  • Episode 63 is here with Craig Jones from The Fore Cast Golf Podcast!

This week I’m joined by Craig for a brilliant chat covering everything from growing up with cricket and golf to becoming part of a golfing family where the game is truly a way of life.

While cricket had a good run, golf definitely won in the end

    We get into:

    How his golf journey started

Why golf has become a family affair, with his partner, son, brother and dad all involved in the game

How handicaps and tee boxes make golf one of the few sports where everyone can genuinely compete together

His home club and what it means to represent your club in team matches

Why team golf is so important and whether the PGA is missing a trick by not embracing more match play and team events

WITB, including a new driver that maybe doesn’t quite match the aesthetics

The majors, LIV Golf and the current state of professional golf

YouTube golf and the creators shaping the game today

And plenty more golf chat along the way, finishing with the usual laughs and debates you’d expect.

If you’re local to Craig, be sure to check out his home course slinford golf club, and make sure you give The Fore Cast Golf Podcast a listen too. I’ve now had Craig and Ross on the show… just Dave left to complete the set!

Less than TWO WEEKS until Ross and I take on The Big Golf Race challenge. The excitement (and nerves) are definitely building now.

  • Episode 62 is here and what a brilliant conversation this was.

Joining me this week is PGA Professional Millie May Tiller, and let me tell you, Millie has the kind of personality that can brighten anyone’s day. Her energy is infectious, and I came away from this podcast in such a good mood.

Millie started golf at a very young age thanks to her parents, especially her mum, who played a huge role in introducing her to the game and supporting her journey.

We don’t go too deeply into it, but losing her mum has undoubtedly had a huge impact on Millie’s life. Despite that, she continues to make her mum proud through everything she achieves, both on and off the golf course, including raising money for charity in her honour.

While that experience affected her competitive side for a period, don’t let that fool you. Millie may be enjoying her golf more than ever, but she’ll still do everything she can to beat you on the course.

    We chat about:

    Competing from a young age

    Turning professional at just 18

    What’s in the bag

Her favourite golf courses she’s played — and yes, somehow she picked my home course in Scotland!

Her partner Jack, who is also a PGA Professional (loser does the dishes for a week after their matches)

Starting her own business and taking a gamble on herself

Our shared love of JCB and how Kate, Millie and myself are apparently buying a tractor just to get an invite

    All this and plenty more.

Make sure you give Millie and her partner Jack a follow if you're looking for lessons.

For business enquiries, Millie’s email is below, and you’ll also find details of the golf course she’s affiliated with. Go and give them a follow, like and share and let them know I sent you.

  • Episode 60 is here and this is a really important one.

Joined by Barry Waearing (fndgolfer), current Scottish Open champion for golfers with disabilities, we dive into a conversation that goes far beyond golf.

Barry lives with FND often described as “the most common uncommon condition” and while he does incredible work raising awareness everywhere he goes, this episode also reminds you that he is far more than his condition. He’s a brilliant golfer, a genuine competitor, and an even better person.

We start with his incredible Scottish Open victory before getting into some deeper conversations around FND. Barry was incredibly open and honest answering questions, helping normalise discussions around conditions people may not fully understand.

    We talk about:

His golf journey and Scottish Open win

The daily physical and mental struggles of living with FND

What golf can do for mental health and routine

What needs to change in golf to create more competitive opportunities for disabled golfers

    WITB and golf ball chat

The most important thing golfers should practice

    The future of golf simulators

And of course, a round of This or That

Honestly, this was one of the most eye-opening and enjoyable conversations I’ve had on the podcast.

  • Chasing Pars – With Golf with Kate

This week I’m joined by what might genuinely be the busiest woman in golf founder of the Secret Society, organiser extraordinaire, and someone with more holes-in-one than me… it’s the wonderful Kate Steele

Massive thanks to Kate for finding time in her schedule to jump on for a chat.

    We get into:

How she first got into golf and the journey she’s been on

Her home club at Garon Park Golf Complex

Events she’s taken part in and some brilliant stories from past pro-ams

How the Secret Society first started and how much it’s grown since

Why the Secret Santa event has become such a huge success within the golf community

    What clubs she’s gaming

    Her favourite courses she’s played

Who would make her dream 4-ball and where they’d tee it up

    Her upcoming trip to Scotland

All this and loads more in another brilliant golf chat.

Make sure you give Kate a follow and check out everything she’s doing for the golf community especially the incredible work around the Secret Society

  • Episode 57 is here and it’s a special one as we welcome back our first ever 3-time guest

Malissa rejoins me to talk about everything she’s been achieving in her mission to get more women into golf and while she might not shout about it herself… I absolutely will.

In a previous episode she told us what she wanted to achieve — and she’s gone out and done exactly that. Huge respect.

    We get into:

Everything she’s been building and achieving in women’s golf

The recent Secret Society event hosted by Golf By Kate at Carden Park

Has she finally conquered her nemesis hole?

    The flag sponsorship

Women’s coaching classes and growing the game

    Courses she wants to play

    Upcoming competitions

  • Episode 56 is here slightly later than planned, but definitely worth the wait.

I’ve been wanting to get Matt on for a while now, especially after following his content during my own fat loss phase and becoming genuinely interested in golf-specific training (something I still need to properly commit to ).

    We get into:

    How Matt got into golf

His journey into fitness and how that evolved into specialising in golf performance training

Why this type of training is becoming more important for golfers of all levels

    Of course, we also cover:

His first set of clubs and what’s in the bag now

Where he’s based and why he made the move north

A round of This or That to finish

It’s a really insightful episode, especially if you’ve ever thought about improving your game through fitness and if it sparks your interest, definitely reach out to Matt and have a chat.

Massive thanks to Matt for jumping on during what is usually kids’ bedtime commitment to the pod

Looking forward to getting a round in soon… and maybe even letting him analyse just how badly my body moves

  • From a less-than-ideal start in football to a later route into golf, Craig’s journey to becoming a PGA professional is anything but typical and that’s exactly what makes this such a great listen.

Come hear Craig talk me through his unusual path into the game, how his goal was always to become a teaching pro, and how he’s now living that ambition every day.

    We get into:

His route into coaching and life as a PGA pro

WITB — including the brand deal with the company that should apparently never be mentioned

Why everyone should seriously consider a 7 wood

The range he works from and what day-to-day coaching looks like

There’s also plenty of opinion in this one:

A proper rant about outdated club rules around ladies and juniors

    Golf attire grievances

Why golf still feels behind the times in some areas

The rise of online coaching platforms like Skillest

And of course, we finish with This or That and plenty more chat along the way.

A brilliant conversation and one that definitely left me looking forward to getting a match arranged with Craig this summer.

  • Out Here Chasing Pars – Episode 53 ft. the founders of Hydra Caddie — Ross & Harrison

Episode 53 is here, and this week I’m joined by Ross and Harrison, the childhood friends behind Hydra Caddie a brand built around golf, health, and hydration that’s already making a serious impression.

These two have shared plenty over the years, junior golf, football, nights out, and now building a business together. Back in the golf world, they’ve created a product that genuinely stands out. I’ve tried the samples myself, thought they tasted excellent, and it definitely encouraged me to order more.

    We get into:

⛳ Their golf journeys from junior golf through the younger years

👜 First clubs, current bags, fittings, and of course a proper WITB chat

    🏠 Their home course

😅 Harrison’s absolute fear of wedges and the hole that gives him the most nightmares

We also spend plenty of time talking about what makes Hydra Caddie different:

💧 Why hydration matters more than most golfers realise

🏌️ Whether pro shops are missing a trick by not leaning into products like this

🚀 Their plans for the future and where they want to take the company

📈 How long it took to launch and how well it’s already being received especially with very little paid advertising, which says a lot about the product itself

As always, we wrap things up with a round of This or That and there’s plenty of good chat in between.

Make sure you check out the website, support the lads, and give them a follow across social media and let them know I sent you 👏

And if you enjoy the episode, please like, share, subscribe, and tell a friend it all helps grow the podcast more than you know.

  • Out Here Chasing Pars – Episode 51 ft. @emhyde_golf

What a guest and what an incredible journey. Emily joins me for one of my favourite conversations yet, and her story really shows just how far golf can take you.

From starting out with a plastic set of clubs in Scotland, to county golf and competing in England ladies events, Emily has built a brilliant playing career and is easily one of the most experienced golfers I’ve had the privilege of chatting to on the podcast.

Now, alongside all of that, she’s also showing the world that mums can still play golf at a high level 💪

👶 Mum to a 3-month-old, you’ll already find Emily sharing videos from the driving range with her little princess — and hopefully one day we’ll see them both out on the course together.

    We get into:

⛳ Her golf journey from junior golf through to elite competition

👜 Clubs, equipment changes, and what’s currently in the bag

🏌️ Her role in golf through coaching and volunteering

😂 Teaching her partner to play despite once saying she’d never date a golfer

🎟️ The event at Gaudet Luce Golf Club and everything they’re putting together there get tickets here

    https://www.blitzgolf.net/tickets

We also talk about something much more personal:

💙 How Prostate Cancer has affected her family

🎗️ My upcoming challenge to raise money for charity because it always hits differently when it’s for someone you know

There’s so much in this one, and honestly we were already planning a part two before we’d even finished recording. Hopefully next time in person.

  • Out Here Chasing Pars – Episode 52 (Special Extra Episode) ft. Kieran Mulhall

Episode 52 is a special one and with a guest like this, it only felt right to release it as an extra episode.

Joining me is the man I can only describe as bringing child-like, giddy energy to everything he does Kieran Mulhall, part of the Rough Cut Golf Podcast team and one of the key faces behind the content so many of us love.

This one felt a little different, because when someone from the world around Peter Finch joins you for a chat, you know you’re getting a unique insight into modern golf content. Like many people, Pete has inspired me to play more golf, create content, and even start this podcast but through watching the videos and the show, it was Kieran’s infectious personality that really stood out, so I’m genuinely grateful he gave up his time for this.

    We get into:

⛳ How he first got into golf

👜 A proper WITB chat including just how much fun it must be having access to all the gear they get around 😂

🎥 His journey into the role he has now — a job many golf lovers would genuinely describe as dream territory

📹 How much work really goes into every piece of content they produce (and why every creator deserves a little extra love in the form of a like and comment)

    We also cover:

✈️ Travel and life on the road

🎬 Content creation and creative process

🏌️ Tour pros and the wider game

🎯 A round of This or That

…and plenty more along the way

Honestly, Kieran is one of those guests you feel you could pick the brain of for hours.

I know many of you probably already do, but make sure you give him and the team a follow if you haven’t already 👏

  • Out Here Chasing Pars – Episode 50 ft. Jim (@bigjimdoesgolf)

Episode 50 is here half a century of Chasing Pars! Hard to believe we’ve reached this milestone, and it felt only right to mark it with a brilliant guest in Jim.

This one has been a long time coming. Between winter schedules and Jim welcoming a newborn baby, finding the right time took a while but it was absolutely worth the wait.

It’s a longer episode, so settle in and enjoy.

    We get into:

Jim’s unique start in golf and let’s just say, if it had happened to me, I’m not sure I’d ever pick up a 7 iron again

His current clubs, what he’s gaming now, and what changes could be coming next

With no home course to anchor him, we talk about courses far and wide and some of the places still on the wish list

This episode feels a little different from the usual format more like two golf obsessed lads chatting freely, which leads us into:

Where Jim wants his content to go

The type of content he really wants to create

Lists, debates, agreements, disagreements… and the occasional rant

We also tackle some bigger golf questions:

Who are your top 5 golfers of the 21st century?

Should golf have a 5th major and where would you stage it?

Who’s your favourite golf YouTuber right now?

All that and plenty more in a really enjoyable episode.

After that, we settle into his golf journey:

⛳ How he got into the game

    👜 Clubs old and new

🏴 All things caley golf Matthew is part of the team, gaming their irons and wedges and genuinely can’t speak highly enough of them

As you know, I’m a huge supporter of smaller brands. Not sure we can still call Caley “small”… but being Scottish? That’s something I can absolutely get behind. (I did try to get someone from Caley on the pod… they patched me 😂 we’ll try again.)

    We also chat about:

🏠 His home course — the standout holes and the dreaded nemesis

🎥 Content creation and where he sees it going

🎯 A round of This or That

🤝 And of course, we’ve pencilled in a match… if we can ever get the dates to align

Finally got the chance to sit down with the wonderful Hannah (even if it was over a screen!) — and what a chat it was.

    We dive into:

How she got into golf — genuinely the smartest reasoning I’ve ever heard by the way

Her clubs and the process of getting properly fitted

Why coloured golf balls are the move

Women’s fashion in golf — how far it’s come, how it’s still improving, and how there’s a massive opportunity for someone to really take over that space

The remaining stigmas around women in golf — and golf in general — especially with the post-Covid generation of players coming through

And honestly… who really cares what colour your socks are anyway?

We also chat about our upcoming Secret Society meet-up in April and plenty more along the way.
