  • Two weeks ago, a genius died.

Dr. Henry C. Lee, one of the first pioneers of DNA in detective work, and the investigator they call the "Sherlock Holmes of our times" went off to the better world.

Dr. Lee was the founder of my College at the University of New Haven. He was still working hard at age 86-years-old. We had several, long, intense conversations about various cases. At another time, I will write about his effect on me and his extraordinary personality but for now here is an reissue of an interview with Dr. Lee from 2021.

We spoke about one of his most famous mysterious death cases and to hear his description of blood stain splatter, DNA, and crime scene investigation is to hear from a true master.

    **

It was a killing that involved a Hollywood actress, one of the greatest musicians that America has ever produced, and a mystery that took almost 12 years two court trials and three legal appeals to resolve.

On February 2, 2003. Phil Spector, the man behind the Beatles album 'Let it Be’, John Lennon's 'Imagine', George Harrison's 'My Sweet Lord', and countless other top music hits, left his Los Angeles mansion. He came back at midnight with a gorgeous blonde actress, Lana Clarkson. They got drunk. He played the piano, they sang. But at two o'clock in the morning, there was a single gunshot that echoed over the neighborhood. And then Phil Spector stepped out of the door and said, "I think I just shot her".

    Or did he?

Because when the man known as America's modern-day Sherlock Holmes began to investigate, it was not so clear.

On CrimeWaves podcast - a master class with Dr. Henry C. Lee.

Dr Lee was the first pioneer of the linkage between DNA analysis and detective work. He is an expert in crime scene analysis and a superb investigator. He trains police forces around the world but, in this episode, he talks about this high-profile Hollywood crime case, the tragedy surrounding it and the attack on his professional reputation.

  • Jeffrey Epstein’s prison guard was accepting payments in cash. The official who was a short distance away from his cell the night he died - received thousands of dollars in cash. The guard’s bank deemed them “suspicious” and notified the FBI.

Again, like so many other things around the Epstein death an almost unbelievable perplexing lack of investigation - the guard was never asked to explain under oath the origin of these payments.

Nor was the five page handwritten summation of the other prisoners’ description of who was actually responsible for Epstein’s death ever publicly revealed - until now.

  • It is the ultimate, closed-room mystery.

94-years-ago, on March 12th of 1932, one of the richest men in the world, Ivar Kreuger, went into his Paris apartment. He never came out again.

At first, his death was declared a suicide and the authorities quickly burnt his body - despite orders to the contrary. Then thirty-three years later Ivar Kreuger's brother, mistress, and many others, came forward to say his death was murder.

The list of potential suspects is a very long one. It includes the Soviet KGB (very active in France at the time), the French government, Swedish business rivals, Anglo-American banks... but one thing is certain. Two days after his death, Kreuger was due to travel to Berlin to help fund the then-democratic government in Germany. He never made it to the meeting, and the government fell, leading to the rise of Adolf Hitler.

His death, in short, was life-changing for hundreds-of-millions of people around the world. Today, we examine Ivar Kreuger's incredible life, loves, and his mysterious death.

  • Dear Friends of CrimeWaves,

A change for this week's episode - an interview I did with the Protectors Podcast on the threat that gambling poses to US Sports. The headline is that US Sports Leagues are dancing with the devil. All the money they got from bookmakers seemed very seductive but there are more and more scandals linked to betting. Now, it is perfectly reasonable for a good-faith sports fan to doubt the integrity of the leagues and it will only get worse - much, much worse.

Note - this interview was done in October - BEFORE - all the new scandals in Major League Baseball (MLB) and the NCAA were revealed.

If you like the episode please check out my chums at the Protectors Podcast they are at: https://www.protectorspodcast.com/episode/when-the-game-is-rigged-declan-hill-exposes-sports-bettings-dark-side

This is the best independent investigation into what actually happened to Jeffrey Epstein inside that New York prison.
It is the result of a two-year investigation, by Declan Hill and his students, into Jeffrey Epstein's death.
We read tens-of-thousands of pages, interviewed dozens of people involved in the case.
In this final episode - we show shocking new evidence both for a possible verdict of self-harm or murder.
    - The FBI investigation of Epstein’s death was so bad that they destroyed a rope found inside his cell.
    - The prison paperwork shows a potential killer was in Epstein’s Unit that night who left at exactly the time the alleged killing was supposed to have taken place.
    - An independent panel of medical examiners examined photos of Epstein's body and saw contusions, abrasions and bruises - none of them were reported in the official autopsy report.
    - And we show you a shockingly similar, double-murder of members of Jeffrey Epstein’s political, circle the year before his death. Is there a connection?

    You are the judge.

On this episode, you get to decide what happened to Jeffrey Epstein inside that cell on the Special Housing Unit of the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Manhattan. If you have followed our CrimeWaves series on Jeffrey Epstein’s death - then you know more than most commentators, journalists and pundits.

After listening to the evidence - vote on the post on the CrimeWaves YouTube site or wherever you get your podcasts with a single word:

    Murder - Suicide -Undetermined.

  • In the Jeffrey Epstein document release by the US Department of Justice, there is one HUGE document that adds significantly to the case for the potential murder of Epstein.

On July 29, 2019 - 3.5 weeks after Epstein had ended the hell-hole of a detention center, his lawyers reached out to the Federal Prosecutors saying that their client was willing to consider flipping. In other words, Epstein was considering naming more powerful people in some kind of criminal case, in return for a reduced sentence. This is huge because it gives a powerful motive for those powerful people to shut him up.

Welcome to CrimeWaves. We are an independent, unbiased TrueCrime Podcast that specializes in investigations and the highlighting the best investigators in the world. • As peace negotiations continue around the world to - purportedly - end the Ukraine-Russian War. CrimeWaves re-releases our episode about the murder of the peace negotiator days after the war began in 2022.

The killing is still unsolved. It reveals the challenges - the murders of Ukrainian opposition figures and journalists, the deep CIA involvement in Ukraine, the Ultra-Nationalist Ukrainian forces, a police and defense industry both corrupt and saturated with Russian influence - facing those who want peace in Ukraine.

    **

It is the most Important, unsolved murder in the world today.
Just after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, peace talks began between the two countries.
A few days later, at the negotiations, there was an alleged case of poisoning where a number of the delegates, mysteriously, feel ill.
Then one of the Ukrainian team - Denys Kireev - was gunned down on the streets of Kiev.
Immediately after his death, another Ukrainian peace negotiator fled to the Polish border. He was arrested and put in prison for months.
Why were some of the people at these important peace talks targeted and by whom?
The peace deal between Russia and Ukraine was eventually sabotaged by the US and UK governments.
Yet three years after the murder there have been no trials or even an arrest.
On CrimeWaves, we are joined by Professor Ivan Katchanovski of the University of Ottawa to discuss the unsolved murder of the Ukrainian negotiator and the circumstances around the undermining of the peace deal that would have prevented the deaths of hundreds-of-thousands of people.

  • On the sixth anniversary of Jeffrey Epstein's mysterious death in a New York jail: the final episodes of the best independent investigation into what actually happened to America's most well-known prisoner.

On this episode - we examine the case of why 'a reasonable person' may believe that Epstein committed suicide

You will hear all the evidence that suggest that Epstein may have taken his own life.

You will hear all the details that government officials - Republican or Democrat - do not want you to know.

You will hear the appalling, inhumane conditions that the US prison system subjects its inmates to.

You will hear - and this massive breaking news - the previously unrevealed verdicts of a team of top pathologists who reviewed the case. The majority of whom said that the wounds on Epstein’s neck point towards suicide.

To be clear, we are investigators.

We do not “believe” that Jeffrey Epstein was murdered. Nor do we “believe” he committed suicide.

Here is what we do believe - you. We believe you - our listeners - are intelligent, independent and that, above all, you want the truth about Jeffrey Epstein.

In this series shows you the facts and evidence on either side of the case: homicide or suicide. Also all the areas, and there are a huge number of them, that were not investigated properly and that we still need answers to solve the case of what happened inside Jeffrey Epstein's cell on August 9/10, 2019.

Jeffrey Epstein’s death is one of the mysteries of our time.
Since his death in a New York City Prison cell there have been countless conspiracy theories, speculation, and conjecture.
However, only two medical examiners looked at Jeffrey Epstein’s body to discover the cause of his death.
In this episode, on CrimeWaves, we speak to one of those people.
Dr. Michael Baden is a legend in American law enforcement.
He has decades of experience, specifically, on prison deaths, and has been involved in a host of high-profile legal cases including working for the family of George Floyd.
After examining Jeffrey Epstein’s body, Dr. Baden says that the wounds indicate that Epstein was most likely killed by a person or persons unknown.
    It was murder.

It is a mystery that obsesses our time.
Jeffrey Epstein, one of the richest and most well-connected men in America, walked into prison. He was friends and a business associate of some of the most powerful people in the world - Presidents, Prime Ministers, Princes, politicians, business tycoons - the very top of the 1%er class.
He also ran a sexual trafficking network of young girls and women.
Just over a month later, he was found dead in his cell.
The official response? Immediately declare it suicide.
Many people around the world, did not believe it. So in the last four-and-a-half years, while there has been a great deal of rumour, speculation, theorizing and fantasy - there has been a distinct lack of proper investigation.
I an Investigation Program students of one of the finest academic institutions for the study of crime - the University of New Haven - have been examining the case. We have read thousands of pages of documents and interviewed people with real, first-hand knowledge about the case.
This is the story of Jeffrey Epstein’s death. This episode is an interview with one of the lawyers who met him just days before he died. And like most people close to Jeffrey Epstein - he does not think he committed suicide.
    He thinks it was murder.

  • This is the best investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s death.

Almost every other examination of his death promotes a political or social agenda. Read the New York Times? They will feed you the version that Epstein mysteriously killed himself and anything else is a diet of ‘misinformation’ and you are a moron for questioning the official narrative. Note - the official narrative leaves out that the prison was appalling corrupt and the conditions inside amounted to torture. It was in the heart of Democrat run New York City - the offices of the Times are less than a mile away but somehow that part of the story gets left out.

Watch Fox News and you receive a steady diet that Epstein must have been killed. Each theory is, of course, more wild than the last.

On CrimeWaves, we give you an independent look at all the circumstances around Epstein’s unexplained death. In the first four episodes, we interviewed his brother, lawyer and medical pathologist who all declared his death to be a probable homicide - and we gave all the extraordinary circumstances that would lead to a verdict of murder.

In these next episodes, we tracked down two high-level former drug dealers turned cooperators who were also in Epstein jail. They are convinced it was suicide.

In this episode, Jeffrey Epstein: A Lesson in How Jail Actually Works - we arranged a meeting between Mark Epstein - his brother - and one of those former high-level drug dealers to speak about conditions inside the prison and why the ex-inmate still believes it was a suicide.

It is one of the most famous locked room deaths in American history.
On July 6, 2019 Jeffrey Epstein was arrested and put into a cell of a downtown Manhattan detention center. He was the most famous prison inmate in America. He had hung out with Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, bankers and billionaires. He was also a serial sexual abuser.
Within thirty-five days - he was dead.
Almost all of the world wondered how such a famous prisoner could die in jail.
My students and I have spend the last year-and-a-half reading thousands of pages of legal documents, government reports, released internal emails, news media stories, books, and, conducting a series of astonishing interviews.
This is the story of what actually happened to Jeffrey Epstein.

  • Matoaka Pocahontas, the legendary daughter of Powhatan, has been one of the most misunderstood stories in American history.

The last chapter of her life is particularly intriguing.

She was sent to England to meet King James Ist. It was part investment trip for the Virginia colonies. Part a spy trip for her father to check out his potential enemies.

Matoaka Pocahontas was relatively well-treated by the English Royal Court. One person described her, "as the most noble person there..."

But when Matoaka left England, she boarded a ship, had dinner with her old kidnapper - the man who had human trafficked her - and was dead within two days.

Was her death from natural causes or was the real cause much darker...?

The inside story of the most preventable, human-made disaster in history: the Covid virus that has affected countries around the world and killed somewhere between 18 and 24 million people.
In our first episode - 'The Silent Chernobyl' - we showed how laboratory leaks occur frequently across the world but in China the safety standards are so low that it is common practice for some technicians to sell lab animals to local butchers for meat. We examined the grotesque lack of professional standards in Chinese medical labs - researching, against all common sense, dangerous viruses.
In the second episode - ‘The Big Lie’ - we showed how Communist Chinese officials suppressed any investigation that may show the incompetence of their research infrastructure.
Throughout these episodes - we told the stories of what happened in China using their words of the extraordinary whistleblowers like Chen Qiushi or Zhang Zhan - who have been imprisoned, tortured and possibly killed for their work in exposing the appalling response by the Communist officials.
In this third episode, we examine how the Communist Chinese regime has been aided in their cover up by some of the largest international organizations, media companies and scientists.
We call it ‘The Big Silence’...

  • This week (January 2025) the CIA announced that they believe the origin of Covid came from a laboratory leak.

"Our intelligence, our science and our common sense all really dictate that the origins of Covid was a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology."

    Finally.

Three years after CrimeWaves released our series - The Slow-Motion Chernobyl.

These are episodes that we, at CrimeWaves Podcast are both very proud of - the research is in-depth, shocking and has been proven absolutely correct - and still traumatized. For this series and CrimeWaves was deliberately censored and shadowbanned by both Twitter/X and LinkedIn at the time of broadcast.

Please listen, you will hear nothing partisan, no personal or political attacks but it is the story of the greatest man-made plague in human history.

It was a slow motion Chernobyl.
Here is what, the balance of probabilities tells us about the origins of this Covid epidemic that haunts us all.
It was the worst industrial accident in the history of humanity.
In general, Chinese laboratory technicians are so badly trained, so ill-paid and so mis-guided that some of them used to sell infected research animals to local butchers.
The specific virologists in Wuhan lab played God. They created super-virulent viruses, more powerful than anything natural.
Their methods like “finding a gas leak with a match”.
Their science so misguided nine years ago an academic warned of an 80% chance of a global epidemic.
When the near-inevitable leak came, they covered it up.
The Communist Chinese jailed anyone brave enough to warn the world.
The World Health Organization (WHO) helped them.
More than 12 million people have died and continue to die.
    It could happen again.
On crimewavespodcast.com - we examine, in a special five-part series, the ‘Crime of the Century’ - how it occurred and how it was covered-up.
