Of course, losing is inevitable throughout the course of a lifetime. We all lose at some point.
But loosing is not loosing, it's the way to learn to win.
Here is how we can teach our kids to lose gracefully:
1. Start young
2. Don’t let them win (all the time)
3. Validate their feelings
4. Embrace a “practice makes you better” mindset
5. Differentiate between “earning” and “deserving” wins
6. Avoid using traditional measures of success
7. Look for lessons
8. Acknowledge disappointment from losing
9. Practice good sportsmanship
10. Be a role model for your child
11. Talk about luck and chance
12. Use a growth mindset and focus on effort
13. Turn losing into an opportunity to reflect and learn
14. Being a good sport after winning or losing
