I got engaged!
OK, not really. But getting a name tag from First Church Birmingham felt like an engagement ring.
Let me explain. If you follow my IG Stories you know I've been searching for a new church since December of 2022 and as soon as the search began I immediately noticed how it felt a lot like dating.
I haven't officially become a member of First Church yet but I ordered a nametag to put a ring on it -- to signify that I plan to commit -- for real, for real -- soon.
In the latest episode of The Writeous Babe Podcast, I'm sharing how journaling helped me in my church search and what I was looking for in a place of worship. I'm also doing the most with this extended metaphor of church hopping being like dating but I hope you will listen anyway.

In this episode, we're chatting with licensed counselor Lauren Packer of Packer Counseling LLC about why she asks her clients to journal during and after each session and how she uses journaling in her own life. We also discuss all the different ways to journal. Yes, you can write in a pretty notebook with a pretty pen but you can journal with video, voice notes, pictures and much more.
