This recording was made prior to the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers. It is the firm belief of mine that black lives matter. My initial hope for this episode was to give a platform to a black voice in HR, which seems more pertinent now than ever, which is why this episode has been brought forward in the season. Considering how racism in your organisation can be perpetuated by, or how black people can feel excluded because of the way wellbeing strategies are designed is something that isn't being talked about enough.

In todays episode, Gethin speaks with Magdalena Bak-Maier, an international Neuroscientist, Founder of Make Time Count, Integration Pioneer, Grid Inventor, Author and Top Performance Coach. Magdalena believes there’s a way of being that is all head and little heart. Being this way can produce short-term results, but sustaining them can be a struggle. In fact, overlooking human need for connection harms relationships, hampers success and crushes life. It makes people spend time doing things they don’t care about with people they don’t like. But there’s another way. The alternative involves learning wisdom, compassion, love and curiosity.
