On this week's episode of Droughtlander Diaries Podcast, we are diving into one of our favorite Rapidfire questions!
When we interview cast members, we always ask: If you had to give a five-minute TED Talk on any subject, what would it be about? Sarah's answer is always Taylor Swift, while Jess's is the Enneagram. Other than Outlander, these are the topics we're most passionate about and could easily turn into full TED Talks.
So this week, we're bringing Sarah's TED Talk to life as we explore the surprising ways Taylor Swift's lyrics seem to mirror some of our favorite Outlander storylines and characters. Joining us for the conversation is our friend Shani, a fellow Outlander fan, Taylor Swift enthusiast and content creator, who brings some fantastic insights and perspectives to the discussion.
Now, we know not all of our listeners are Swifties and that's ok! This is all meant to be a fun summer episode to help pass the time during the Drought before Season 2 of Blood of My Blood arrives. Whether you're a lifelong Taylor fan or just here for the Outlander discussion, we hope you'll enjoy this lighthearted look at the connections between two stories we love.
We also created a Spotify playlist featuring all of the songs discussed in this episode. If you'd like to listen along or revisit our selections afterward, we'll link it here for you!

On today’s episode, we’re so excited to bring you our interview with the fabulous Lotte Verbeek. Known to Outlander fans as the unforgettable Geillis Duncan, Lotte has also appeared in The Borgias, Agent Carter and The Blacklist.
In this conversation, we chat about her career, motherhood, fandom and her journey from a small town in the Netherlands to screens around the world. We also discuss her time on Outlander, playing one of the show's most iconic characters and perhaps most importantly, how to live your best life as a ginger. Oh, and there may be a little witchcraft thrown in as well.
We hope you enjoy this conversation with Lotte as much as we did!

Today on the podcast we wanted to take a step back and reflect on our own Outlander journeys, how this story found us, what it’s meant to us over the years and the ways it’s completely changed our lives. We also wanted to hear from you, the Droughties, because one thing we’ve learned is that Outlander has never just been a TV show or a book series. For so many of us, it became a comfort show, a safe place, a community, lifelong friendships, and even a turning point in our lives.
And now, as we all continue navigating the emotions of this chapter coming to a close, there’s a real sense of grief that comes with it. So today’s episode is all about reflecting, reminiscing, celebrating the memories and honoring what this fandom and this story has meant to all of us!

Well… we are here. The day we thought would never come has finally arrived. We watched the final episode of Outlander ever, the series finale, and for the last time we sat down to recap a brand new episode together.
After years of surviving Droughtlander together, countless theories, tears, laughter, reunions, heartbreak and love… it’s impossible to put into words what this story has meant to us. Not just as viewers, but as people. This show brought us friendships, memories, opportunities and a community (our Droughties) that truly changed our lives forever.
And while this may be the end of weekly episode recaps, it will never be the end of what Outlander created. The story lives on in all of us and thankfully, so do the conversations.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for listening, crying, laughing, screaming, theorizing and surviving Droughtlander with us all these years.
We’re emotional. We’re grateful. And we’re honestly not sure we’ll ever be ready to say goodbye!
Don't worry though, this is not the end of Droughtlander Diaries Podcast! As long as you keep listening, we will keep bringing you the Outlander entertainment! We love you!
