Today, on the road to Zion, we speak with Ryan Turkienicz who is the cofounder of The Daily Brine satire-news page. The Daily Brine was created in the wake of October 7th to combat the meteoric rise of antisemitism on social media using satirical news headlines and comedic articles. They have amassed over 20,000 followers across platforms and over 10-million impressions in just over a year and continue to grow rapidly. More recently, Ryan was chosen to be a part of the inaugural Voice of the People council assembled by President Isaac Herzog to work on solving the largest challenges facing the global Jewish community.

If you donât know Amanda Peterson, she has been a staunch non-Jewish ally of Israel even prior to October 7th. She was one of the first people I connected with when I started creating content and has become a good friend in the process. As two former party political operatives, she for the right and me for the left, we decided to take the plunge into a special podcast series discussing how to fix the Democratic Party.
Both of us believe itâs vital for a viable, normal Democratic Party to exist because even as a Republican, Amanda knows her side wonât always win; as such, there might as well be someone not crazy in a seat of power.
Hopefully you enjoy two people who disagree on a lot of issues actually end up agreeing on what the problem is with the Democratic Party, and how it needs to change to ensure it doesnât go the way of the Whigs.
