Set in the summer of 1978, Roll Bounce follows Xavier "X" Smith (Bow Wow) and his close-knit group of friends after their beloved South Side Chicago roller rink closes its doors. Forced to skate at the upscale Sweetwater Roller Rink, they find themselves competing against the city's top skaters, led by the flashy and talented Sweetness. As X trains for the biggest skate competition of the summer, he also learns to cope with the loss of his mother, strengthen his relationship with his father, and discover what it truly means to grow up.
