Hello Lovelies,Taylor Swift dropped her much anticipated new offering ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ on Friday and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, it was a double album of 31 tracks. So it’s safe to say most Swifties spent a bajillion hours trying to consume, analyse and find all the hidden Easter eggs within it. Thankfully Em and Michael ushered in the experts to assist them in breaking it all down, not only do we drag our own in house Swiftie and cameraman James up to the microphone, but we also have Emsolator and professional Swiftie Kassy on the phone, and we got all the DM’s we got from other Emsolation Swifties too. So expect much discussion about every element of the release, from first reaction when it was heard, to Em and Michael’s favourite Taylor Swift album, and even why this one isn’t it for either of them. There’s also a lot of mentioning of Michael’s email address, in case you are bent out of shape over everything he says, Kassy is shook by some of the stuff James says, and there’s lots of chat on who Taylor is coming after with each of these tortured poems. Em and Michael even get their own phones out and start doing their own filming so it’s worth watching this episode if you’ve upgraded to our Extra Extra tier.

Hello Lovelies,So Mariah Carey is now a bonafide Las Vegas live act with her ‘The Celebration of Mimi’ having started on April 12 and Em and Michael have much to discuss. There’s the fact Mariah hardly moves on stage, seemingly mimes the entire show and even has a conversation with her childhood self to work through. There’s also a side quest into Madonna’s visit to her son Rocco’s art exhibition and claims that she tried country music before Beyoncé did. Plus we need to talk about the lack of interest and mad scrambling that Jennifer Lopez is experiencing, having announced her ‘This Is Me…Now Tour’, then rebranding it the ‘This Is Me…Live: The Greatest Hits’ to now deleting a number of concerts from the schedule. It’s an episode full to the brim of all your favourite problematic divas, living all their usual diva like dreams, HUZZAH!!

After spending the entire Easter Long Weekend listening to the latest offering from Beyoncé, her ‘Renaissance: Act II’, Em, Michael and Marchella are ready to dish on Bey’s tribute to the roots of country music ‘Cowboy Carter’. Together they will do a track by track dissection of the entire album, although their interest does waver near the end because there’s 27 tracks to work through. They also were probs a smidge exhausted after they have a teensy bit of an Em said, Michael and Chella said moment, around the song ‘Protector’. There’s accusations of gaslighting and ganging up, and we’re not even sure if they even properly resolve it, but sweet baby cheeses it is glorious to hear the passion they all bring to it. There’s even a debate between Em and Chella about where each of Em’s children sits in ranking as her favourite, which also includes the family dogs. Basically is all the passion you know and love, with maximum Beyoncé reference throughout.

Hello Lovelies,Today Em sits down with someone she befriended a year ago while working at The Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Great Debate, Lizzy Hoo. As you’ll hear inside, it's been a while since they acted on their new found friendship, but at least when they eventually did, they invited us to be there to listen in, HUZZAH! Lizzy is a writer, equal parts noodle and pie enthusiast, designer, actor, sport enthusiast and a stand up comedian who recently hosted the Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala, which is now streaming on ABC iView. Inside she’ll reveal how she and Em first met, why she did the pivot from her day job working as an account manager in marketing to becoming a full time stand up comedian. There’s also her “successful” stint doing poetry recitals at Eisteddfods, her YouTube famous brother, her father being a lot like Em’s Dad Vincie and her journey to a career in stand up. It’s a delightfully funny ride that you’ll thoroughly enjoy.Find out more about Lizzy here:Touring Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney & Brisbane https://comedy.com.au/tour/lizzy-hoo-hoos-that-girl/Comedy Gala Host https://iview.abc.net.au/show/melbourne-comedy-festivalWebsite https://www.lizzyhoo.com/Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lizzyhoo/TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@lizzyhooFacebook https://www.facebook.com/lizzyhoocomedy/

Hello Lovelies,Today Em and Michael talk through the news that Rebel Wilson’s upcoming memoir ‘Rebel Rising’ contains a chapter devoted to the awful experience she had working with one particular famous actor. Earlier this week, Rebel revealed in a since deleted Instagram story, that the actor in question was threatening her with high priced lawyers and PR crisis managers and as a result she revealed that the actor in question was Sasha Baron Cohen. Em and Michael are both in awe of her decision to speak publicly about it and inspired by her taking control of the situation, especially when it’s usually the whistleblower in these situations who gets the worst blowback from speaking up. Em has encountered experiences of intimidation and gaslighting on a number of occasions throughout her media career and Miichael has also been witness to much the same in his career too. Together they’ll discuss why they might have chosen not to name and shame in the past, and Em will also offer up a bit of homework for any Extra subscribers who are keen to do some extracurricular research.

Hello Lovelies,Today Em and Michael UPDATE their thoughts and feels on the Kate Middleton situation. As more information comes in, including unconfirmed, but also undenied by the Royal household, video footage, Em reserves the right to adjust her expectations on whether or not we deserve to know more. Hence they will both offer up their latest reactions to the current developments, with a side quest on Meghan Markle returning to Instagram and launching her own lifestyle brand as well. Oprah gets a visit too as we discuss her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel to talk about her upcoming weight loss special and acknowledgment that she’s been using an unnamed medication to aid in her own weight loss. Then it’s onto Em and her dad Vincie hitting up the F1 Grand Prix this weekend, where we talk through the fact that Geri Halliwell will probably be there, just so Michael retains some interest, with a side quest into if the national anthem will be sung by a sing-ger and Beyoncé releasing Country Carter the week after too. We also get a review from Michael of Em and Chella’s performance together on last week's episode.

Hello Lovelies,Today Em sits down with her eldest daughter Marchella to talk through her last minute decision to attend the Pitch Music Festival with her friends. As a supportive mother Em was totes on board with the idea, even though Chella only decided a week before the event to go. Chella, it should be known, is also more a fan of musicals and Beyoncé, than she is of electronic music and festivals, she also doesn’t like camping, or dust, or large crowds of people. So it was understandable that Em was totally sceptical about Chella’s choice to attend a 3 day camping weekend, at a festival in the countryside, in 38 degree heat, roughly 200kms from Melbourne, but still TOTALLY supportive of her decision. Of course, as you’ll hear in this week’s Emsolation, or would have seen if you were watching Em’s instagram stories over the weekend, Chella opted for an early Drag Queen show and another viewing of Wicked the Musical over attending the Pitch Festival. However it’s all the prep, the expense, the pretending she was cool with it, and the why and how comes of all of it, that we need to hilariously breakdown in today’s Sealed Section.

Hello Lovelies,Today we take you to another edition of our special VIP Q&A session, this time it’s the one that happened before our second Emsolation Live show at the Malthouse on February 21. Inside Em and Michael answer questions like “Has Em written her stern letter to the AACTA Awards yet?”, plus “Can we get an update on the bike-rack robbery?” and even “Has Michael started listening to Em’s fave erotic audio app yet?”. They also take on suggestions to upgrade Michael to a Wikipedia page that doesn’t reference the other Michael who does erotic movies, plus Em reveals a childhood trampoline injury and uses it to create a brand new superhero.Watch the full Emsolation Live show here https://vimeo.com/917850014?share=copy

This episode of the Sealed Section will see Em and Michael bring together their opposing theories on the “Kate Middleton is missing” news story. It’s been reported that Kate hasn’t been seen publicly since December last year (although she has recently been spotted with her mother) and naturally the internet has a bajillion theories on why that is.Inside you’ll hear Em argue that a person's medical conditions are none of our business, while Michael argues that, as a Royal who is supported by public money, we have every right to know the ins and outs of their health. There’s also Em’s theory that Queen Camilla is running her own version of the movie ‘Saltburn’ (don’t worry Michael will explain the theme of that movie for those who haven’t seen it - obviously spoilers within). Plus we play a little game where Em reveals what item pops into her head whenever Michael say a celebrity's name, the results will surprise and delight you, plus a lot of them make total sense, so enjoy.

Hello Lovelies,Today we take you to the special Q&A session that happened before our Emsolation Live show at the Malthouse on February 15. Hello Lovelies,It's been a while since Michael’s had a chance to regale us all with tales from his favourite food chronicler and hater of her Mother, Barbra Streisand. Aside from cataloguing her food and hating on her mother, Barbra is of course a world famous sing-ger who just received the Screen Actors Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Naturally, when you’re receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, you need to get up on stage and give a much longer speech acknowledging a lifetime of your achievements. Thankfully Barbra did that with all her usual style and Em and Michael are now poised to ‘Okay, Stop!’ their way through it. Truth be told, they never got to the end, but they also stopped the speech so many times, they probably didn’t need to finish it. You can watch Barbra’s efforts while you listen using the link below, we also check out Anne Hathaway talking to her Italian fans, you’ll understand why when you listen to the full episode.Barbra’s Speech https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TPfQvu2KB8Anne Hathaway https://www.tiktok.com/@metro.ents/video/7331046282125004064

Today Em and her eldest daughter Marchella sit down to answer your AMA questions starting with an ‘Am I The Arsehole?’ from Emsolator Brooke. Brooke recently stumbled on a rogue charge in the family account and decided to investigate, only to discover her partner had been having deep and meaningful chats with a single woman available in their area. Yep, you guessed it, the ‘single woman in their area’ turned out to be not human at all, but a bot designed to grift money off horny men online. Then Em offers advice to an anonymous AMA from an Emsolator who is feeling lost amongst her neurodivergent household, from managing her own magic brain and being peri peri chicken, to dealing with a small child who won’t move out of the parental bed and a neurodivergent partner who helps around the house but they feel like there is a never ending list of things they both need to do that they can’t seem to get on top of. That’s followed by another anonymous Emsolator who’s a single mother of three, a carer for both of her divorced parents, still has to deal with her ex on the regular and has no idea who they actually are anymore or how to find themselves again. There’s LOTS of great tips and advice within, plus a heap of actionable ideas that will help everyone.

Earlier this week Em shared a reel on Instagram about being perimenopausal and how the level of hormones she’s currently operating with is so out of whack that everybody and everything is annoying her. Understandably this resulted in a flood of DM’s and replies from other people experiencing the same sort of rage. So in this episode Em will sit down with Michael and explain exactly what’s been going on, from taking lists of her symptoms to her doctor and bursting into tears, to the secrecy surrounding it and how Michael’s mum explained it to him when she was experiencing it. We also dive into how little we were told about it during sex ed, and how more teenagers need to know the full story, even if it’s just so they understand what the women in their life are actually navigating.Watch the original reel here https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3gt8-jyum6/?igsh=MTNzOWQ0ZjRna3JhcA==
