  • The 2021 EP "These Distractions Are Constant" introduced Box Elder's raw, confessional approach to indie rock. But the self-titled debut LP, arriving April 3, 2026, marks the project's true arrival. For the first time, Box Elder is a full collaborative effort, with each band member contributing to the sound and vision. The result is an album that maintains Archuleta's emotional core while expanding the sonic palette in exciting new directions.

These songs don't shy away from difficult territory. The album directly confronts mental health struggles, charting the highs and lows of anxiety, the weight of lost love, and the persistent fear of never quite finding where you belong. Four years of experiences are distilled into urgent, melodic anthems that balance vulnerability with resilience. Drawing influence from The Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, The Menzingers, The Wonder Years, and Silversun Pickups, Box Elder crafts guitar-driven songs that hit with both emotional and sonic impact.

Archuleta took on production duties himself for the LP, his first major self-recording undertaking. The learning curve was steep, but the result speaks for itself, an album that captures raw intimacy without sacrificing clarity or power. The striking cover artwork by Stella Vickland-Davis features mannequin pieces controlled by box elder bugs, a visual metaphor the band had always envisioned: the small, unseen forces that guide us through uncertain times.

Box Elder has built their reputation through relentless touring and memorable performances. Highlights include appearances at Treefort Music Festival 2023 and Denver Underground Music Showcase 2025, multiple west coast tours, and support slots with Agent Orange and Black Lips. In May/June 2026, they'll embark on their first east coast tour with MK Naomi, bringing these songs to new audiences.

After fifteen years of making music, this LP represents Archuleta's most complete artistic statement. It's proof that Box Elder has found their voice, and their place.

  • In nearly a decade, songwriter Sonia Weber’s ability to pen precise lyrics and memorable riffs has become laser-focused. As a result, the songs feel like they’ve been assembled with all the intention and care of a mixtape to a high-stakes crush. Caleb Misclevitz, Ellian Conroy, and Derek McNeil round out the band, bringing the giant loud guitar rock feeling these songs require. The Portland outfit crafts songs big enough to fill an arena while simultaneously conjuring the emotional intimacy of making out in the bathroom of your favorite karaoke bar. Alien Boy does this by harnessing the raw power of PDX’s Wipers’ but not being afraid to embrace the pop catchiness of rock titans like Oasis or Third Eye Blind, all while crafting a tone and power distinctly their own. Whether listened to in your headphones in bed or witnessed live in person, Alien Boy leaves an emotional crater that’ll keep you coming back for more .(Gem Fair).

  • A powerhouse of 90’s-tinged indie-rock, alt-pop, Loviet (pronounced like soviet with an L) has established herself as one of Canada’s brightest up-and-coming artists to watch, supporting critically acclaimed artists The Beaches, Giant Rooks and Jesse Jo Stark, and performing at festivals such as Lollapalooza (Chicago), Summerfest (Milwaukee) and Riot Fest (Chicago) “delivering a show that is fit for an arena" (Megan LaPierre, Exclaim! Magazine).

Her EP The Nighttime Is All In The Timing earned Loviet Music Nova Scotia’s Rock Recording of the Year and East Coast Music Awards Breakthrough Artist of the Year. This five-track offering, produced by Cacie Dalager and Bradley Hale of American indie-rock band Now, Now is sonically expansive and emotionally charged, described by Loviet as “…lots of guitars, energy, power, and mess”. From the unabating urgency of her boldly breathtaking anthem “Broken Lips” to the unapologetic roar of “Star Treatment,” The Nighttime Is All In The Timing finds Loviet soundtracking moments of reckoning and raw reflection through catchy and cathartic upheavals that hit hard and leave a lasting mark.

Loviet is further bridging the gap between her praised live shows and recorded catalog, featuring a more rock driven, unblushing portrayal on latest single releases STIFFY, CHEERLEADER and PLUSH, produced by Loviet.

  • "With the perfect mix of melody, aggression, and energy, Portland, Oregon’s FeverSleep land somewhere between the worlds of punk and grunge–if genres are your thing. But, this is no rehash of a bygone era. These well-seasoned musicians pull from a diverse array of influences to create something fresh but just familiar enough to feel like you’re welcoming an old friend.

Consisting of former members of Young Livers, Dikembe, and Lock and Key, FeverSleep’s debut self-titled EP is characterized by its ferocious thrum of overdriven bass, prowling riffs, and soaring melodies rounded out with a touch of melancholy. Imagine a more melodic Helmet or a more aggressive Sonic Youth, buoyed throughout by a driving wall of noise and haunting choruses reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr. and Constantines. Finally, they throw in some DC-influenced energy and vigor for good measure."

  • Colatura makes music that lives in the in-between: sometimes dreamy, sometimes heavy, and laced with fuzzy guitars, undeniable hooks, and raw storytelling. Long a fixture in the Brooklyn scene, the band relocated to Pittsburgh in 2024 and now splits their time between both cities.

Colatura’s new EP 'If I’m Being Honest' came out August 1st via Easy Does It Records. Produced by Nixon Boyd (Hollerado, Dizzy), the EP plays like a series of late-night confessionals - introspective, nostalgic, aching, and ultimately cathartic. It marks a new chapter for the band, expanding on the melodic, dreamy indie rock of their 2022 debut LP 'And Then I’ll Be Happy' and their 2024 A/B side 'Do You Miss Her' / 'Suffer Dude', which was produced by Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma, Kills Birds, Been Stellar).

Colatura’s music has earned praise from outlets such as FLOOD, Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar, Austin Town Hall, The Alternative, and Atwood Magazine, and landed spots on Spotify editorials such as All New Rock and Fresh Finds Rock, as well as regular radio rotation at stations like KEXP and WYEP, where they also performed a live set this past February. Described live as “like sunshine streaming out of an amp with the volume set at nine,” Colatura has shared a stage with bands such as DEHD, Slow Pulp, Mamalarky, Nation of Language, Toledo, Pom Pom Squad, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and will be supporting Blondshell this November.

With official showcases at SXSW, Capitol Hill Block Party, NXNE, New Colossus, WYEP’s Summer Music Festival, and Pittsburgh’s Millvale and Northside Music Festivals under their belt, Colatura is carving out their place in the indie rock landscape. Following the EP, the band hit the road for a US headline tour and has a European tour slotted for this fall.

  • "M. Byrd found himself in a wholly foreign place upon becoming a father for the first time. Enveloped by the moment, the German singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer transfers this energy onto his 2025 full-length offering, A Better Place [Nettwerk]."

"He took the first step on this perpetual journey as a kid obsessed with music back in Germany. During 2020, he introduced his sound with the single “Mountain,” eclipsing 10.9 million Spotify streams and paving the way for the Orion EP. The latter boasted another fan favorite “Morning Sun,” which gathered 6.2 million Spotify streams. 2023 saw him serve up his first full-length LP, The Seed. Along the way, he incited tastemaker applause from EUPHORIA., 1883 Magazine, OnesToWatch, and more."

"Around the same time, the onset of fatherhood turned his world upside down in the best way. It effectively divided the writing process of A Better Place into two halves—physically represented by his young family’s move from Hamburg to Denmark."

“There are all of these songs before the birth and all of these songs after the birth,” he affirms. “I was able to reflect on myself and what was happening. I said, ‘Goodbye’, to a lot of friends in Hamburg and started a new life in Denmark. All of these changes happened, and I was really trying to put them into songs, so I would have them with me forever.”

"Ultimately, M. Byrd soundtracks the most universal experience of all: change."

  • On this week's episode we welcome the punk band RESTROYER. from Salt Lake City, Utah. Restroyer. is a a no-rules celebration of punk rock in all its forms. Blending fast melodic skate punk, gritty hardcore, and classic 90s vibes, they write love letters to the sounds that shaped them.

The SLC-based quartet specializes in the punk rock that you may remember from the late nineties or mid-aughts – think a mixture of the political approach of Anti-Flag, the upbeat skate punk of Lagwagon, and a bit of grizzled Rancid energy. It’s tied up in an aggressive but digestible ten-song package that highlights its crusty punk rock roots without sacrificing a studio quality that begs for repeat listening.
