  • I am so excited to share this episode with you.
I had the absolute pleasure of grabbing a coffee and having a Zoom chat with the fantastic Philippa Stewart of Just Dahlias in Cheshire.
I will not spoil too much of our conversation but as mentioned in the episode, I have included all of Philippa’s contact info should you wish to find out more.
If you've time, I certainly recommend taking a look at the Gardeners World episode to see just how amazing Philippa’s home and Dahlia farm are.
Don't forget, I'd love to hear from you whether you're enjoying this podcast or want to get involved and talk about your love of all things composty. I especially want to hear from you if you've found fun and innovative ways to include your children in the garden too.
I hope you enjoy this episode... connect with Philippa below.

  • Hi friends, how have you been?

Sorry, it has been a while. Life has been a roller coaster since we last chatted.

In this episode, I thought I'd share a little about what we've been up to, how the cubs have settled in and some of the beautiful things we saw at the Chorley Flower Show.

I'd love to hear from you if you want to share any thoughts, ideas, feedback about gardening or parenting. If you have a passion for both, please get in touch!

  • Hello friends.

It's been a glorious weekend, I hope everyone has managed to take advantage in some way, even if it's just an ice cream in the garden.

I've spent most of the weekend picking weeds and pinching sprouting plants. I foolishly threw some Californian poppy seed in the beds last year too so I've been taming that a little as it's now starting to come up everywhere. My pear tree doesn't seem to have been pollinated which is a shame but I have an apple tree that looks to have loads on there so hopefully we will have some delicious fruit later in the year. We also discovered some housemartins have built a nest in the eaves of the house and a HUGE woodpigeon has nested in the tree out front so summer will be full of babies for all of us.

We're not far from our panel date now and within the next few weeks, our days are going to be busy with getting-to-know-you sessions, preparing a house and freaking out over what / how / where we need to be as we prepare for bridging. With all that in mind, earlier in the week Neil and I sat and had a brew in the kitchen and reflected on the journey so far.

As always please don't hold back with any questions, thoughts, ideas or even garden tips!!

  • Hello everyone.
Thanks so much for the kind comments and messages. I thought I'd share a little more about where we are and what I am hoping to get out of this podcast.
I recorded this on a pretty special day for us both as earlier that day we had met our children in person for the first time. Obviously that was amazing but it was also quite challenging for me personally, I share more of that in the podcast. Sorry that I’m a little out of breath and the Audio isn’t brilliant but I was elbow deep in compost and weeds at points. Quite a lovely place to be.
I hope that you enjoy listening and please do let me know what you think.

  • Hello everyone!

Welcome to the Potting on podcast. This is our little space to share about how we navigate life as allotment owners and as adoptive parents.

This episode is just a welcome really and to say hello, I / we will be sharing information (appropriately so) of our adoption journey, the ups and downs and of course when it happens, the emotional rollercoaster that is parenthood.

I'll also be sharing about the garden (and one day an allotment), what we're doing and how we're doing it. I am definitely 'winging it' in the garden and I feel like that will very much be a theme that carries into both elements of our future life.

I hope you enjoy listening and join us on this journey. I'd love to hear from you too! If you have any questions about adoption or have yourself adopted, or if you want to share your own gardening tips, honestly, it would just make my day to hear from you. The best way is on Instagram/email I reckon.. you can find us on @pottingonpodcast or email us at [email protected].

I guess that's all there is to say really.

    Bye bye for now.
