It's often difficult to facilitate and maintain close connections.
As parents, there can be so many distractions and responsibilities pulling for our time.
It's hard to press the pause button and be present and intentional to connect with our kids.
As kids, there are priorities like school, friends, sports, and play, but how often does connecting with Mom & Dad make this list?
Our society is fast paced, busy, and often disengaged.
What does it look like for us to engage and connect with intentionality?
As parents we have approximately 18 years to establish connection, but also to help our kids learn, grow, and practice for life on their own.
If our kids are going to spend a lifetime making decisions, then we should help them learn how to make decisions and navigate life while they’re home in our care.

Parenting a child with special needs or disabilities can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but it can also be challenging and emotionally exhausting.
It is easy to become overwhelmed and exhausted, leading to burnout.
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress and frustration.
It can leave you feeling drained, helpless, and unable to meet the demands of your everyday life.
The problem is that we, as caregivers, are in such a constant state of stress that it becomes “normal” for us and we fail to recognize when we are on the edge of burnout.
The constant battles we have to fight to get our young people the support they need, transitioning from one educational placement to another and when your child transitions from education to social care - becoming an adult.
Join us for a conversation with Tansy Muller as we chat about the signs of burnout and practical strategies you can use to help yourself navigate it.
You’ll walk away from this conversation knowing you’re not alone, and you’ll have tools you can use to improve your own well-being and resilience.
