  • You have a roster of dream clients and a calendar that’s booked solid… but you’re nowhere near the revenue goal that you’ve been dreaming about. So, what now?

The truth is that a 1:1 business model can only take you so far (no matter how amazing the service you provide may be). In order to take their businesses to the next level, coaches and consultants MUST learn how to scale beyond 1:1 services while maintaining the quality of their offer — and a great way to do that is through a killer 1:many offer.

Executive & Mindset Coach Carla Catherwood is a mover, shaker, and facilitator who helps her clients discover their unique business blueprint. In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, she shares how she scaled her business through her first powerful group program! Listen in as we explore how she navigated her transition to 1:many and how her highly successful career in dance helped her master the steps to entrepreneurship. If you want to break through your revenue ceiling, then it’s time to switch things up. Let’s get started!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

How Carla got clear on her goals and best next steps when creating her group program The reasons behind the price point Carla chose (and why group pricing should stand apart from 1:1 pricing)Why smart coaches join a group program before creating their own

Guest bio: With three decades as a movement teacher, creator and facilitator, and 20 years building businesses as an entrepreneur, Carla Catherwood has woven a unique path one step at a time. Now she helps her clients organize and scale their businesses to their own personal vision, all while ensuring they have the wherewithal to avoid burnout and create a sustainable path to growth and evolution.

  • Your car breaks down during the morning school run. You spill a cappuccino on your favourite sweater. A desirable prospective client ghosts you. YIKES. When negative things happen to us, it can throw us into a spiral of negativity that derails our whole day. Sometimes, these events can tap into our insecurities and trigger negative thoughts about our capability… or whether we even deserve to succeed.

Automatic negative thoughts can be caused by our learned belief systems and societal conditioning. It's easy to fall victim to these negative thoughts, but we need to remember that we CHOOSE our thoughts — and that our thoughts become our reality.

I’m a huge proponent of the power of positive thinking. If this feels a little cliché or woo-woo to you, I understand. In fact, I’m on a mission to shift the way that people view positive thinking… so let’s get started! In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I bust some of the myths around positive thinking, explore how to find the positives in negative situations, and dig into the link between negative thoughts and hormones.

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

Why your circumstances don’t actually dictate your thoughts, contrary to popular belief (and why you have more control than you think!)How we tend to project our own perceptions onto our experiences — and why mindset work is SO important!Powerful mindset challenges to put into practice after listening to the episode

  • How will I come up with fresh podcast topics? Will I be able to release episodes consistently? And will anyone even LISTEN to my show?

These are some of the biggest worries that clients share with me when we talk about their podcasting dreams. I’ll be honest: I had some of the same doubts when I first launched this podcast (289 episodes ago!). Podcasts definitely take time, effort, and dedication, but speaking directly to your dream clients is an incredible way to grow your audience and business — even if your episodes are only 10-15 minutes long!

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I sit down with Dr. Nicole Rankins, host of the wildly popular All About Pregnancy & Birth podcast, to dive into the nitty-gritty of growing a Top 50 show. We explore what it means to create great content, why we prefer podcasting over YouTube, and how Nicole has reached a whopping 2 MILLION downloads!

Guest bio: Dr. Nicole is a Duke-University-trained, board-certified, practicing OB/GYN and mom of two who empowers first-time moms to have the beautiful birth experience they deserve. • Did you sometimes find yourself feeling apathetic toward your business… and wondering what happened to your drive? You’re definitely not alone. Even Beyoncé has days when she just wants to ignore her inbox and binge her favourite reality show!

Motivation may be cyclical or seasonal — we may find ourselves more motivated at certain times of the day, week, month, or even year (and this can be especially true for mamapreneurs who have to juggle additional responsibilities around extracurriculars or summer vacations). When we’re feeling stretched to our max, we often struggle to get and stay motivated. And when this feeling lingers long enough, it will impact our business success in one way or another.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I dive into how you can regain your spark and get back on track when you start to lose your momentum — and why you should never beat yourself up for feeling unmotivated!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • Sales is definitely an acquired skill… and an acquired taste. During the time that I’ve spent helping countless women grow and scale their businesses, I’ve met very few who genuinely love sales! The truth is that most women have negative feelings around sales and selling. Full disclosure: even though I’ve spent years honing my sales skills (and can now sell in my sleep), I absolutely HATED sales when I first started out.

There are a few reasons why women tend to hate selling, including lack of confidence or a fear of being seen as pushy or “sleazy.” But no matter the reason, selling is a VITAL part of growing a business. If you want to achieve financial success and hit your revenue goals, you need to embrace it and start improving your sales game!

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I dig into the 12 biggest and most common mistakes made by sales novices — and what to do instead.

Mistake #1: Trying to sell too much in your marketing

Mistake #2: Offer is not clear or compelling

    Mistake #3: Talking too much

Mistake #4: Making it about you, not them

Mistake #5: Not presenting your best self

    Mistake #6: Pitch is weak

Mistake #7: Getting emotional or defensive

Mistake #8: Running away from objections

Mistake #9: Sending them away to something else

Mistake #10: Not having the right sales systems in place

Mistake #11: Being too attached to getting the sale

Mistake #12: Giving up too easily!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

Why confidence is the key ingredient when it comes to successfully selling anything How to grab your prospect’s attention right off the bat Why Zoom is your secret weapon when it comes to sales!

  • What are your first steps when it comes to hiring a coach, signing up for a high-ticket program, or buying an expensive new gadget? If you’re like most people, once you’ve gone through the website to learn about the offer, you seek out testimonials to make sure you’re going to get your money’s worth.

So… why are so few of us requesting feedback from our own clients?

The math is simple: the more time, money, or effort your prospect expects to spend on your offer, the more crucial positive reviews are in helping them make their buying decision. The problem? Most entrepreneurs don't know HOW to approach their clients in order to get great feedback — and when they do receive feedback, they’re not exactly sure how (or where) to use it!

In this juicy episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I reveal the secret to collecting enthusiastic, specific, and detailed client testimonials, and using this powerful social proof to build your thought leadership and close more sales. BONUS: you’ll also learn how to gain more Google or Facebook reviews!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

  • Do you see yourself as a savvy businessperson? Or is second-guessing keeping you stuck? Women entrepreneurs frequently struggle with feeling confident in our abilities and suffer from imposter syndrome at higher rates than men. Much of this stems from the deep-seated sexism of our society (the same sexism that causes female business owners to receive less attention and fewer funds from investors and banks). But while this lack of confidence is common, it isn’t inevitable. You CAN break free from self doubt and step confidently into your role as CEO!

My guest for this episode of The Business of Thinking Big is Charmie & Cie founder Charmie Galang. Through shifting from financial coaching to running a virtual assistance company, she not only helps her clients build profitable freedom businesses — she’s also created her own!

Our conversation explores how women can learn to trust themselves and their decisions, so they can grow their businesses with more confidence. Tune in as we dig into the importance of investing in yourself, what to look for in a business coach, how to tame your overwhelm, and why joining a community of likeminded peers is a game-changer.

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

Three big “OMG!” leaps that required Charmie to cultivate trust in herself (and how they changed her business)What to do with business goals that no longer align with your life goals How to know when you’re ready to dissolve a partnership that’s no longer working

Guest bio: Charmie Galang is a Financial Coach and the founder of a virtual assistance company. Her mission is to help female entrepreneurs who feel overwhelmed by the demands of technology, social media, and bookkeeping tasks in their businesses. She achieves this by connecting them with highly skilled and dedicated Virtual Assistants who treat their clients' businesses as if they were their own.

  • “Money doesn’t matter to me.”

“Money isn’t the reason why I do what I do.”

“I’d be doing this even if I weren’t getting paid.”

Many business owners tell themselves that they just don’t care that much about money, and that passion is the driving force behind their businesses. For plenty of entrepreneurs, this may be true to some extent. But when we ignore the importance of money in our businesses, we not only leave too much of it on the table — we actually HURT our ability to grow.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I talk about the role that money actually plays in your business, and why it’s SO important to give it the attention that it deserves. From money mindset issues to lingering too long in the “hobby stage,” I explore what may be keeping you from prioritizing your income and share my top five tips for making money a focus, so that you can earn (and keep) more of it!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

What causes so many women to deprioritize the money side of their business5 important reasons why you should keep your mind on your money The problem with relying heavily on influencer marketing and bartering — and the benefits of putting a fair number on your products and services!

  • When working toward our big and bold business goals leaves us feeling frustrated and disconnected from our businesses, the problem may be energetic!

When we’re operating too much in our masculine energy, things can start to feel forced, out of alignment, or even “yucky” (you know what I’m talking about!). If you find yourself struggling to feel connected to and in alignment with your business, then it’s probably time to try something different. Spoiler: it's not about doing more.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I sit down with money healer and business mentor Emily Wilcox to explore the power of embracing your feminine energy and taking a softer approach to your business. Emily is a serial entrepreneur who has built three different 6- and 7-figure businesses and uses energetics, woo-woo, and a sprinkle of strategy to help women build their fempires and walk the joyous path to millions – you know I love it!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

The importance of balancing your masculine and feminine energies — and how this can transform your life, relationships, and businessHow to diagnose which energy you’re currently in (and whether you’re out of balance!)How to weave feminine energy into your sales and marketing

Guest bio: Emily June Wilcox is a crystal-loving, coffee-drinking money healer and business mentor. Her mission is helping women create the wealth they desire by healing their money wounds – which allows women to act from purpose and passion instead of obedience and obligation. • Do you truly believe that you have what it takes to succeed? Or do you find yourself held back by self doubt? Too often, we don't trust ourselves enough to make the big power moves or decisions that will move the needle in our businesses.

You may believe that you’re too inexperienced or that you don’t have the skills necessary to take your best next steps or attract your dream clients. It’s really easy to fall victim to feelings of imposter syndrome! But as I tell my coaching clients and community, you already have all the best answers inside of you — all you need to do is learn how to access your inner mentor.

Your inner mentor is a version of yourself that is further ahead, more experienced, and has the insights that you need to take your business to the next level. While this concept may sound a little woo-woo or magical, it reflects the very foundation of good coaching work. The best coaches don’t just offer you answers and instructions, they help you tap into and trust your own knowledge and intuition!

This episode of The Business of Thinking Big draws on the concept of the inner mentor developed by Tara Mohr in her book Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create, and Lead. If you love this episode, I definitely recommend buying her book!

    Listen now to discover:‌

  • I hope you have a pen and notebook handy, because this episode of The Business of Thinking Big is a mini marketing masterclass! Most business owners require more leads in order to hit their revenue goals, but many struggle with marketing their business effectively. The problem? They often focus on what's new and trendy — the latest strategies hyped up by Instagram business influencers — rather than working to understand and implement the tried-and-tested basics first.

I’ve spent many years helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses, and I can tell you right now: if you want to perfect your marketing and attract a parade of your dream clients, you need to revisit the foundations before you can move on to advanced marketing strategies.

In this episode, I’m taking it back to basics and sharing proven strategies for marketing your business… in the right way, to the right people. Tune in as I explore the function of marketing, the challenges of making your mark in a saturated digital marketplace, and the questions that you should ask yourself BEFORE you take your next marketing steps!

  • As women entrepreneurs, we put off our own dreams for a variety of reasons. But there’s one reason in particular that comes up a LOT in my coaching sessions — and it’s one that I think deserves far more attention.

One of the biggest reasons that we put off our own dreams is that we tell ourselves that we are NOT READY.

Because we tell ourselves that we’re not ready, we remain stuck in a holding pattern, watching those around us succeed… while we sit on the sidelines, hoping that one day we’ll feel "ready" to chase our dreams. But if you want to grow, you need to leave your comfort zone - even (and especially) when you don’t feel ready!

Andrea Mourad, owner of ethical skincare company Orora, knows what it’s like to get started before you feel ready. Before becoming a business owner, she was a teacher who wanted to leave the profession but wasn’t sure what that could look like for her. When her husband’s skincare business faced serious logistical issues during Covid, Andrea decided to take it over – and took a giant leap into the unknown.

In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, Andrea and I dive into her journey of learning along the way while building a highly successful business during an incredibly challenging time, and explore her toughest obstacles, her biggest shifts, and her hard-won lessons!

    In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌

How she proved the viability of a struggling company and successfully implemented a new revenue streamHow her hearing disability impacted her willingness to show up as the face of her brand — and the identity shift that helped her gain confidenceWhat led her to join A-Players – and how it helped her to overcome her fear and do things differently!
