David Jensen leads Digital Transformation at the United Nations Environment Programme, harnessing digital technologies to accelerate action in nature protection and pollution prevention. David is also the Co-founder of MapX, a mapping software which collects and verifies scientific data, helps stakeholders visualize, analyze and monitor natural resources & environmental change using planetary data and open source software. He is the co-founder of the UN Biodiversity Lab, as well as Earth School and the Environmental Peacebuilding Association. The work David has been leading spans many countries, many organizations and many different conflicts, but what seems to link all together is the overwhelming positive change that he sees in technology bringing to each different challenge. In this episode David shares what his experiences on the ground have taught him, why he began focusing on technological solutions for the environment in the first place and what he finds uniquely exciting about being part of the digital innovation ecosystem.
