  • Guys, it’s the one you’ve been waiting for! We’ve been talking about how The Parent Wrap is a podcast for women AND men, so this episode our husbands join us on the mics to talk about what pregnancy is like from their POV. From their initial reactions to the big news and navigating that rough first trimester to facing the stresses of life changes and financial responsibilities, Andrew and Brian open up in a refreshingly candid chat that every dad-to-be can relate to.

  • We’re excited to welcome Amber Namikas to the show, a mom of 2 who graciously answers all of our burning questions about IVF, delivery and the often-untouched topic of post-partum anxiety. Amber’s story takes us through the extreme highs and lows of the IVF process including the slew of doctor’s appointments, endless injections (coupled with a fear of needles) and unpredictable egg retrieval results. Then, once her first little miracle arrived, she found herself fighting an uphill battle with breastfeeding and feeling complicated emotions that she later identified as post-partum anxiety. She also discusses how each pregnancy and child are completely unique and reveals why listening to your gut is the best thing you can do as a parent.

  • In this episode we’re excited to welcome our good friend and mom of 2 Melanie Blume. Mel lets us in on her experiences with pregnancy, delivery and parenting. When Mel went past her due date without any signs of her body going into labor, her doctor scheduled a C-section. We get a first-hand account of what it’s really like to have a baby via C-section (not once but twice!) including the challenges of caring for a newborn while recovering from major surgery. Mel also discusses her not-so-great experience with breastfeeding and how embracing formula improved her relationship with her daughter and with herself. Finally, she gives some helpful tips on how to navigate the always-tricky situation of introducing a toddler to a new baby.
