でも最近は、考え方が変わりました。今は、おしゃれさよりも、着やすさや動きやすさを重視しています。日本語教師の仕事では、立ったり座ったりすることが多いからです。
今回は、私の服選びの変化や、最近よく着ている服についてお話しします。

日本には「就活」「婚活」「終活」「推し活」「ポイ活」など、たくさんの「〇〇活」があります。みなさんは、この意味がわかりますか？
実は「活」は「活動」の略です。
「就活」は就職活動、「婚活」は結婚活動、「終活」は何でしょう？今回は、日本でよく使われる「〇〇活」という言葉について、やさしく紹介します。

Do you know what these words mean?
The suffix -katsu comes from the word katsudō, which means “activity.”
For example, shūkatsu means job hunting, and konkatsu means looking for a marriage partner. But what does shūkatsu (終活) mean?
In this episode, I introduce some common Japanese words ending in -katsu and explain them in an easy-to-understand way.

でも、ふと思ったんです。
「家事って朝活に入るの？」朝の充実した時間は心に余裕をくれる！！

「思っています」と「考えています」は少しニュアンスが違う！！
「彼のことを思っている」と「彼のことを考えている」も少し違う！！
どうして！？ 日本語のおもしろいニュアンスを、やさしく説明します 🌸“Omotteimasu” and “Kangaeteimasu” both mean “I think” in English… but the nuance is different!
Even “I’m thinking of him” and “I’m thinking about him” feel different in Japanese.

「おばちゃん」も「おばあちゃん」も使わなくなった？
女の人は「おばちゃん」も「おばあちゃん」も呼ばれたくない？「おばちゃん」と「おばあちゃん」は発音が近いから気をつけよう。
“Obachan” and “obaachan” are not used as much as before. Many women do not like being called “obachan” or “obaachan” nowadays.

娘と長崎旅行にいきました。軍艦島は思ったより小さかったです。そして長崎料理はおいしいし、面白い！！

「お疲れ様です」「ご苦労様です」ってよく使う言葉ですが、少しニュアンスが違います。使うときは、気を付けてくださいね。
“‘Otsukaresama desu’ and ‘Gokurousama desu’ are both commonly used expressions in Japanese, but they have slightly different nuances. So be careful when using them.”

Hello everyone, and welcome to Nozomi’s Diary.
I’m Nozomi, a Japanese language teacher living in Japan.
I teach Japanese at a language school in Tokyo and also teach online students from many different countries.
In this podcast, I talk about my daily life as a Japanese “obachan” — a middle-aged Japanese woman — including family life, work, cooking, education, culture, and all the little things that happen every day in Japan.
I hope this podcast will be interesting not only for people learning Japanese, but also for Japanese teachers and anyone curious about real life in Japan.
Sometimes my stories are funny, sometimes stressful, and sometimes very ordinary — but I hope listening to them will help you feel closer to Japan and Japanese people.
