030Episode 112: Jared Oakleaf
Presented by Final Rise
Wyoming may not register as a hot spot for Chukar hunting. I'd say, the locals prefer it that way. Generally, when Chukar hunting gets good (Dec, Jan, Feb) most people shift their thoughts to milder temperatures. Wyoming is a wild place, and the residents have to be a little wild as well.
Jared grew up in Lander, Wyoming. He now works for the Bureau of Land Management and now helps manage the public resources he grew up exploring. From Chukar, Huns, Sage Grouse and mountains Grouse, Jared and his Setter, Rhiza , are never without an adventure to pursue.
Join me this week as Jared and I discuss: Chukar's distinct love for Marijuana , 1st Chukar hunts 19th Century Exploration Novels, public land, and much, much more

We did it! 100 episodes for Upchukar!
All of this could not have been acheived without YOUR support. Those of you that tuned in, have made it a joy to create this podcast and find new and interesting guests from the far reaches of the Chukar world.
This week my guest is Katie Willis, a true Chukar hunting personality. Not only does she hunt as hard as anyone I know, she clearly has the most fun doing it. We dedicated this episode to her boyfriend and the Upchukar super fan, Ben Warner. After his passing earlier this year, Katie packed up and embarked on the dream they had been talking about- being travelling bird hunters.
This is a laugh-out-loud episode with a truly genuine and fun person to be around- Katie Willis
Cheers again!
*p.s. its actually "safety first" but, too funny not to us the name as the episode title
