Personal Journey and Shift to Nutrition:

During the interview, Orvel shared his personal journey that began with his move to the United States in 1993, during which he gained weight and decided to change his lifestyle. He extensively researched nutrition and health, adopted a rigorous exercise routine, and made significant dietary changes, leading to a substantial weight loss of 50 pounds in eight weeks.

    Philosophy and Dietary Approach:

Orvel emphasized that "you can't outrun a bad diet," highlighting that exercise alone is insufficient without proper nutrition. His approach to diet focuses on prevention rather than cure, advocating for a diet rich in fruits due to their water content and natural sugars which support body detoxification and health.

    The Fruit Feast Challenge:

Orvel created the "Fruit Feast Challenge," a program that encourages participants to eat primarily fruits and engage in regular exercise. He cited numerous success stories from participants who experienced significant health improvements, including weight loss and reversal of chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension within the challenge’s duration.

Whether you are someone just starting out or a senior citizen who want to get healthy, a fruitarian diet will get you there.

    Common Misconceptions and Clarifications:

Orvel addressed common misconceptions about fruit sugar, explaining that the natural sugars in fruits are different from processed sugars and are essential for cellular health. He also discussed the importance of fiber in fruits for maintaining a healthy gut microbiome.

The podcast included a live Q&A segment where Orvel answered audience questions about healthy eating tips, the best fruits for health, what raw fruits he eats in a day, the role of diet in managing diseases, and specific dietary practices.

  • In this engaging episode of my "Six Weeks of Fitness" podcast, I interview Dr. William Davis, a renowned cardiologist and bestselling author of the Wheat Belly series of books, Undoctored, and most recently Super Gut: A Four Week Plan to Reprogram your Microbiome, Restore Health and Lose Weight. During the interview, Dr. Davis will provide some valuable insights and practical tips to enhance our well-being through natural and informed choices. Here's a summary of the key points discussed during our interview:

Microbiome's Impact on Health: Dr. Davis elaborates on the critical role of the gastrointestinal microbiome in overall health. He explains how modern lifestyle factors like antibiotics, food additives, and processed foods have negatively affected our gut health, leading to a range of health issues including obesity, heart disease, and mental health problems.

Restoring Gut Health: Dr. Davis emphasizes the importance of restoring the microbiome to improve health. He likens the process to tending a garden, where removing harmful elements, introducing beneficial microbes through fermented foods, and providing the right nutrients can lead to a healthier microbiome.

Weight Loss and Muscle Preservation: The conversation touches on the misconceptions and dangers of popular weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy, highlighting the importance of preserving muscle mass for overall health. Dr. Davis argues that muscle is crucial not just for physical strength but also for metabolic health.

Practical Health Strategies: In this segment of the interview, Dr. Davis shares actionable advice on improving gut health and overall wellness. This includes consuming fermented foods, focusing on a diet rich in unprocessed foods, and considering specific supplements like collagen and probiotics to address deficiencies in the modern diet.

Empowerment through Knowledge: In this segment of the interview, we both spoke about the significance of empowering individuals with knowledge about their health. We stressed the need for people to understand the underlying factors affecting their health rather than relying solely on medications or quick fixes.

Holistic Approach to Health: The interview underscores a holistic approach to health, where addressing the root causes of health issues through diet, lifestyle changes, and understanding the body's needs leads to more sustainable and impactful health outcomes.

Access to Dr. Davis's Work: I strongly recommend getting a copy of Dr. Davis's latest book, "Super Gut," and his blog for more in-depth information and resources on improving health through gut health restoration and other natural approaches.

  • Have you ever thought about eating raw food as opposed to cook food? Khepra Anu is a Raw Foodist, and author who has dedicated his life to sharing his knowledge of the power that the Live Food lifestyle combined with systematic fasting has on the body. Over the past 20 years, he has hosted numerous health retreats in the U.S. and internationally, during which he guides participants through his unique approach to repairing and detoxifying the human body through the scientific and mechanical application of coconut water, fresh juices, and living food. During the interview, he will discuss his early childhood growing up in Monticello, New York into a very religious family. It was during that time that he first learned about a very profound scripture from the Bible in Genesis 1:29 that stated “Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” After reading that scripture his eyes were opened and he never looked back. He realized that we should be eating more of what God made and less of what man-made. He also mentioned the great Dick Gregory, who also planted a seed the first time Khapra got to hear him lecture, “he was the one who opened up the Bible and said, this is, you know, we supposed to eat this way.”

Our conversation delved into various aspects of nutrition, particularly focusing on raw foods, salt, and fasting. Khapra emphasized the importance of consuming a wide variety of foods, including exotic fruits, fatty fruits, and salty fruits like olives, to ensure a balanced intake of nutrients. He discussed different types of salt, favoring Celtic sea salt and real salt over Himalayan salt due to concerns about its quality. The conversation also touched on the benefits of fasting, particularly coconut water fasting, as a way to detoxify the body and allow it to heal naturally. Retreats focusing on holistic health experiences, including sun gazing, meditation, yoga, and coconut water fasting, were highlighted as opportunities for deep rest and rejuvenation. Overall, the dialogue underscored the importance of embracing natural foods and lifestyle practices for optimal health and well-being.

  • How would you like to lose 10 pounds in 30 days without dieting? Do you even think it’s possible to lose weight without dieting? Not only is it possible, I’ve done it and so have countless others. In this video, I share my 4 tips on how you can lose 10 pounds in 30 days without even going on a diet. For many of us, losing one or two pounds would greatly improve our health, but what about 5, 10 or 15 pounds, wouldn’t that increase our quality of life even more? Yes, it would.

As the host of my Six Weeks to Fitness podcast, I usually interview fitness and nutrition experts, doctors, athletes and celebrities to discuss the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. In this video, I am flying solo to share some of my personal knowledge and expertise in the area of weight loss.

For the past 30 years, I have trained and worked with hundreds of men and women through my Six Weeks to Fitness programs, so I know what works and what doesn’t. Remember, I’m not talking about crash dieting here, there are no “eat this not that” recommendations, just some common sense, yet, scientifically proven methods that will help you lose, release, drop (however you want to put it) at least 10 pounds in 30 days, and you get to keep it off, if you so choose.

Since the 2020 pandemic, the waistlines of average Americans have increased due to inactivity, stress and yes, poor eating habits. Fast forward to where we are today, in 2023, diabetes rates along with heart disease, dementia, cancer and other chronic diseases are increasing exponentially. These illnesses are preventable. Obesity is a risk factor for all of these diseases and with 42% of Americans currently obese, the forecast does not look too promising unless we take action and reverse course. Winter is just around the corner, and it is during this time of the year that most people “fall off the wagon” and start putting on some extra pounds. In addition to the winter months, we have the ever-challenging holiday season, with all of the social gatherings and office parties to contend with. It is estimated that the average person puts on an extra 5 to 10 pounds from Thanksgiving to New Year's.

What if this year could be different? What if my 4 tips can help you lose 10 pounds by the new year? It can, and it will if you follow my 4 steps. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

  • If you want instant low back pain relief “We Gotcha Back”! We Gotcha Back is a customized compression support belt that relieves back, lumbar, and total body pain. It induces improved blood circulation and is FDA-approved. The inventor of We Gotcha Back is Glenn Gordon, a disabled veteran, musician, songwriter, and singer, who shortly after leaving military service as a heavy equipment rough terrain forklift operator, started having back problems.

The military would not allow him any disability for his back pain, but they did give him many different back support belts that did not work and extreme-strength pain killer pills, which Glenn refused to take because of their addictive qualities. Instead, he created his own back support belt and that is when We Gotcha Back was born.

The belt is quickly racking up endorsements by athletes and celebrities. One such athlete is the all-time record holder for most Mr. Olympia titles, Lee Haney, who is now part of Glenn Gordon’s advisory team. Other celebrities wearing his belt include singer Keith Urban, comedian Jeff Foxworthy, professional dancer, Debbie Allen, Actress Kim Coles and others.

According to the World Health Organization, Lower Back Pain affects 619 million people worldwide and by 2050, that number will increase to 843 million. Low Back Pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide and is often associated with loss of work and a huge financial burden.

Just recently Mike Tyson was said to be suffering from Sciatica, a problem We Gotcha Back has been known to handle quite well. If you’re listening Mike, the inventor of WEGOTCHABACK, has a belt with your name on it.

  • In this episode of my Six Weeks to Fitness podcast, I interview Sophia Paliov to discuss how she used Intermittent Fast and a low-carb diet (Keto), to lose 40 pounds in 4 months. Sophia has been in the public relations industry for over 27 years. She is the owner of SPPR-LA, a lifestyle, hospitality, beauty & fashion pr firm out of Los Angeles, California.

Growing up and most of her adult life Sophia has never had an issue with weight. In fact, people thought as a child and teen at times she was too thin. Sophia grew up always walking to school mostly and would take five days a week ballet and tap dance classes during her childhood years and into her early teens and remained at a good low weight (120-124) all the way through her late early thirties.

Around the age of 33, Sophia started to gain weight due to a lot of stress (cortisol) due to personal family stressors (father diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer) as well as eating way more processed foods and also dealing with some fibroid issues which has to be balanced out with stronger birth control.

In 2010 at the age of 38 Sophia's father died and by that point, she found herself about 15 pounds heavier even though she had begun to eat less processed foods and cut out a lot of her sugar. But the stress along with hormonal issues due to her fibroids still slowed down her weight. Soon afterward, Sophia's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and for the next 8 years till her death in 2018, Sophia's weight fluctuated.

In 2015-2017 she began a serious weight loss journey and workout regimen by working out to a lot of cardio and doing low carb/gluten-free lifestyle. She got down to her goal weight of 127 and held it there till a workout injury in April of 2017 halted her progress. At that point, her mother's illness had severely progressed and by early 2018 Sophia's hormonal imbalance caused her fibroids to produce super heavy bleedings which kept her from doing heavy workouts.

By June 2020, Sophia had ballooned up to 165 pounds and was miserable. With surgery scheduled for that same month to deal with the fibroids, Sophia was finally able to get her hormonal balance in check; slowly. But, as the months went by the drive and determination to get back to her comfortable weight just was not there. She knew she had to make changes again and to get motivated to start moving her body but kept pushing it off. One day a week or two of working out just was not cutting it at almost 50. In April of 2021, Sophia saw a picture of herself in leggings and a tight top and just was floored at how bad she had gotten. It was that instant that triggered her to get motivated again and to know her WHY. She knew that she had to lose weight and that going low carb/keto would again be part of her life (which she has always done on and off), but she also knew outside of work she was missing something - she had to implement her WHY. She did not want to end up like her mom with Alzheimer's and even prior to that walking with a walker, she also feared cancer, so doing what she loves to do, Sophia stayed up at late hours and researched longevity, weight loss and found Intermittent Fasting. Ordering the book "The Complete Guide to Fasting" by Dr. Jason Fung, Sophia read it in two days and then just dove into more research on fasting, deepening into keto and the importance of protein, weight training, cardio and of course the magic of fasting.

By October of 2021 just in time for her 50th birthday Sophia had lost her weight and reached her goal weight of 129, and to this day she fluctuates between 125-129 with a steady amount of muscle gain.

Her philosophy is not about just losing weight, but how you go about it and she always asks others to know their WHY. "It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle."

  • Did you know that over 50 million Americans suffer from constipation, or that 75% of us are not properly hydrated? The lack of being properly hydrated can cause serious problems for your gut and overall health. In this episode of my Six Weeks to Fitness podcast, I interviewed Michael Roller, former personal trainer, martial artist, and CEO of MIXSUPPS, a health and wellness brand out of Central Utah.

After obtaining a degree in Exercise Science and working as a personal trainer, Michael Roller spent years absorbing information from bodybuilders, fitness enthusiasts, athletes, doctors, and people who were just trying to live healthier lives, and realized that the supplements that most of them were using were constantly cycling as they looked for something that worked consistently. So, he set out to make the coolest supplement company with the best products, with clinically researched ingredients at the right dosages, that would actually work, but not only work but taste good.

During the interview, Michael will share his company’s mission and discuss three of his company’s main products: “Little Sh!ts”, which helps to relieve constipation naturally and without the side effects you would receive from over-the-counter laxatives; “One Shot Water Amplifier”, which is an immunity booster; and “Ganbaru Energy,” an energy booster without caffeine and added sugar. To use these products, all you need to do is add water, which will increase your hydration, which is why I like these products.

After watching or listening to this interview, and you decide to try any of these products, use my promo code “Vincent 20” and receive a 20% discount on the price.

I’m currently trying the Ganbaru Energy product prior to my workouts, and so far it’s been a very good experience. It tastes great and all I have to do is add water which helps to keep me hydrated.

This was a very informative interview with a former personal trainer and martial artist turned CEO, of a wellness brand who set out to create products that will boost our gut health, improve immunity, and increase our energy levels naturally while helping us to become more hydrated.

  • In this episode of my Six Weeks to Fitness podcast, I am joined by Jorge Blamo, an actor and former collegiate baseball star. Jorge always loved acting and sports but chose to play baseball in high school and college, but as fate would have it, a groin injury sidelined him from playing during his sophomore year of college. Depressed while recovering from his injury, Jorge switched gears and returned to his other ‘first’ love — acting.

After college, Jorge pursued acting full-time. His credits include "Bull" on CBS and Hulu’s "Wu-Tang: An American Saga," among others. Jorge has done commercials for RĂ©my Martin alongside singer, songwriter Usher, Sling TV, Audi, Bose, and Under Armour. He is also slated to appear in two upcoming movies, including "With Myself."

During the interview Jorge discusses his Ghanian/Portuguese roots; the influence his mother and father had on his life growing up and the significant role faith, fitness and a positive mental mindset play in helping him to pursue his dreams as a professional actor. When I asked Jorge how he deals with rejection when it comes to landing roles in Hollywood, he stated that “for every thousand no’s there is one yes. It’s the same in baseball, you don’t bat one thousand, but you keep swinging.”

It was a real pleasure interviewing this young, positive and inspiring, purpose-driven rising star. Remember the name Jorge Blamo, you will be seeing his name all over the big screen one day soon.

  • Do you like to dance? What are you doing on Saturday, May 21st in New York City? How would you like to participate in a free event that attracts over 10,000 dancers, live bands, DJs and over one hundred unique styles of dance and culture? I’m talking about live Tango, Salsa, Afro-Cuban Conga bands, floats, Dance Battles, a Soul Train Line and much more?

If all of this sounds too good to be true, then listen to my interview with Jamila Holman, the Festival Production Lead for the 16th annual Dance Parade. During the interview, Jamila discusses in detail, what you can expect to experience when you attend this awesome event. This is the largest dance event in New York City, and the only event (to my knowledge), where you are given a ticket if you don’t move your body! That’s right, instead of a parking or speeding ticket, you will receive a ticket for not moving. So, if you’re looking to tone up your body and lose weight, why not have fun while doing it at the 16th annual Dance Parade?

Jamila Holman began her dance career in NYC in 2003 with renowned Jazz Choreographer Frank Hatchett. Jamila danced at Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks and was chosen to perform in shows in China, with John Legend and Paul McCartney. Jamila began her training under Frank Hatchett’s principal dancer Kim Norrington and was bolstered by choreographers at the Broadway Dance Center and Hunter College. Her training varies in styles from ballet, to jazz, tap, hip-hop and African. As a teacher she has assisted Frank Hatchett at conventions such as The Dance Teachers Summit, NADAA, with the New York Knicks Cheering for Children Organization and at New York City’s most popular gyms such as Crunch and David Barton. Currently, Jamila tours arenas nationwide as a choreographer and back-up dancer with R&B star Lisa Lisa of Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam.
