Duane Rieder is the executive director and curator of the Clemente Museum which is housed in a historic firehouse in the revitalized Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. Engine house 25 has been meticulously renovated to showcase the world’s largest exhibited collection of baseball artifacts, works of art, literature, photographs, memorabilia, and related materials which focus on Roberto Clemente, his teammates, his personal life, and his humanitarian causes. Before founding the museum, Rieder built a career as a commercial and sports photographer. In the mid-1990s he was hired to photograph the Clemente family in Puerto Rico, an experience that led to a close relationship with Clemente's widow, Vera Clemente, and ultimately to documenting and preserving the family's archives. Duane's relationship with the Clemente family gave him access to photographs, personal belongings, documents, and stories that helped shape the museum. Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois won a 2026 James Beard Foundation Broadcast Media Award for his streaming docuseries Duck Camp Dinners. His Texas Tour edition won the Lifestyle Visual Media award, which recognizes excellence in visual media and storytelling that connects food with culture, environment, and outdoor heritage. Bourgeois spent over a decade in high-end kitchens in New York and California before pivoting to digital storytelling and food journalism. Duck Camp Dinners documents the relationship between Louisiana’s hunting culture and environmental conservation. Bourgeois combines professional culinary technique with the outdoor traditions of his hometown, Thibodaux. The series airs across several platforms, including Outdoor America and Tubi.

Terry Collins has managed the Houston Astros, the Anaheim Angels, and the New York Mets in Major League Baseball and the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball. Terry started his baseball career as a minor league shortstop. He then went on to manage the Albuquerque Dukes of the Pacific Coast League and the Buffalo Bisons of the International League at the minor league level. He made his MLB managerial debut in 1994 with the Houston Astros. His longest tenure came as manager of the New York Mets, where he led them to their first playoff appearance in nine years in 2015, which resulted in a trip to the 2015 World Series. That same year, Terry won the National League Sporting News Manager of the Year Award.
His steady leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to player development earned him the distinction of becoming the longest-tenured manager in Mets history. Beyond the dugout, Terry has continued to serve the game as a special assistant, advisor, and ambassador for baseball. His enduring influence on the sport reflects a lifetime dedicated to leadership, perseverance, and excellence, leaving a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the wins and championships he helped achieve.
Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer are the award-winning husband-and-wife chefs behind London's beloved Honey & Co. family of restaurants, celebrated for bringing the vibrant flavors and generous spirit of Middle Eastern cooking to the heart of the city. Neil Smith has been a hockey executive, broadcaster, and former player, best known for serving as general manager of the New York Rangers from 1989 to 2000. He built the roster that ended the Rangers' 54-year Stanley Cup drought, culminating in the team's championship in 1994. Steve is a member of the 2026 class being inducted into the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame.

Riley Breckenridge is the drummer for the band Thrice. Riley began playing the drums in high school after tearing multiple ligaments in his legs while playing football. Being unable to play sports for several months, he bought a drum kit and taught himself to play. Originally, Riley had aspirations of becoming a professional baseball player. He played college baseball for Pepperdine. A middle infielder, he redshirted as a freshman and only saw limited action as a sophomore. After a coaching change at Pepperdine, he transferred to a junior college where he played for a year before giving up baseball to focus on music. Robert C. Cottrell is a writer with eclectic interests. Robert has written numerous books on topics ranging from American radicalism, the 1960s, and the counterculture to baseball, WWII-era conscientious objectors, and popular culture. His most recent work, The Heyday of Willie, Duke, and Mickey: New York City Baseball's Golden Age Amid Integration, involves a dissection of the ascent and descent of the New York baseball dynasty, with a close look at the New York Giants, the Brooklyn Dodgers, and the New York Yankees. That also involves an emphasis on those teams’ star center fielders, Willie Mays, Duke Snider, and Mickey Mantle, as well as the shift of the Giants and the Dodgers to the West Coast. John Coulson is the author of Wee Willie Sherdel: The Cardinals' Winningest Left-Hander. John Sherdel is Wee Willie's grandson and an important contributor to the book. They previously joined us on episode 136 to discuss the book and Wee Willie's many great feats on the diamond 100 years ago as he played with more than 90 future Hall of Famers and some of the greatest players of all-time including Ruth, Gehrig, Ty Cobb, and Rogers Hornsby. This week we welcome Steve Janaszak, former goaltender and member of the legendary 1980 U.S. Olympic “Miracle on Ice” gold medal-winning hockey team. Steve is being inducted into the New York State Hockey Hall of Fame.
Steve shares stories from his hockey journey, including his time starring at the University of Minnesota, where he helped lead the Golden Gophers to two NCAA Championships. He reflects on what it was like being part of one of the greatest moments in sports history at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York

Sandy Carter is the widow of the late Baseball Hall of Famer, Gary Carter. Christy, Kimmy, and D.J. are her and Gary's children. Gary's 19 year Major League Baseball career was spent primarily with the Montreal Expos and New York Mets. He was nicknamed, The Kid and was named an All-Star 11 times and was an essential member of the 1986 World Series champion Mets. In May 2011, Gary was diagnosed with a brain tumor and less than a year later he passed away at the age of 57. His statistics and intense play on the baseball field were more than enough to gain him entrance into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. But Gary was so much more than that and who better to tell about this great man than his wife and children who knew him as much more than a great baseball player; they knew him as a great husband, father, and human being. They share personal stories, cherished memories, and a side of "The Kid" that fans never got to see on the baseball field. It is a beautiful tribute to a man who left a lasting mark on and off the diamond.

Paul Mound is a member of the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame, having been inducted in the Class of 2017. He is the Head Baseball Coach at SUNY Adirondack. Paul previously served as Head Coach at Union College, where he became the all-time wins leader in the program's history. During his tenure, he built one of the most successful programs in the school's history, leading the team to multiple Liberty League Championships, NCAA Regional appearances, and several record-breaking seasons. Paul has been committed to not only winning on the field but also shaping well-rounded athletes. He has worked with players of all ages, from high school to collegiate athletes, and his focus has always been on player development, discipline, and instilling a love for the game. One of his notable achievements is mentoring Jake Fishman, who went on to be drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays and later played for the Miami Marlins. In addition to his college coaching experience, Paul founded, owns, and operates the Saratoga Stampede summer baseball program. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025, the Stampede currently has 14 teams and over 180 players.

Matt Nokes is a former Major League Baseball catcher known for his powerful left-handed bat, particularly during his breakout 1987 season with the Detroit Tigers. Over an 11-season career, he was an All-Star and Silver Slugger winner, playing for the San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Colorado Rockies. Nokes burst onto the scene with the Detroit Tigers, hitting 32 home runs and driving in 87 runs, earning an All-Star nod and finishing third in American League Rookie of the Year voting. He was the catcher for Jim Abbott’s no-hitter with the Yankees on September 4, 1993 and the survivor of an emergency landing in an airplane he was piloting.

Ken Davidoff has been covering Major League Baseball for 30 years. He served as a baseball columnist at the New York Post from 2012 through 2022. Prior to joining The Post, Ken wrote about baseball for Newsday and The Record. He has appeared on ESPN, the MLB Network, YES Network, CNN, and others. A former president of the Baseball Writers Association of America, Ken now works as an adjunct professor at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., teaching various journalism and writing courses. His latest project is the book, 101 Lessons From The Dugout: What Baseball And Softball Can Teach Us About The Game Of Life, which he co-wrote with Harley A. Rotbart, MD. Steve Somers nicknamed the Schmoozer, is a sports radio personality, best known for his work on the sports radio station WFAN. He has been with the station since its inception in 1987. Steve is originally from San Francisco, California, but his dream was to end up sportscasting in New York City. Marc Kestecher is the lead play-by-play voice for the NBA on ESPN Radio, as well as College Football on ESPN Radio. He joined ESPN in 1999 as an ESPN Radio SportsCenter update anchor, also provides commentary for ESPN Radio’s NFL and college basketball broadcasts, and he is a fixture at major events such as NBA All Star Weekend, NBA Finals, NBA Draft, World Series, MLB All Star Game and the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. In addition to his play-by-play duties, he hosts studio coverage of Major League Baseball, The College Football Playoff semifinals and National Championship game. Prior to joining ESPN, Kestecher was an anchor, reporter and talk host at WKNR-AM in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to that, he served as Sports Director at WPTR/WROW in Albany, N.Y. while also serving as play-by-play announcer for the Albany Patroons (CBA), Albany Firebirds (Arena Football), University at Albany (football and basketball) and St. Rose basketball.
