This soft-Sapphic movie maybe can't be called a masterpiece but it has some fine moments and memorable scenes. Featuring the amazing Drew Barrymore and Sara Gilbert as two very different teenage girls thrown together to develop a very toxic relationship, and the adults that don't or can't protect them played by Tom Skerritt's moustache and Cheryl Ladd's silky robe collection. Specifically Garfield & Friends (1988-1994), where Garfield is voiced with a classic sardonic and laid-back attitude by Lorenzo Music, and Garfield Minus Garfield (2008-current) a post-modern Tumbler sensation by Dan Walsh. Garfield, the comic strip and media franchise, was drawn and created by Jim Davies in 1976 but originally called "Jon". The comic was renamed "Garfield" the following year due to the orange cats' undeniable charm. Stan a true Gen X king along with Sarah and Lauren as they dip in to Garfield, Odie, Nermal, Arlene, the long-suffering Jon Arbuckle, Liz and MORE! There is so much to tackle about this beloved franchise, this is just a dip into the Dipperz nostalgic faves.

Skip third period with the Dipz and bask in the glory of Dirty Girls (1996), a short film by Michael Lucid. This peek into peak 1990's teen culture explored the daily reality of "the dirty girls", a group of alternative students at Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California. Meet Amber, her sister Harper, Carly and Lauren and then see them through the lens of the other and often older students the filmmaker Michael included, who gave them the name dirty. The film was shown locally after it's completion, and some of the students interviewed expressed regret at how they came across in the film, with one even apologizing to the girls for her comments. A cult classic document of girl culture well-loved by many, the Dirty Girls story is both nostalgic and reveals some dark realities. Several follow-up shorts are available that check in with the girls over a decade later, and show how following your truth and challenging norms can lead to amazing, creative lives.

Formed in 1994, this 5-piece smashed all norms for girl groups and received five Brit Awards, three American Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, three MTV Europe Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award and three World Music Awards before Geri (Ginger) left the group in late 1998. They outsold Prodigy and Oasis to become the highest earning UK music group of the 90's, and they are the highest selling girl group of all time with over 100 million international album sales. This week, the Dipperz stick to some classics, chatting about the "Wannabe" music video and "Spice World" (1997) which took in more than 100 million dollars in worldwide box office earnings.
