In her spare time Doon is a passionate cold water swimmer who has swam the English Channel as part of a six-person relay team. Doon started a cold water swimming group in Hastings over lockdown saying ‘It’s not only good for the immune system but it banishes all anxieties – whether that’s fears for our health, our parents, our jobs, our homes or ourselves,”.   • 6th August 2016 Darren Edwards life changed forever. Whilst rock climbing in North Wales, he was involved in a serious fall which would alter the shape of his life forever after leaving him instantly paralysed from the chest down. However this life changing injury hasn't stopped Darren pushing himself to the limit - he has trained as part of Great Britain’s Paracanoe Team, pioneered adaptive free diving in the UK, and in 2021 became the first disabled person to kayak from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’ Groats in Scotland. He says ‘I have refused to let the word disability define who I am as a person and am committed to helping challenge the perception of what those with a disability can achieve.’
