Jen Warner, LICSW, LCSW, is one of those therapists, one of those individuals, who is so passionate about her work (and compassionate, as you'll hear in this interview!) that after listening to her, you walk away inspired. I certainly did.
Jen is a Washington, Illinois, Oregon, and New York State licensed clinical social worker, and psychotherapist with advanced training and certification in trauma-informed care and the treatment of trauma, as well as holistic health and nutrition.
Additionally, Jennifer has taught on the subject of abuse and trauma at the graduate social work schools of Portland State University and Columbia University. She has provided direct services to child and adult survivors of interpersonal violence, including domestic violence, sexual abuse, and gun violence. She has supervised clinicians and graduate students on the provision of trauma-informed care, and was the crime victim social worker at the largest public hospital in the South Bronx before moving to the Pacific Northwest.

We've all heard of Type A and Type B, but Type C is common to many women and can harm our health if taken too far.
Hereâs a set of common Type C behaviors:
-Being overly conscientious and responsible
-Carrying othersâ burdens
-Not setting sufficient personal boundaries
-Wanting to please others
-Avoiding conflict
-Internalizing toxic emotions
It sounds familiar, right? Unfortunately, this âpathological nicenessâ is scientifically linked to disease. At 'Type C Toolbox,' Dr. Kore Nissenson Glied and Anna White's mission is to build awareness, offer guidance and strategies, create community, connect women, and encourage further learning.
Dr. Kore Nissenson Glied is a clinical psychologist born and raised in New York City. She worked for over 15 years in city hospitals providing both patient care and academic training and has maintained a private practice in Manhattan since 2010, where she provides evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, and stress due to a wide range of conditions including past history of trauma, pregnancy, and relationship issues. Dr. Glied received her BA from Carleton College in Minnesota. After receiving her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University in 2006, she completed an internship at Montefiore Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship in trauma at NYU. Dr. Glied lives with her husband, two sons, and dog in Manhattan.
Anna White is a former Wall Street executive who experienced severe burnout and subsequent chronic illness during her years in the corporate sector. Type C traits were a significant contributor to her declining health. After leaving corporate life, she founded a specialty care package company, Rest & Heal. She holds a B.S. and M.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Rebecca M. Stahl is the interim Executive Director at SEÂź International and brings a unique blend of legal expertise and trauma-informed practice to their role. As a Somatic ExperiencingÂź Practitioner (SEPâą), Rebecca infuses the organizationâs approach with a deep understanding of how trauma affects individuals, families, and systems.
This perspective is particularly valuable given SEIâs work with vulnerable populations. A non-cishet Jewish person, Rebecca believes in the power of community as a focal point for growth and healing. This philosophy and their Somatic ExperiencingÂź expertise underpin their leadership at SEâą International. They work tirelessly to create inclusive, supportive environments that recognize and address trauma, nurturing resilience in all individuals touched by the organizationâs work.
Rebecca's journey to Somatic ExperiencingÂź was informed by their extensive child welfare and family law background. Rebecca leverages their Somatic ExperiencingÂź training in their leadership role to guide SEâą Internationalâs programs and initiatives. They emphasize the importance of addressing trauma at both individual and systemic levels. This trauma-informed lens shapes everything from program design to staff training, ensuring that SEâą International's work is effective and compassionate.
As a former representative for children in child welfare cases in Los Angeles County, California, and Tucson, Arizona, they witnessed firsthand the impact of trauma on young lives. This experience, combined with their academic pursuits, including a Fulbright Scholarship in New Zealand, where they earned a Master of Law degree focusing on childrenâs legal representation, provides a solid foundation for their trauma-informed leadership approach. Before joining SEI, Rebecca served as the Executive Director of the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children, and the Courts at the University of Baltimore School of Law. In this role, they continued integrating their Somatic ExperiencingÂź training with legal practice, recognizing the powerful potential for healing when these disciplines are combined.
Rebecca is a respected voice in both legal and trauma-informed circles. They have presented at international conferences on childrenâs rights and family law, often focusing on the intersection of legal practice and trauma awareness. Their co-authored book, âRepresenting Children in Dependency and Family Law: Beyond the Lawâ reflects their commitment to holistic, trauma-informed representation of child clients. At SEâą International, Rebecca conducts worldwide trainings to help lawyers and other professionals navigate trauma manifestations in themselves and their clients. This work is central to their vision for the organization, as they believe that trauma-informed practices can revolutionize how we approach our communities and the world with more compassion.
