacy and greater grace. We'll break down this journey into five practical movements: recognizing God’s grace, releasing self-reliance, receiving His provision, risking new steps of faith, and resting in His assurance.

Learn how to use a simple, repeatable roadmap to accept God’s invitation to greater grace:

Recognize: Acknowledge that God always has grace available for every need.

Release: Let go of self-reliant habits and trust in God's provision.

Receive: Openly accept God's grace for each step of the journey.

Risk: Take bold steps of faith, trusting God’s guidance and provision.

  • We’ve all seen them, or maybe we’ve even been them: that couple in a church, restaurant, or just walking around the neighborhood, where one partner is there but clearly not present. They sit together, but their minds and hearts are miles apart, lost in their own worlds. Perhaps they've been together so long that they think they know everything about each other, and the excitement has worn off, leading to a quiet but deep-seated boredom.

It’s a tragic scene, yet one that’s all too common. Even more heartbreaking is the fact that many of us experience this same sense of detachment in our relationship with God. We sit in the pew, our Bible open, lips reciting familiar prayers, but our hearts are far from Him. The routine becomes mundane, and dare I say, we find ourselves bored with God. It's almost inevitable as humans, but the good news is we don’t have to stay there.

This week, we continue our journey of rediscovering the beauty and wonder of God in our series, "A 90 Day Adventure in Enjoying God." In this final episode, we shift our focus inward to explore how practices like silence, solitude, and contemplation can reignite our passion for God. Tune in as we dive deep into these transformative practices and discover how they can help us enjoy God from the inside out.

“Jesus both respected and loved his body and the bodies of the people he encountered. We know that he slept and ate – taking care of his body’s basic needs. He also touched and healed people whose bodies were broken. If the body didn’t matter, why would he take time to heal the lame and restore sight to the blind? Why would he kneel to wash the grime off his disciples’ feet? Why would he wake up early to cook his hungry friend's breakfast?

Perhaps the most compelling of all, at the last supper, Jesus says, “This is my body broken for you. This is my blood shed for you” (1 Corinthians 11). The ultimate gift of life came through his body.

Encounter with the divine happens in the body, not apart from it.”

  • In many ways, worry is wonderful. God wisely wired our nervous systems to alert us when something in our world is amiss. An alarm gets triggered, we notice the threat, focus all our energies on it, and work a plan until it goes away.

However, this strategy fails when our fears are unfounded, the problem is so far in the future we don’t even know for sure if it will happen, or with things that are completely out of our control.

Thankfully, we can take those world-class worrying skills and use them as a powerful tool to learn to trust God—even when the future is cloudy and we don’t know what to do.
