Party. Drugs. Alcohol. Fun.
No matter what, as long it's fun, has as less responsibility as possibility and it has nothing to do with hard work.
This was Alicia's life just a few years back. When her husband returned from Afghanistan and the wish to become pregnant just didn't become true, the two decided to move to Hawaii and just - chill. And party. And hang out, you know?!
But it didn't took Alicia long to get pregnant, now that her partner and Alicia didn't expect it. But Alicia and her husband knew this was a chance. Their son was an opportunity to change their lives, get off the parties, the unhealthy way of life and finally take the responsibility for themselves but especially for the little kid.
But Alicia struggled hard. Her body didn't look the way she wanted it to. She fought with postpartum depression, and the question: How am I going to be a good mother to my son?
"I remembered looking in the mirror and was like: " Who is that? Who is that person? That's not me!" It made feel really gross and unhappy. (...) Having the gym was my saving grace to adopt to motherhood in my own way."
Alicia found her blessing in the gym, lifting weights, becoming strong - not only from the outside but from the inside through her training.
Now, Alicia is a Certified Life & Online Fitness Coach, and Certified Personal Trainer. She wants to show women how to live life more passionate and purposeful with the help of self-discovery and fitness. Alicia is also a National level Bikini Competitor and had great success in her first competitions. Her transformation is an example to follow and shows that anything is possible.

Storytelling.
Often, this is the only way for many of us who are unheard, unseen or misunderstood to be given a voice.
A voice that reaches the rest of the world, that does not live through the often tragic stories that are hidden behind the silence.
Maggie is a filmmaker, storyteller and social change strategist. She helps to bring stories alive, stories that otherwise would never be told. She helps the people who have lived through these stories to be able to bring them to paper and eventually into film. To have this talent, to connect with people on such a deep level is not only a gift but necessary in our world that is shaken from so much adversity, hardship and trauma. But being behind the camera does not guarantee your own safety from any trauma, adversity or violence.
Listen to this amazing interview with Maggie, her incredible work that she is doing with so much passion and compassion for the people that need our voice to be heard and have a look behind the scenes.

When we find a partner that matches our weaknesses with their strengths, supports us whenever we feel in need for help, wants only our best and is not only our lover but also our best friend, we hit a jackpot.
Falling in love is a beautiful thing. Unless we end up in an abusive relationship.
It very often starts out what seems to be a wonderful relationship - but he emotional or physical abuse creeps in slowly but steady over time.
Tara found herself in an emotional abusive relationship. She moved into a new city with her boyfriend, started to become unhappy in her job and eventually started to think something was wrong with her when her boyfriend would start to point out certain things about her more often.
"It started to really make me feel small and insignificant and kind of made me take a step back and make me think I wasn't good enough."
Very often do we end up in abusive relationships, before we are able to recognize what we are getting ourselves into. Tara was strong enough to get out of it, but it was a hard and long journey.
Today, Tara Rae Bradford is a Growth Strategist & Success Coach. She is the founder of The Potentialista®, a global mentorship program to help extraordinary people become visionary leaders and bring their ambitions to life. Tara has 9 years of experience helping individuals and families through tragedies. When she reached the top of her career path by the age of 26 she discovered that happiness and success are not the same thing. After reinventing her own life, she completed her certification in high performance coaching so she could help others change their lives as well.
Tara is passionate about helping high achievers live happy, fulfilling, successful lives by guiding them to develop fierce confidence and limitless self belief. She is also committed to helping empower 1 million women to become visionary leaders in their industries by 2020.

What if you found out that your life may be over by the end of your 30th birthday?
Denise was born with a chronic illness called Cystic Fibrosis and has been told very early in her life that she might not live longer than 30years.
Knowing this can be a huge burden and a mental block - or you can live your life just like Denise in freedom and to the fullest. On her Facebook Page you can see her beautiful profile photo and her description that states the following quote:
“If you can’t believe in miracles, then believe in yourself. When you want something bad enough, let that drive push you to make it happen. Sometimes you’ll run into brick walls that are put there to test you. Find a way around them and stay focused on your dream. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
― Isabel Lopez
Having known Denise for a bit now, I know this quote is 100% hers. If it wasn't Isabel Lopez that said it, Denise would have been the one.
Listen to her inspiring story of how she is dealing with her chronic illness, what brought her to travel as much as possible and what she is writing about on her blog Travelous Mind.
Denise has also a new project that we are going to talk about and I am SUPER excited to be able to support her and spreading the word. Don't miss out and tune in to find out what big project is coming soon!
Side Information
What is Cystic Fibrosis? The Mayo Clinic provides a great overview on their website:
"Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disorder that causes severe damage to the lungs, digestive system and other organs in the body.
Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. These secreted fluids are normally thin and slippery. But in people with cystic fibrosis, a defective gene causes the secretions to become sticky and thick. Instead of acting as a lubricant, the secretions plug up tubes, ducts and passageways, especially in the lungs and pancreas."

For my very first #PowerWomenTalk Episode I have an amazing guest on my show: Tricia Brouk. Tricia is a #PowerWoman herself and works as Director/Writer/Choreographer/Tedx Organizer.
Tricia is currently working on Mothers and Daughters a documentary style theater piece on the complex relationships of Mother and Daughters.
In addition to working in the entertainment industry, Tricia Brouk applies her expertise as a director and writer for film, television and theater to the art of Big Talks and Keynotes. She nurtures speakers using the same techniques she does with actors by guiding them to become their most vulnerable selves in order to truly connect with their audience. She offers speakers a new point of view on what a Big Talk can be and how to achieve their goal, and often times, their dream, of taking a Big stage.
