  • How many different careers are too many careers? Do you sometimes feel like a jack of all trades? What happens next? Do you feel like you would be good at something else too if you gave it a shot? Do you feel you could do better than another person who currently has the opportunity you wish you had? Whatever industry you are in, and whatever jobs you are applying for, we all have seen rejections from one place or another. This doesn’t always mean that we do not have the capabilities to perform the job, but it sometimes just means that we are not what the company or person is looking for. This is very apparent in the movie industry too.

As our guest says, if you are not the vibe that they are looking for, then it’s going to be hard to get a call back for a certain role, no matter how good an actor you are. Our guest Isha shares her experiences from project management, acting, classical singing for 14 years and so much more. We also share some interesting discussion about her interest in Criminal psychology, reading books and looking into cases, studying body language in court proceedings and other interesting details to look for. Listen in to this week’s episode to get a wide ranging conversation and discover how Isha plans to take further steps to achieve her goals of becoming an actor!

  • Have you ever thought about walking onto a movie set and becoming an actor by honing on skills you learned as the youngest sibling? Do you know the feeling of having to save conversations with friends so you can keep them natural for another time? How do you create hard stop points when you work from home?
Not every Industrial Designer is a 3D Print enthusiast, but our guest today purchased a printer while we were still in school. Since then, he has invested countless hours trying to make products that people love. Not having found a role in the kind of work he wanted, he sought to create products where he not only made money, but earned high praise. His most famous product is one that the Nerf Community has provided so much positive response for. Listen in on this week’s episode as Andrew provides his insight into creating and running a podcast, finding a niche for the kind of work you want to produce, competing in a world of critics, and so much more.

  • From being mistreated by men at work, to recently marrying her childhood crush, our guest shares the most incredible stories from her life. From being one woman in twelve designers, one of the eight females out of the almost 100 employees, and from being the youngest employee on the team, Katy shares her fascinating story of being able to find a balance to stand up for herself while still not losing her own temper. She also speaks to us about her passion to become a leader for little girls all around so they can stand up for themselves and be confident.

Our guest this week is not only an artist, but also a varsity volleyball coach. We talk about finding balance, and finding time in an otherwise hectic schedule. We also speak about making and following budgets and how that has been different since she has been married. From bringing a positive mindset back when one comes home with an extra gift to the other being stressed about how much the gift cost. From being spoken over at work, to being able to lead her young girls team to the nationals and proving the haters wrong. Listen to this week’s episode where stories like these range from self doubt because of external factors, to self confidence because of a belief in your own abilities, and much more.

  • Moving abroad and being in a culture that is totally different from what you’re used to is often not everyone’s cup of tea. Being in a place where people sometimes have to touch your skin or your hair to realize that you are a real, actual human can be scary for some people. Those that go through it with an open mind and a willingness to share and learn are some of the most diverse individuals. It’s honestly sad that not everyone that is willing to go through this experience gets this kind of opportunity because it can be an eye-opening and horizon-broadening time of one’s life.

Our guest this week not only went through this experience when she studied abroad in Taiwan, but also goes through it almost all the time now as an English teacher in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. But how did Jam get from wanting to be a full time designer to teaching in East Asia? She shares her experiences and takes us through a journey from searching “creative jobs that pay well” to the happy and satisfied place that she believes she is in now. We speak about drawing comparisons with those around us and while it’s not a topic we had similar views about, we give two different perspectives of that, both with very valid arguments. Listen in to decide which one you think you support, and to learn much more on this week’s episode!

He provides insights and misconceptions about the shoe industry and shares his experiences from Pensole Footwear Design Academy and New Balance.

  • This episode stands for multiple different things, one very important being - Allowing ourselves to make the decisions we need to make, without getting highly influenced by those that tell us they have more experience, so that we’re not blaming them if things don’t go our way. We believe everyone’s experiences are different, and it is hard to emulate or imitate exactly the same situations of others simply because they have lived longer than us. It goes without question that one can learn from others' experiences, mistakes, experiments and successes, but there is something more in just figuring things out the hard way, and it’s not just about the joy of achievement but countless other things about experiencing the journey. Chanah, who grew up in a country where she says she didn’t look like the rest of them, moved to another where, although she looked like the rest of them, faced an identity crisis within herself. We talk about decision gambling, how the meaning of success can change from country to country, culture to culture, and situation to situation, what Chanah believes she has learned from the 4 and 5 year olds around her and much more. Listen in to hear more about that, and to discover more about the time that Chanah had to dress up as a font, and follow a certain design aesthetic! Is chaos just a by-product of being a millennial/Gen-Z?

Time management, working for deadlines, and setting priorities...Tushar shares his road to achieving a way that works for him. Listen in as we speak about having ping pong tables, soccer fields, and more such places and things that companies now provide to keep their employees around, and to keep them happy! Listen in as we uncover Jacob’s journey from giving the ACT exam 8 times to getting promoted at his NYC financial job multiple times in one year. Find out how a southern country boy from Alabama went to speaking fluent Mandarin at his internship in China and plans to create blogs showcasing the world to people from his individual perspective. We then speak about the fear of letting go from a company and how he is always planning to make sure he has something to fall back on! The Gucci belt, the expensive car, other dumb purchases we all make when we get our first jobs might or might not be worth it. • To raise awareness about September being the Sucide prevention Month, and World Mental Health day coming up on October 10, we thought we’d invite someone who has been working in the mental health industry for the past year. Currently a clinical psychologist at Cathena Education and her own company Amicus Therapia, Gyanada has helped many in need. In this episode, we discuss with her the process of thinking from the other side of the room. We talk to her about what she thinks are some things that people can do and be when things don’t go their way. Everyone’s life is a twist, and we all have mixed emotions throughout a day. One moment we are happy, and the very next, without knowing what happened, we are going down a spiral of self doubt. Listen in as Gyanada talks about what we should do to control our emotions. We talk about self help, getting diagnosed with a mental health disorder, talking to friends about problems, and much more. We, at Kadam, are big advocates for therapy because oftentimes, those in therapy have to be there because those that should be are not.
