  • Picture this: The reception is going off, the dance floor is packed, and out of nowhere, a guest decides it’s the perfect moment for an impromptu karaoke performance on top of the couple’s table.

    The song? “I Will Survive.”

    The table? Didn’t.

We’ve all heard stories about wedding guests who, let’s just say, left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Maybe you’ve even witnessed a few moments yourself—guests who turned up wearing white, brought uninvited plus-ones, or made themselves a little too comfortable at the open bar.

But here’s the thing: being a truly great wedding guest isn’t about following a mysterious set of rules or walking on eggshells. It’s about showing up with a little intention, a dash of gratitude, and a whole lot of your best energy.

So, whether you’re prepping for your first wedding of the season or you’re a practised guest just looking to brush up on your etiquette, today’s episode is all about how to be the kind of guest every couple is thrilled to have at their wedding.

Because you don’t want to be ‘that guy’, right?

  • Have you ever wondered why some wedding dancefloors explode with energy while others never quite get off the ground-and what you can do about it?

This is Part 2 of my conversation with the amazing Tania who is the heart and soul of Entertainment business, Choons & Moovz.

In this episode, Tania shares how your wedding party can help set the mood early, what to do if you have a lot of smokers on your guest list, and why your bar’s location can make a surprising difference to the success of your dancefloor.

We also chat about the benefits of having a celebrant who can double as your MC or DJ, how long you really need to keep the dancing going (spoiler: it’s probably less than you think!), and Tania’s candid opinions on drinks and kids on the dancefloor.

Plus, we tackle the big question about guest song requests: are they a dancefloor lifesaver or a recipe for disaster?

  • Are you stressing about how to keep your guests entertained at your wedding or worried that your dream dancefloor might be a ghost town before the night is over?

What if I told you that the secret to an unforgettable wedding reception isn’t about the perfect playlist (or no-playlist)?

If you’re planning your big day and want to make sure the party is one that you and your family and friends talk about for years to come, you’re in the right place.

I sat down with Tania Smith, the powerhouse behind Choons & Moovz; a multi-ABIA award-winning entertainment business that specialises in weddings.

Tania is renowned for her infectious energy, her knack for reading a crowd, and her ability to turn any event into a celebration.

As a DJ, MC, and now celebrant, she brings her signature joy and vivaciousness to every wedding she works on, helping newlyweds and their guests create unforgettable memories.

Our conversation was so jam-packed with wisdom, laughs, and practical advice that I had to split it into two episodes.

In Part 1, Tania shares her honest take on the age-old question: Can you really get everyone on the dance floor at a wedding? And if yes, HOW?

We also dig into your timeline and how long your dancefloor should actually be pumping for.

And Tania shares her top tips for boosting your dancefloor energy, from who you invite, to how you set up your space, to the all-important role of lighting and DJ placement.

If you want a wedding that feels authentic, joyful, and totally you, don’t miss this two-part special with one of the industry’s true legends. Part 1 drops now, with even more gold coming your way next week in Part 2!

  • Wanna know the worst email or DM a wedding vendor receives?

    It simply says: “how much?”

Reaching out to wedding vendors can feel a bit like the early stages of dating, right? Those initial messages are kind of like you're feeling your way to see if you two click, and as awkward as it might seem with your wedding vendor team, you want to make a great first impression.

You really do, because it can mean the difference between booking someone that will go out of their way to understand you and your needs and someone who ignores you and doesn't even respond.

The truth is that a random and scattered approach to researching your wedding vendors can make it unnecessarily hard to find people who have the skills and experience you need, and those people who truly get your vision.

So this week I'm sharing a system to attract the right vendors who understand and can fulfil your wedding dreams. We'll cover why having a strategic approach to vendor communication is pretty much essential, and how providing details from the start can get them excited about your wedding plans

  • We all know the well-worn adage, “you get what you pay for”.

But let me throw another one in there: “it’s like comparing apples with oranges”.

Because a wedding vendor who is charging well below the market average for what they do or what they supply is completely different from one that knows their worth, their costs and what it takes to be in business for longer than a year or 2.

It's possible and in my research for this episode and experience over the past 16+ years, highly likely, that your savings will come at the expense of quality, reliability, and maybe even your peace of mind.

Today, we’re exploring the hidden costs of booking the cheapest options for your wedding—and how to strike a balance between budget and having the beautiful wedding you expect and deserve.

I’m pulling back the curtain on the risks of booking the cheapest vendors, sharing real-world stories and expert insights from the wedding industry, including candid comments from suppliers in the Unbridely Suppliers Facebook group.

These are the 7 critical things you need to know and consider about booking wedding vendors who are charging well below the market average and how to avoid costly mistakes.

  • What if I told you there's a way to make your ceremony as unique and as vibrant and as deep and as weird and quirky as your relationship? Today I'm digging into the world of non-traditional wedding readings.

Forget the same old scripture passages, unless that's your jam, in which case there's nothing to see here. But I want to talk about poems that speak to your soul and make your heart skip a beat. Song lyrics that make you cry, and even quotes from your favourite TV show or movie that make you feel stuff.

Whether you're planning a ceremony that pulls at the heartstrings, is laugh out loud, funny, quirky, cute, or something in between, this episode is your guide to injecting personality and richness into one of the most important moments of your big day.

    I'm going to go through:

why non-traditional readings It can be a breath of fresh air for your ceremony, some brilliant examples for unique and meaningful readings, lyrics and quotes, how to choose the perfect words that reflect you as a couple and, choose the perfect time as well so they fit into your ceremony rather than feeling like you're sitting at a uni lecture.

By the end of this episode, you'll be bursting with inspiration to create a ceremony that's as one of a kind, as weird, adorable, and unique as you two are.

So grab a notebook, maybe a tissue or two, because we're about to delve into feelings and we're going to get poetic, lyrical, and maybe even a little cinematic

  • Do you really need more than one outfit for your wedding day?

Is it just another wedding industry or consumer-driven extravagance, or are there more practical reasons and even history and cultural significance behind the perceived increase in multiple outfit changes on a wedding day?

In this episode you’ll learn why brides (not excluding others who want to get into the 2nd outfit fun, but mainly brides) are embracing more than one wedding day look, what kinds of 2nd outfits are popular and available to you (hint: they don’t have to break the bank) and how to time your change perfectly to make the most of photo opportunities and your party time too.

Make sure you listen right to the end because bridal boutique owner and stylist, Bianca from Sposa Adelaide, shares her insider expert advice about different options you might not have considered and how to pull off your wardrobe transitions like a pro!

  • Imagine waking up the morning after your wedding, still basking in the glow of the previous night's magic, and receiving a link to a treasure trove of candid photos and videos from your special day. Within 24 to 48 hours, you can relive the laughter, tears, and joy through hundreds of unedited and edited moments captured by a wedding content creator. Sounds great, right?

But here's the real question: “When is it a smart move to book a content creator for your big day, and when might you be setting yourself up for disappointment or even undermining the work of your professional photographer and/or videographer?"

I’ve been inspired by the Brad and Karina podcast episode as they shared a few less-than-ideal experiences working with content creators and contrasted that against the times when they’ve worked with collaborative team players.

I thought that it would be super valuable for you, to help you understand how the roles of photographer, videographer and content creator are very different and which one (or ones) you choose to book for your wedding depends on what you want to get out of it, where your priorities lie and your values too.

  • Planning a wedding that truly reflects you both can feel overwhelming at times, right? With so many options, it's tough to know where to start, what works and what doesn't.

But what I’d love to encourage you to do is to forget about fleeting “trends” – because I want to explore some ideas that are genuinely creating magical moments in 2025 weddings. And I’ll also shed light on some outdated approaches that couples are happily leaving behind.

And when I say wedding trends, I’m not here to dictate the hottest colours or push you towards budget-busting extravagances that don't resonate with you.

Instead, I want to share the thoughtful choices couples are making in 2025 that genuinely enhance their wedding experience. And some of them might not be new, as such, but they are definitely gaining in popularity.

Today, I’m diving into ideas that are working right now to maximise your precious time, create unforgettable moments, and minimise any post-wedding regret.

From reimagining traditional timelines to incorporating technology that brings far-flung loved ones closer, we'll see how couples are creating little pockets inside their weddings that feel authentically 'them.'

I’ll also look at ways people are reducing stress, amping up their guests’ experience, and refining the elements of their day (or days) by serving a purpose that means something to them.

  • What's your relationship with your parents worth to you?

This episode was inspired by a real-future mother of the bride and Unbridely Podcast listener, who reached out to me about her own daughter’s wedding.

The Mum left me a voice message because she was wondering how to broach the topic of offering money to help pay for her daughter’s wedding and how to make sure that it came across to the soon-to-be-weds as helpful, thoughtful, intentional and not controlling, or just throwing cash at them.

She wants her contribution to be valued and meaningful to both her and her daughter.

So today, I share a few insights on how I think it’s best to work through this potential minefield of emotions, power, money and expectations.

How do you accept help from your parents without feeling like you're losing control of your own wedding?

How do you keep your relationship with them intact while still staying true to what you and your fiancé want?

Your going to learn some real, practical strategies for setting boundaries, having those awkward conversations, and making sure your wedding stays YOUR wedding.

Plus I want to share with you how my parents contributed to our wedding and how it made our wedding day and general relationship with them even stronger.

  • Have you ever walked away after a conversation, or been driving home and thought:

“oh man, I should’ve stood up for myself” or “I should have said what I really felt” or worse still you couldn’t think of anything in the moment but you realise what you should’ve said afterwards.

It's a scientific fact that once you get engaged (maybe 2nd only to when you get pregnant) you’ll be on the receiving end of more uncomfortable dare I say STUPID questions than you’ve ever been asked in your entire life. And they can make you feel uncomfortable, they can be of a private nature, or quite simply no one’s business.

So today I’m here to help you decide the options available to you.

From the high-road, classy replies that neutralise the conversation so you can change topics OR if you’ve got nothing to lose, the sassy, spicy, sarcastic retorts that, for sure, burn bridges, but also let people know that you’re not playing.

And at the end of the episode, I’ll also be sharing some all-rounder replies that work for pretty much anything—responses that let you stay cool, calm, collected, and come out of it smelling like roses, no matter what’s thrown your way.

  • When was the last time you forgot something? It might have been as recently as this morning when you left your travel mug of coffee on the kitchen bench or went to the shops without shopping bags. But when it comes to your wedding day… that’s a once-in-a-lifetime event.

And while you’ve likely put a lot of thought into the big picture—your venue, what you’re wearing, and even your vows—you’d be surprised how easy it is to overlook some of the smaller, yet absolutely crucial details.

It’s almost inevitable that some things slip through the cracks—whether it’s coordinating vendor schedules, packing essential items, or planning your post-wedding transport. Forgetting to arrange just one of these can impact not only your day but the experience your loved ones have as well.

In this episode, I’ll walk you through 10 of the most easily forgotten—yet incredibly important—details that can make all the difference.
