  • Happy 2024! Sacred AF Podcast is excited for the year to come and is starting off casual with this guest conversation episode around beginning your journey to embodiment. Join Bharat and Jas and Jas’ bestie Talina Van Essen as they share their own experiences of realizing how much they weren’t in their bodies and what life is like after making the journey downwards

In this episode examples of ways for you to build your bridge to make the journey from head to body, if you resonate with being stuck in your thinking brain, are shared. This is so common in our world that prides itself on strong intellect and ration and reason. We have all experienced feeling stuck because of what's going on in our minds.

This episode intends to shed light to this important work and challenge that so many of us face.

  • With any psychedelic experience, difficult experiences are highly likely. But the presence of a difficult experience does not equal a bad trip and Bharat and Jas feel it is important to distinguish the differences between the two.

In this episode, Bharat and Jas decipher the big and small differences between a difficult experience and a bad trip so that it is clear. Once that groundwork is laid out, they share many ways to navigate bad trips to help you move into safer territory. They also share ways how to avoid bad trips altogether.

It is important to understand that we do not speak to avoiding or managing difficult experiences as these are valid and important to go through for our healing. In a society that confuses pain and discomfort, and is discomfort adverse a lot of the time, it is important to start to accept these experiences as they are if we want to experience true, embodied and sustainable healing.

  • With the growing popularity of psychedelics, B and Jas wanted to take time to share their perspective with you about how you can make the most of your healing experiences. Access to psychedelics, especially mushrooms, has never been easier, with storefronts, grow your own kits and microdosing companies now offering macro-doses in various forms. Because of that, The Scared AF Podcast feels it is important to speak to the topic of healing with psychedelics from the context of amplifying their benefits.

Some of the topics that are covered are:

The importance of an eyes closed experienceChoosing to work with a professional trip sitter, as opposed to loved ones holding spaceJudging your first experience and chalking these medicine up to “it doesn’t work for me”Attempting to recreate your first or past experienceDoing too much research and staying in your head

There are a few other topics touched on and tons of golden nuggets throughout this episode. If you enjoy it, leave us a review and come follow us on Instagram (@bthymedince + @healwithjas) to learn more from us and hear about our latest offerings with these magic medicines.

  • If you resonate with the title of black sheep, cycle breaker or outcast, this episode is for you.

Bharat and Jas both identify with this term and in turn their clients are notoriously cycle breakers, whether they know it of not.

Being a cycle breaker is no easy task but for those who have taken on this role, they know it’s not a path that one can easily step off of. Once we recognize our truth here, we also recognize that ignorance is truly bliss.

Because of that, Bharat and Jas have dedicated this episode to the cycle breakers in hopes it will offer some reprieve and guiding light.

    They discuss:

many misconceptions of being a cycle breaker Many challenges of being a cycle breaker Their own experience with family, being cycle breakers Tips and tools to navigate this important yet challenging work.

They hope to inspire confidence in choosing yourself in this way if you identify with breaking the cycles that clearly serve no one.

If you want to feel more supported on your journey as a cycle breaker, consider immersing yourself in a container with Bharat and Jas during 2024 to support yourself on your path.

  • Are you finding yourself frustrated on your healing journey because things are not going as you expected? This may be the episode for you to help put things into perspective and ease some of that frustration.

Having expectations for specific desired outcomes is common. Without these expectations, you may not be motivated to take any action. The problem is that when you get attached to these expectations, you overlook what is unfolding before you. Your mind gets fixated on the destination and you can't hear the whispers of your heart and soul.

Fact is, the journey you have embarked on is very individual, intuitive and requires surrendering to the mystery.

Jas and Bharat share a lot of stories to illustrate the most common expectations people get caught up in and reflect on them with their wisdom.

  • As psychedelics and other sacred indigenous medicines become popular, something that needs to be emphasized is developing a relationship with them. Consciously or unconsciously, we may approach these medicines with the colonial and capitalistic mindsets of dominion, exploitation, and objectification.

Jas and Bharat hope that this episode will remind you that these medicines have consciousness. They are living spirits. They use the analogy of dating to demonstrate that building a relationship with the medicines requires effort, integrity, communication, reverence and reciprocity.

It is a short episode packed with a lot of nuggets!

  • Bharat and Jas dive deep into the energy behind emotions in episode 10 and share their perspective on how emotions can be messengers for us, delivery what we need to know and pay attention to in our emotional and subtle energy bodies.

There is so much conversation out there on emotions, how to manage them, how to regulate them, but what do these emotions that keep popping up for us actually mean?

In a world that loves to pathologize emotions, we hope this episode gives you a different perspective and helps you understand how to honor and acknowledge your emotions as a way of managing or regulating. This is a different approach than finding tools and practices that move you out of the emotion and bypass the experience of truly feeling.

Like always, this information must be taken in with discernment. There is no one size fits all protocol here and we bring up self awareness a few times because only who can know what the best approach is for you in this current season.

We touch on how masculine and feminine harmony can be achieved internally and externally through getting to know our emotions more intimately.

Anger, grief, jealousy, rejection and anxiety are a couple of emotions we touch on.

  • Whether you are a pro at doing your rituals or have been wanting to start doing them, you will find some nuggets of wisdom in this episode.

    Jas and Bharat discuss :

What are ritualsWhy we need themThree things that make any activity a ritual (intention, presence, discipline)Why people find it difficult to do their ritualsSome of the misconceptions around rituals

By the end of the podcast, you will certainly want to do your fucking rituals!

If listening to our podcast every week is a ritual for you, consider joining our community HERE and get access to the behind-the-scenes audio / video, early access to episodes before they are released as well as opportunity to join us once a month for a live recording of an episode where you will be able to be part of the conversation!

  • If you have been listening to the podcast you have heard Jas and Bharat mention trauma numerous times. In this foundational conversation, they unpack trauma for a deeper understanding of what it is and the difference between small t and capital T trauma.

Because Capital T trauma has been heavily studied and talked about, most of us are not aware of the small t traumas that create our subconscious beliefs, our world views, behaviours and even our personalities. Small t trauma makes us abandon our authenticity and need for attunement just as capital T trauma does, but in more subtle ways.

This eye-opening episode is rich with general and personal examples and Jas & Bharat hope that it provides some insights for your healing journey.

  • If you feel nervous or anxious about participating in group healings, then this episode is definitely you!

We talk about all the aspects and concerns of group healing, whether it is a psychedelic or medicine ceremony or a sober experience like breathwork or communal rage session. There’s a vulnerability to this that is so powerful.

This conversation starts by going over why group healings are a non negotiable for a sustainable, grounded healing journey. Although participation can feel overwhelming, reasons are offered as to why you should lean in.

Bharat and Jas dive deep into the common fears that show up for folks when the thought of participating in group healings is something new for you. It’s quite normal in our culture to feel this way and if you are ready to let go of these fears, this conversation offers a ton of mental reframes to offer you potential new perspectives.

The chat finishes with the copious amount of benefits of group healing containers and why you would want to participate in such a thing.

If you listened to this episode and feel inspired to lean in, there are a few spots left in the 2023 retreat offerings. The Bliss Retreat in August has 2 spots left and The Void Retreat in September has 3 spots left. Reach out to us on Instagram to chat about joining us!

  • Episode 5 is our first live episode with our membership community (if you aren’t apart of this community yet, what the heck are you waiting for? Join here: https://www.patreon.com/SacredAF) Every month we other this community to be apart of a live recording where they can participate in the conversation and ask questions.

For the first live episode, Bharat and Jas talk about The Art of Holding Space.

They started by defining space holding, giving it a working definition for the conversation.

They talked about what gets in the way of space holding, or what might mask itself as spaceholding when it is something different. From an ego with an agenda to savior complexes to over giving, Bharat and Jas bring it all the to the table.

Space holding as a profession versus space holding in a relationship and some nuances between the two and personal experience with both are discussed. They share a perspective of space holding in romantic relationships and how it offers bringing divinity into the relationship.

The idea of holding space for self is discussed and how it allows for masculine-feminine alchemy. Examples of what that might look like are given.

Bharat and Jas talk about the initiation for professional space holders and the challenges of stepping into this type of work. They discuss what it takes to provide this type of service and what their favorite part of being a professional space holder is.

The conversation finishes with answering questions from the audience.

  • In this foundational conversation, Bharat and Jas break down what is masculine energy and what is feminine and get clear on important vocabulary.

Masculine and feminine energies are innate to each human being, regardless if you are in a male or female body and regardless of what gender you choose to express.

The concept of masculine and feminine energies will come up in many different conversations here on Sacred AF Podcast so definitely check this episode out to grasp these concepts that will be weaved through future episodes.

Bharat and Jas speak to their individual experiences of embodying both masculine and feminine energies and the challenges they have both faced when doing so.

Other topics discussed on the topic of masculine + feminine:

How these energies show up in the light and the shadow

How these energies can alchemize with each other in order to feel more whole

The societal constraints and pressure around the healthy expression of both masculine + feminine energy

Some of the challenges that could arise when healing and alchemizing the masculine + feminine energy
