“Good Manners, Dress Well and do Everything Properly” - Dick Reynolds
We’re all guilty of doing something we shouldn’t have, and in that same vein, we’ve also all watched numerous sporting scandals play out like they’re Oscar Nominated Films. But, in the midst of these controversies, are we at fault for judging? Or is the subject’s poor decision-making to blame? If we’re all trying our best to use good manners and be polite, who is really at fault? While bad behaviour is not a new phenomenon, why is it so pertinent in the current media landscape (and often more talked about than the game itself)?
Join Steve Haddan and Jodie as we discuss how problematic the sporting culture really is and if perhaps we are expecting too much of our young players.

Join Jodie and Damien Anthony Rossi as we discuss etiquette superpowers, masculinity in manners and the other “C word”.
Are people born good? Or do they have goodness thrust upon them? Whilst we tend to not wake up in the morning with the goal to be rude to people, some of us are guilty of ghosting that one person you don’t want to speak to at the supermarket... Whilst we can assume that the majority of us are trying our best to be polite, what about chivalry? As society’s understanding of Gender expands, is there still a place for chivalry in a post #metoo world? Or is it well and truly dead?

Join Jodie and Cynthia Morton as we discuss the need for humanity above etiquette and decide whether there are times when rudeness is acceptable. When we know that so much of what was expected of women in the 40’s and 50’s was to “smile” and “be polite.” we ask the question, is that robotic behaviour? And how much of our society's attempt at “people pleasing” is actually pleasing people?

Join Jodie and Lisa Clifford as we unpack the need for universal kindness and patience. Good manners and etiquette are universal. Or are they? With frequent cross-continental travel, increasing awareness of different cultures and our ability to talk to anyone at any time - are good manners still a unifying force? Or are they isolating us from different cultures?
In this episode of What Would June Dally Watkins Do? We are joined by Lisa Clifford, a celebrated writer and journalist and June Dally Watkins’ daughter. Today, Lisa talks to us about Miss Dally’s early life, how her humble beginnings formed her determination to teach etiquette to women from all walks of life, and how her ambition saw her leave behind a romance with famous actor Gregory Peck to return to Australia to start her Personal Development school. Touching on the “stigma” of being a “Dally’s Girl”, Lisa also takes us through what it was like to grow up with such a highly respected mother and what Miss Dally’s key message to young people would be today (besides moisturising your elbows of course!).
