The BCHL playoffs are underway in both Alberta and British Columbia as the Spruce Grove Saints and Okotoks Oilers face off in the Wild Card series to determine 4th place and a date with the Brooks Bandits. Saints General Manager Rob Skalruk joined the show to preview the series and discuss his role as Vice-President of Hockey Development with Silent Ice Sports and Entertainment.

A lot has happened since our last show before Christmas and Brandon Ewanchyshyn joins Dean Millard on each show to break down the big stories. One that is creating a lot of conversations involves the AJHL and the cancelation of games as well as Shawn Belle and a group of independent hockey players being stopped from attending an independent hockey tournament in Detroit.

Dennis Beyak has spent more than half a century behind the mic and called his last game at the World Junior Championship in Sweden. He joined the show to recap the tournament, the Winnipeg Jets topping the league standings, and his illustrious career. Brandon Ewanchyshyn is just getting started on his career in sports broadcasting and has built a powerhouse production company at 4Vengeance Media.

In our final show of 2023, we welcomed former NHL Linesperson Brad Lazarowich, now the Vice-President of Hockey Operations with the British Columbia Hockey League. Brad had a stellar career with trips to the Stanley Cup final including 2003's iconic New Jersey/Anaheim 7-game series featuring Paul Kariya's comeback moment. The former official also pulls no punches when it comes to the tactics used towards independent hockey.
The President of 4Vengeance Media Brandon Ewanchyshyn also joined the show to discuss a monumental day in the history of the city of Spruce Grove and the Spruce Grove Saints regarding a new arena. The team will head into the holiday break on a high after defeating Blackfalds 4-1 at Grant Fuhr Arena, in what was the start of the long goodbye to the only home the Spruce Grove Saints have known. We also wrapped up the Winter Championship from excellent hockey to terrific stories it was a wild full season of hockey packed into 5 days!
We end the show with the legendary Gene Principe and his opening to our Sunday broadcast.

It was a pleasure to welcome 4-time Stanley Cup champion Craig MacTavish to the show as we discussed the Oilers now and then as well as winning it all at MSG with the Rangers. Richard Nault, JPHL Commissioner is gearing up for the Winter Championship which will have a large crowd of scouts in attendance. Mike Snee is the Executive Director of College Hockey Inc. and was recently in Alberta for an AJHL tour.
