Well folks, Justin and Autumn are back at it again with another jam-packed episode of Easy Diz It! This time, they're tackling the controversial topic of how to use Disney's Genie+ system without being glued to your phone the entire vacation.
They kick things off with some friendly banter about Autumn's car troubles and the woes of car shopping as a couple. But soon enough we dive right into the main topic.
Justin gets fired up reading a strongly-worded 1-star review from a guest named Edward. Poor Edward felt like he spent more time stressing about Genie+ reservations than actually enjoying himself. Cue Autumn reeling Justin back in - they agree constant phone use takes away from the magic of family time at Disney.
This leads into their helpful tips for minimizing phone time with Genie+. First up is the "Use, Make" strategy - book your first Lightning Lane at 7am, then after using it, book your next one. Only check for modifications during scheduled breaks. Simple but effective!

Next is hiring the Standby Skipper app to book your Lightning Lanes for you. At $25 a day or $5 a week, Justin and Autumn debate if the convenience is worth the cost.

Save money- You can also save money by using the single rider lines instead of buying whatever skip the line product is available. At Disney World, there are only 4 attractions that have single rider: Millennium Falcon, Expedition Everest, Test Track, Rock n Roller coaster. Universal Studios has a ton of single riders. And most other theme parks have them too. Single rider lines are usually best when the ride vehicles seat 4 or 6 to a row. Two by two roller coaster usually aren't that good. Expedition Everest being a huge exception.
Avoid hassle- Wait less for food and drink by sitting at the bar. Toothsome's Chocolate Emporium was my latest example. Fantastic restaurant, tough to get a seat. Bar seating was available on a Saturday night!
Have more fun- Strike up conversations in line.
If you're like me, fun can go either way for this type of thing. Social initiations can be a lot of work and anxiety producing. So here are some things I do.
Opening line: Have you been on this yet?
If the answer is brief the conversation is over.
If the answer is enthusiastic either way, a follow up might be: Did you like it? or Have you heard anything about it?
At this point youâve done your work for an initiation and the ball is in their court if they want to keep the conversation going.
Document the line experience. If you donât want to talk to people, or you are socially drained: Pretend you are a theme park journalist or vlogger. It gives you something to do!

Walt Disney Animation Studios has partnered with Lighthouse Immersive Studios, the producers of the blockbuster Immersive Van Gogh, to develop what they're calling the Disney Animation Immersive Experience. Bring in tasty morsels, make it good stuff you usually donât get. Remember things melt in the Florida heat. Keeping your blood sugar from dropping will prevent those impulse food purchasesAvoid hassle- Travel in September, October, the beginning of December, the end of January. Lines are better.
