With only five teams not owned by billionaires in the league, we explore whether this marks a tipping point or the next evolution of the Premier League. Furthermore, we examine the potential ramifications of state ownership, including sports washing and controversial transfer dealings.

In our latest episode, we delve into the world of punditry and ask the question: is it time to have a serious discussion about pundits versus fanboys? We also explore the topic of ex-players in proper debates, and whether tribalism plays a part in their involvement.

Join us on the latest episode of Box to Box as we dive into the two biggest football games of the weekend - Chelsea vs Spurs and Man United vs Newcastle. We discuss what's going on at Chelsea under Potter's leadership, the mental health comments, and whether there is enough team depth to carry the Spurs on to the top 4. We also debate if Harry Kane will make a move this season and where he might go....not something that needs to be talked about much.
Moving on to the Carabao Cup final, we analyze the performance of both teams, including whether Casemiro deserves the hype and if Weghorst is potentially Man Utd's unsung hero. We also discuss what's next for United, ETH and their chances in the FA Cup and Europa League, and predict the future of Newcastle under Eddie Howe.

On the latest episode of Box to Box, we dive into the latest developments surrounding Southampton FC, and it's not looking good. With another managerial change, we discuss the team's struggles and what this means for their future. Will they be better off getting relegated? Is Jessie Marsch the right fit? What happened to their plan and recruitment?
We also can't ignore the poor refereeing standards, especially after a weekend of scandalous errors. VAR and general refereeing probably saw their worst weekend in memory. What needs to be done to change these contentious decisions? VAR was there to avoid human errors, and we're still getting them?
Lastly, we touch on the second iteration of the super league and its potential impact on football. We debate the pros and cons of the idea and what it could mean for the future of the sport. The last two weeks have provided enough fuel from our perspective to change the conversation within the Super League, especially with the lack of financial controls and refereeing debates. Is it rife now for teams to jump?
Join Ade, Maz, CJ and me (Kush) as we tackle these topics and more on the latest episode of Box to Box.

Join us as we delve into the hot topics of the football world on the Box to Box Podcast. We dive into the latest breaking news surrounding Manchester City and the allegations of breaking over 100 rules relating to Financial Fair Play over the last decade in the Premier League. Maz, CJ, and Ade also analysed the impact this could have on the league and how it could change the landscape of the sport. Our discussion then shifts to the on-field performance of the team, including the integration of Erling Haaland into the squad and his role in their attack.
The tough question was: Does a central goalscorer hinder or develop a team's performance? It's increasingly important to develop the relationship between a striker and their supporting cast. The debate went further to compare the contrasting fortunes of both Haaland to Kane, discussing the impact both have on their respective teams and asking if Kane is the greatest English striker of all time.
We also explore the importance of having a well-rounded attack in today's game and whether relying solely on a single striker is still effective. Listen and enjoy the Box to Box podcast.

Welcome to episode 18 of The Box to Box Podcast, where we bring you all the latest and greatest from the world of football. This week, Kush, CJ, and Ade got together to dive into the topic of transfers within the Premier League and how Brighton & Hove Albion is killing it in the transfer market. We had a lively discussion about the club's philosophy and how it sets them apart from the rest, as well as their approach to giving new recruits time to settle in and play attractive, attacking football. We also talked about the role of Lewis Dunk, who is an unsung hero in the team, and the club's smart recruitment through their relationships with academies and leagues. The guys also discussed Brighton's commercial partnership with AMEX and how it sets them apart from other promoted teams. Finally, we touched on the importance of data in football and why teams are now turning to Brighton to buy their players.

Welcome to the Box to Box. This week we had a bit of a debate between myself (Kush) and CJ. In this episode, we're taking a closer look at the role of managers, owners, and club DNA in shaping the success of English football.
From Newcastle's dire football to Liverpool's scintillating play, we'll explore how a club's heritage and legacy can impact its current and future performance. But it's not just about the clubs - we also examined the connection between a club's DNA and the players and coaching staff representing the English national team.
Is Eddie Howe the last hope for English managers? How do foreign ownership and managers impact English football? And what does it all mean for the national team's chances at glory?
Join us as we unravel the mystery of Football DNA on this week's episode of Box to Box Podcast.

In this episode of the Box To Box podcast, me (Kush), CJ, and Ade discussed the exciting final of the World Cup between Argentina and France, which ended in a draw and was ultimately won by Argentina on penalties. In this episode of the Box To Box podcast ……. (First sentence fine)
The game has been debated as being possibly the best of all time, with standout performances from both teams. The legacy of Lionel Messi, which in my opinion has now been cemented, was also a topic, as well as whether this win finally puts an end to the GOAT debate between himself and Cristiano Ronaldo. Whether the next generation of football stars have now been passed the torch, sparked conversation on whether Mbappe did this at this World Cup. We also discussed the Sky and L’equipe World Cup teams of the tournaments, with some baffling selections included, such as Harry Maguire. Finally we ended on the topic of why England might not be winning a World Cup anytime soon due to their lack of ruthlessness in the pursuit of victory. This allowed us to share our frustrations about Southgate remaining as England manager until after Euro 2024 as well as the general setup of the England football landscape. -
We're back this week for a video edition of the podcast with myself (Kush), Carlyle, and Maz. You get to see our lovely faces on camera for the very first time. We talked about Brazil getting knocked out of the World Cup and how the overwhelming favourites had performed. Were Croatia lucky or were Croatia street smart? Ultimately they face Argentina in the Semi Final but a certain GOAT has to have a say on that result ...Messi. We also looked at the other underperformers such as Spain and Germany. Does Luis Enrique getting sacked make any sense? We also unpacked whether Premier League clubs have made a splash at the World Cup or not. Lots to debate and we have a second segment waiting for you later this week.

Leon, Ade, and I recorded this week's Box to Box Podcast and we were watching the Brazil vs South Korea game at which point it was already 4-0. There was an interesting debate on this week's podcast, namely about the heritage of footballers and where next for African teams. We've seen them go out of the tournament et again and Morocco holding the sole flag for Africa vs Spain which looks like it's going one way if I'm honest. I hope I am wrong. We also touched on the tactics that we're seeing in the World Cup. Do you have to be a wizard to manage a team? Look at Southgate, Deschamps, LVG, etc all bringing something different to the table. Lastly, we also wanted to discuss, do players owe anything to African teams and their heritage or doest the continent needs to shift towards developing its own academy stars and leagues.

Yes, we know the World Cup is on and during the Portugal and Uruguay games, John and Sat found time to join me in a discussion about what we've observed so far at the World Cup. We talked about the changing face of football and the need for hybrid forwards. What happened to all the number 9's? Is it Ronaldo and Messi's fault after all? We took a bit of a journey exploring Spain's influence coupled timely with Germany's rise in the modern game and how that may have affected as well as influenced academies around the world. They just don't make them like they used to...maybe because they don't want them the same?
We also had to talk about the underperformance of KDB, Eden Hazard, and the rest of the aging Belgian generation. Where do they go next from here? Roberto Martinez was hailed as an amazing appointment, but looking back at it now I do not think he was the best bet. -
It's all kicked off, literally on and off the field. We're back this week after the World Cup kicked off in Qatar. Ade Carlyle and I thought it would be a good time to discuss our thoughts on what has been happening leading up to the World Cup, broadcasters becoming political, and where we actually take a moral stand. We tried not to be too political but were certain that 4 games into the World Cup, we aren't really looking at the football. Everything around the tournament does not feel good. We touched on the armband situation, classically VAR and where can we go from here seeing as more and more injuries are happening. Are we going to see the leagues from next year suffer?
-
This week we kick off the Box to Box podcast with none other than the interview that was dropped last night by Piers Morgan and Cristiano Ronaldo. Where do we go from here? It's only going one way and that's out of Manchester United. There is no way back! Maz, Carlyle, and Ade debate where does he go next from here and what do Manchester United need to do to move on? Everyone is looking toward the full Piers Morgan interview on Wednesday but until then it doesn't look good. We also looked at the Southgate team selection but debated an interesting topic around Trent Alexander Arnold's inclusion and whether he should start ahead of Kieran Trippier. Lastly, we went through mid-season awards and looked at the best signings so far, the best managers, unsung heroes, the best young players, and some of the flops of the season. Of course, we had a quiz at the end so stick around and enjoy!

Back to Back episodes for Box to Box this week. Unfortunately, the timing meant that the quiz couldn't take place on this one, the host had an emergency but some tactical discussions which were extremely interesting around gegenpress were explored. Is it fading out of style and what are some of the teams doing right now to counter the style? Klopp and Hasslehuttl clearly have some fading powers. Ade and Leon dive into what they feel is the reason for the decline. We also looked at whether KDB is just a City system player and why people think he cannot perform outside of that system. Lastly, Leon and Ade debated some of the outsiders and apparent favorites for the world cup. Can England finally bring it home?

A sleepy and dedicated John helped us out this week all the way from Australia with technical issues from our regular host Maz preventing us to have a front three. Carlisle our other regular host was also on hand for Episode 8 of the Box to Box podcast. This weekend has been incredibly eventful and that isn't even thinking about the football. We saw multiple last-minute winners and red cards all across the league. We focussed on Liverpool's owners publicly stating they're open to investment which has shocked quite a few people given the timing and what Liverpool was creating. Maybe it's the end of the cycle? We also touched on Southampton being the latest team to let go of their manager and how that will affect the mid-table clashes. Lastly, we looked at the Champions League and Europa League draw and put our predictions on wax.
