This week your insider influencer fix comes from none other than, Mother Egg – one of three humans who gave birth to the one and only, world record egg! It’s not every day you get to interview the egg that broke the internet, so we’re incredibly excited to be getting under the shell of our small speckled friend, who took on Kylie Jenner and won. With less than 50 grid posts to its name, it’s been less than a year since the egg hatched, but it now has over 7.8 million followers on Instagram, and humbly describes itself as a ‘good egg’. In today’s episode, we chat to one of three creatives who came together to launch an anti-establishment campaign online, with hopes of highlighting the dangerous fragility of influencer culture. Although she enjoys a career as a traditional television presenter, there’s no denying AJ is of the Instagram generation, and like most influencers these days, she is incredibly good at what she does, and completely multifaceted. Probably hard pushed to decide which job title would come at the top of her LinkedIn profile, AJ fills her time with an array of work appointments as one of the nation’s favourite entertainer – she’s a future classic (called it here first!) With a degree in English and Politics under her belt, AJ started 2019 with a bang, announcing her new position as backstage presenter for The Voice UK. Amena Khan went from days spent in the student union with bright pink hair, to an influencer with over half a million followers online, sharing her life with her audience via hijab tutorials and school run vlogs.
