Ruth Allen is a British cyclist living here stateside in Atlanta, GA. She's entering her second season as a professional cyclist with the Atlanta Rise CC NCL team after rehabbing from being struck by a motorist. Outside of cycling Ruth has dedicated her career to Greek and Roman art, where she holds a Ph.D, and is a curator at the Carlson Museum at Emory University. Let's not forget that she is a Cambridge Alum. We got pretty philosophical when we started dicussing art as a form of communication which makes this a very special episode. Enjoy!

Joshua Clements is an illustrator, graphic designer and founder of Thank You Skateboards. His business parters are none other than Torey Pudwill and, the legend, Daewon Song. Joshua has been a tremendous influence on my life and creative view and this started more than 20 years ago since he and I are high school friends. This is a very special episode and it's a good one of course. Thank You!

Jeremy Dunn has been around cycling for roughly two decades. In that time he has had a hand in some pretty cool culture moving creative projects within the cycling industry. Founder of The Athletic (socks) and Embrocation magazine, Jeremy has directed or edited work for SRAM, Rapha, Bicycling Magazine, Rouleur, Specialized and now he wears the Marketing hat for Smith Optics. This was a treat to speak with someone who has inspired me for many years. We also go on quite a tangent on 1970s cinema. Enjoy!

Chad Bennett is a cyclist, podcaster and community leader originally from Rochester, NY but now living in New Jersey. Chad and I discussed a gamut of things as we always do here on WGTHO. From podcasting, to creative brand collaborations, to the always daunting topic of the Black experience in cycling. Once again, it feels good to be back sharing conversation on WGTHO. Enjoy!

Sarah Sturm is one of the most recognizable faces in the American gravel scene. She is the 2018 Single Speed National Champion in cyclocross. As this episode airs, the day before the Chequamegon race, Sarah currently sits in 3rd on the standings for the Lifetime Grand Prix. We talked about her experience at The Leadville Trail 100, a race that she's always wanted to win. We also spent some time talking about what it takes to be a privateer outside of the training aspect. It's good to be back rolling with another great episode. Enjoy.

Back from our long hiatus! We spoke with Cody McKay, a Canadian elite cyclist from Ottawa. Cody spoke with us about his journey through cycling and how discovering his Aortic Aneurism has encouraged him to advocate for and educate people on being aware of their heart conditions and knowing the signs. Even with the time off from the show we hit the ground running with a wonderful conversation without missing a beat. Enjoy!

WE'RE BACK!!! We were able to squeeze one more episode in before the end of the year. For us "squeeze" might not exactly be the most accurate word choice but we recorded an episode and we are making sure that there is a fresh WGTHO episode in your ears heading into 2023. Today, we had a return guest, Caitlin Dumas-Hein. With Caitlin being so immersed and invested in cycling and cycling infrastructure we envoked the round table format to wrap up the year: Cats, expensive butter, Specialized's removal of their Global Ambassador program, The FIFA World Cup that was still under way during our recording... Each of us are uniquely involved in spearate spaces of cycling so we gave a fresh take on whats happening in our lives there. And Caitlin shared her highs and lows of successfully creating and hosting her first, large scale, gravel event in Nebraska. No matter how long the wait between episodes we always try and brew a great conversation. Enjoy and Happy New Year!

This episode will forever be near and dear to our hearts and to our WGTHO family. Right before the summer, and a month after this recording, we lost our friend and WGTHO champion, Moriah Wilson. We kept this recording off the air to allow for The Wilson family and those close to her to grive and heal. Now that we are starting our new season we wanted to begin by remembering the legacy of an extremely bright star and a friend that we continue to think of and will forever hold close the memories we have with her.
Moriah Wilson was an incredibly talented cyclist who started off this year with 7 wins and one second place finish including the very first race of the Lifetime Grand Prix. We caught up with "Mo" directly after her win and several reschedules. Mo generously gave us her time as we chatted about her life before bikes as an elite skiier, her disinterest in word games and all things that have culminated in her life and lead her to be the most exciting cyclist of the season.
Our Episodes are rarely edited but to ensure that Mo's personality and legacy is maintained we are presenting this episode almost entire uncut from beginning to end. Roll in Peace, Mo.

It’s not every day that WGTHO has a Hall of Fame, Top 50 NBA player of all time on our show… BUT WE DO TODAY! Reggie Miller is all of the aforementioned plus a veteran MTBer. Reggie sits on the Board of Directors at USAC and focuses on diversity initiatives and engagements within the organization. Naturally we touched on that topic, the NBA Finals and Reggie’s sweet new Moot YSL that he just picked up in Steamboat Springs. Reggie was participating in the Ranch Rally in Steamboat which is a bike event that supports the ranchers in the area but Reggie was also able to direct some of those proceeds towards cycling at HBCUs as well. We covered the gamut in this episode. It was a fun one as always. Enjoy.

Isabella Bertold lives her athletic life on two opposite ends of the sporting spectrum. Isabella made a very successful career of racing a laser radial and was previously ranked No. 2 in the world. After suffering from a TBI Isabella discovered cycling through physical therapy and from there has gone on to find herself competing with the most elite cyclists in the world—not to mention she started her own UCI team, InstaFund LaPrima. We’ll leave the rest to the podcast but not without teasing how to sail into the wind, Isabella’s thoughts and initiatives on sustainability, the ongoing conflict between the correct pronunciation of the word ‘buoy’ and Isabella returning back to sailing but now in the most elite field of SailGP. Enjoy.

Isabel King is a professional cyclist originally from The Bay Area now currently living in Santa Monica, CA. In the last 18 months Isabel has gained a lot of attention, initially, from being the heir apparent in Southern California QOMs and then putting her talents to the test in bike racing. In Isabel's first ever race at Unbound she was able secure a Top 10 spot (8th) and from there she set the tone for a very successful rookie year in gravel racing. We talked about her athletic background and the time she spent working on Wall St. and what it means to be a professional cyclist in an era of privateering. Another great conversation to get you through the day. Enjoy

Rich Lang is a former professional cyclist for Rapha-Condor, Oceania U23 National Champion and now founder of a new training app for cyclists, Spoked AI. As we do on every episode we got to know more about Rich and his background and we really got to dig in on how Rich's personal interests helped influence the development of Spoked. Not to be too self-serving here but Rich also helped validate the We Got to Hangout show by allowing us to make our own promo code 'WGTHO' which will give you a 30-day trial of the app! Enjoy.

A change of pace. Today it's just Freya and Christopher catching up and remembering a few months to the past and looking towards the new year, 2022! Enjoy this short episode and we'll see you in the year!

Oh, do we have a treat for you today! This episode is a walk-off homer to the fantastic year that we have had doing WGTHO this year. Today, we had Doug McClintock and Jon Wolery of The Gravel Lot podcast on the show. Before diving in the way we usually do on the show we switched things up and started off by discussing some of the current events in cycling. Then, we got into Doug and Jon's history with the show and the observations they've made as commentators/contributors to the culture and community of cycling. This episode is full gas from start to finish and a wonderful note to end with for 2021. Enjoy

This episode is the gift that keeps on giving! TODAY we had Isabelle Bryenton hang out with us on the show. Izzy is a professional cyclist originally from Ottawa, Canada who is currently living in Girona while she stands by for the 2022 US racing calendar to commence. While living in Spain she is also working on completing her double major in engineering and is constantly dreaming of ways to make cycling more accessible via her expertise. We had a TON of fun on the show today and we covered almost everything we possibly could within two hours. Izzy has one of the most positive outlooks and attitudes that there is so her presence made this show flow naturally. Enjoy!

On this special episode we have the first American to win a World Cup in 27 years and NOW, the first ever short track World Champion, Christopher Blevins! Christopher may have had one of the most storybook cycling seasons in recent history. In addition to the accolades mentioned, he has also recently finished school at Cal Poly and produced a documentary covering the land and trails that he calls home in Cuyama Valley near San Luis Obispo. The name of this documentary is The Long Traverse. It's a film that brings you straight to the intersection of the preparation for an FKT (Fastest Known Time), the environmental consciousness that Christopher and his team use to build the trails in and around the valley along with the history, traditions and respect that they have for the rightful people of the land, The Chumash. We covered a gamut of topics as we always do on WGTHO and we hosted our first ever World Champion... and it won't be our last. Enjoy!

Today the stars and moons and planets aligned for, “one of the most funs” we have ever have WGTHO Podcast. We had the honor of hosting CJ Williams of L39ION of Los Angeles. Cj is not only a stout athlete on one of the best cycling teams in the US but he is also the man that keeps this ship afloat by handling a bulk of the operations and wrenching for L39ION. There were many many many laughs had so there’s no point in holding you up on this copy. Just have a listen and enjoy!
