Queen Street Motorcycles continues to inspire young builders to unleash their creativity on a variety of motorcycles. Geoff is a member of QSM with great vision and a fondness for 70's styling. His ideas are reminiscent of custom hot rod and motorcycle builders of that era, like Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, George Barris, Ray Fahrner and Gene Winfield. Granted, these builders were mainly into cars but the raw, edgy, out of the box thinking they had is what I see in Geoff. Maybe Geoff will build an Ed Roth inspired trike?
I really appreciate the enthusiasm and passion of all the members of Queen Street Motorcycles. It excites and inspires me to see a group of young people so involved in the culture.
It's not easy or comfortable to put yourself on camera. Thank you Geoff for your willingness to share the story of your build with all of us.

Without a doubt, this was the most popular bike at Alberta motorcycle shows in 2025. The creativity and skillful engraving of Michelangelo Donato is on full display on this Harley-Davidson Sportster build. While the Sportster is incredibly exotic, which may suggest it is a trailer queen, nothing could be further from the truth. Michelangelo rides this showpiece to events, including several trips from Edmonton to Calgary.
You’ll find some ride video at the beginning and conclusion of this video. I want to acknowledge the assistance and express my appreciation to Patrick Lambie from Seven62 Photo and insidemotorcycles.com for capturing video and stills from our afternoon with Michelangelo.
Thanks to Kane’s Motor Cycle Shop in Calgary for putting on the Vintage Day show. The barbecue was well done, and the live entertainment was great. Beautiful day with a good vibe and lots of very cool motorcycles. We're on Instagram too where we try to keep things light while being informative. Kevin Brown talks about a very cool Honda cafe racer he is just finishing up. These little Hondas are very popular with the cafe crowd and collectors. Kevin also tells us about his Suzuki salt flat styled, street legal, 100 cc 2 stroke mosquito killer. This project is very much a reflection of Kevin's interest in the unusual and his unique creative bent.
As well, Kevin shares the stories being the other bikes in his stable. Hondas, BMWs and a very cool Ducati round out the fleet. The stable itself is also impressive. Kevin surrounds himself with collectibles, memorabilia, and special projects that make his shop a fascinating place that brings him a great level of comfort as he works and socializes with friends.

Bruce shares thoughts about several motorcycle shows and events. What makes them successful and maybe not so much.
As well, there's some honest talk about tariffs. The cost of many products is being impacted by Mr. Trump's trade policies, but is our Canadian government making it worse for Canadian citizens? Bruce weighs in with a message for the government.

HellBent Metal Workz is a Canadian manufacturer of high quality handlebars, crashbars, and other accessories for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Lance and his team also take on specialty engine work and custom modifications. If you're interested in a full custom, ground up build you might find HellBent would take on your project, but you'd be a very exclusive group as HellBent only does a couple of these each year.
Lance has been building custom motorcycles and accessories for decades. This man is passionate about building and riding motorcycle. More than that, Lance doesn't just love motorcycles, he cares a great deal about everyone around motorcycles. I have to admit to be surprised by the level of respect Lance gives to everyone involved with any aspect of motorcycles. He doesn't have an ill word about anybody. Lance doesn't just avoid the politics of the motorcycle community, rather he is aware and cares enough to be careful not to offend anyone. Lance is just a likeable sort with a great sense of humour.
If you have any questions for Lance or about HellBent Metal Workz, please leave us a comment and we'll be sure to follow up with you.
As always, we greatly appreciate your support by subscribing, giving us a thumbs up, and leaving a comment.

There are a few things I wanted to follow up on as the weather turns nice and summer sets in. June is the month when the motorcycle season really gets going. The month is packed with events, but there are a few that stand out, perhaps more this year than usual.
As well, I wanted to up date you on the MultiTool Grinder. The folks at MultiTool taught me something about this awesome tool I didn't know. I want to share the feature with you. To be completely transparent, it's not the most user friendly feature, but it could be handy for some users.
From the episode Harrison and I recorded about my Sportster I've had lots of comments. Viewers asked to see more of the bike and had questions about details I may have passed over. I figured I owed it to people who asked to show a little more of the Sportster with more explanation of details.

Given the renewed patriotism we have experienced in Canada as a result of trade policy changes by the United States, this is a good time to talk about the great manufacturers we have here in Canada. We have very talented builders and manufacturers who come up with unique, inspired designs.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to create a comprehensive list of Canadian custom motorcycle parts manufacturers to make it easier to find the stuff you need for your build? You can leave me a comment or head over to Instagram and DM me with contact information for a manufacturer you think should be on the list.

Do you have challenges finding House of Kolor paint? Do you wish there were motorcycle shops with an inventory of custom parts rather than having to buy online? Are you questioning this whole tariff situation? Bruce dives in with an attempt to shed some light on these topics.

Harvey and Jill from the Calgary chapter of the Japanese Motorcycle Club join Bruce to discuss upcoming Calgary motorcycle shows as well as sharing about VJMC and Calgary activities.
Two Wheel Sunday is a well established outdoor motorcycle show in Calgary, Alberta. TWS draws a broad range of motorcycles and enthusiasts. This free show is held on the first Sunday in June each year. If you're within riding distance of Calgary it is a show well worth attending. Two Wheel Sunday features a great vendor area as well as a Show & Shine with a class for every kind of motorcycle.
The Kickstart Show has been hosted by Ill Fated Kustoms since its inception. Kickstart is a show for garage builders. Those wishing to display their machines are required to complete the application form and supply photos of their build. Bikes are then selected for the show with no professional or shop builds being selected. Kenny and Jenn have done an amazing job of organizing the Kickstart Show with Ill-Fated Kustoms hosting a pre-party on Friday evening before the weekend show. This will be Kickstart number 10. Sadly, Jenn and Kenny have made it known this will be the last Kickstart Show.
The Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club of Calgary is simply the best club ever. It is rare to find such a friendly and welcoming group of people who thoroughly enjoy everything motorcycle.

Bruce and special guest Patrick Lambie discuss the variety of motorcycle helmets available and what you might consider in your choice of helmet. It's important to know the features of helmets and to understand the basics of how to select the right helmet for you. Bruce and Patrick look at everything from half helmets to full face race helmets from several different manufacturers.
Please note this is not a review of any specific helmet. The show is not sponsored by any helmet manufacturer. The helmets shown are owned personally by either Patrick or Bruce and are not provided by any manufacturer or distributor.

Lithium batteries are a great advancement for competition motorcycles, custom builds and upgrading stock components. For my builds, I choose Antigravity Batteries. Antigravity is the leader in lithium technology with innovative features, exceptional quality, and a wide range of batteries and accessories for virtually every application. Antigravity also uses the safest, long lasting lithium materials to produce products you can count on.
If you've ever mounted a solo seat on a motorcycle with those cool hairpin springs and experienced a ride like a buckboard, or if you're thinking about using hairpin springs on that new build, then you'll want to hear what Bruce learned. These springs will work just fine with the correct installation.
