Hu: A kezdeteknél fogunk, ami nem volt olyan rég, igaz? Búg a Duna, a hídon árnyékok futnak át, a Gellért-hegyen pedig alig pislákol néhány villanyfény. Budapest, a magyar föld szíve, ahol a város szélén ringatózó búzaföldek és a cuha összefonódik a pesti macskaköves utcákkal. Ott találkozott Eszter és Gábor egy nap.
En: We will start from the beginning, which wasn't that long ago, right? The Danube murmurs, shadows run across the bridge, and on Gellért Hill, only a few lights flicker dimly. Budapest, the heart of Hungarian land, where the wheat fields swaying at the edge of the city intertwine with the ragpicker alleys of Pest. It was there that Eszter and Gábor met one day.

En: János lived in Budapest, where he easily found his happiness. There was the Danube, the charming Castle District inhabited by the monarchy, and there was Éva, the girl living in his heart.
Hu: Évnél volt egy barátja, István. A szobrász. Öntött bronzból és szenvedélyből szobrokat készített. Egyik nap Isván szobra a város központjában jelent meg. A szobor olyan realista volt, hogy még János is összetévesztette egy valósagról vett emberekkel.
En: Éva had a friend, István. The sculptor. He cast sculptures out of bronze with passion. One day, István's sculpture appeared in the city center. The statue was so realistic that even János mistook it for real people.

Hu: Budapest, a lüktető szív, melynek ritmusát a Duna kavargása szabja meg. A város, melyet a hídak szövete tart össze, térben és időben. Gábor, szerény, középkorú férfi, immár évek óta törzsvendége egy kávéháznak, mely a híres Andrassy úton található. Nála, több szokásával együtt, az egyik a legkülönlegesebb: megpróbálja elmagyarázni a magyar nyelvet az Újvilág hívének.
En: Budapest, the pulsating heart, whose rhythm is set by the swirling of the Danube. The city, held together by the fabric of bridges, in space and time. Gábor, a modest middle-aged man, has been a regular at a café located on the famous Andrassy Avenue for years. Among his several habits, one stands out as the most unique: he tries to explain the Hungarian language to a follower of the New World.
Hu: Ez a nap sem volt különböző a többi napjától. A városban lüktetett a reggeli forgatag, az emberek fel-alá szaladgáltak az utcákon, Gábor pedig leült kedvenc kávézójának asztalához, olasz eszpresszóval és a legfrissebb újsággal. Szeme sarkából észrevett egy lányt, a kávézó új vendégét. Ő volt Linda, az amerikai turista, aki először járt ezekben a tájékon.
En: This day was no different from any other. The morning bustle in the city was in full swing, people were running up and down the streets, and Gábor sat down at the table of his favorite café with an Italian espresso and the latest newspaper. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a girl, the café's new guest. She was Linda, the American tourist, who was visiting the area for the first time.

En: The autumn sun bid farewell to Budapest, tucked in by a layer of leaves, as Peter, Eva, and Zsuzsa approached the foreigner, George, leaning against a tree in City Park, looking lost.
Hu: Ő volt George, egy angliai vendég, aki már kinőtt a Buckingham Palota és a nagy köd közül, hogy Budapest utcáit és népének szokásait fedezze fel.
