243 - Exploring the art of letting go.
All things are temporary, even what you love most.
What a beautiful, fucked up and timeless lesson we will all come to know at some point.
When giving your absolute all to something, it’s common to become afraid of letting go of the familiarity we’ve come to know.
There’s nobility in never giving up.
When you love right, you love passionately. If it’s real, you’re gonna have to fight for it.
If you only go to eighty percent with anything and find contentment there, you’ll fail to see the fruits of sweet magic that come from going all the way.
But when you give it your all, and it becomes clear the end is near, you only sacrifice yourself by holding on.
What’s the right balance then, given love equates to sacrifice?
You must push yourself to the point of being broken, burned and struck down by your own ignorance.
To love is to give someone the power to destroy you and trust they don’t use it.
But when they pull the trigger?
Rock bottom.
But from here, you have an opportunity to rise again.
The pain will leave a scar, a marker that serves as a reminder of both the beautiful and painful memories.
Beauty and pain exist on the same spectrum. Can you smile in spite of suffering, finding gratitude for the lessons learned along the way?
When the next time comes to open your heart, will you have the courage to show up and see through the previous experience of being broken?
All times of darkness lead to brighter days.
Look up to the stars, pray.
Show us the way home with our innocence still intact.
You’re never truly lonely when connected to your heart.
Each day is an opportunity for a new start.
Next time you’re struggling for control, remember what happened today and choose to let go.
Keep your heart soft but your mind strong.
It may feel like a mistake losing yourself in love, but you can close your eyes knowing it was worth giving your all.
Change is coming so take that weight of your shoulders.
Set your sight on the horizon, move on.
Let the seeds of new beginnings take root, one day flowering to set your heart free.

Play with the balance between urgency and not rushing into things.

A commitment to truth, only found in the space of pure silence, was the beginning of uncovering the fine intricacies of who you are.
How can you know yourself if you’re unwilling to see who you are when unplugged from the numbing stimuli of life?
Stop following a lost crowd and find your own sense of direction.
Own the truth..
You might get destroyed for it, but that’s the risk you take in following it.
Oh, what a wonderful life this can be when you choose to be free.
Don’t measure in time, but in memories made.
Love, give and feel to the fullest.
When you look up at the stars for what may be the final time, you will see the truth reflected back at you.
Follow the call of the heart and remain wild.
You’re right where you need to be.

241 - How do you marshal love against tyranny?
Love, the most beautiful force of nature, cannot be seen or touched. It can only be felt in the heart.
Love is radical, unreasonable. It can’t be contained within the frameworks of our social contracts. It’s the generator of all meaning, while tossing the illusions of logic and reasoning aside.
Love is why we mourn when forced to let go. It’s what made the magic perceivable to begin within, filling up our hearts with feelings we once only thought to be possible in a dream. That’s why when we die, it’s only the love we shared that survives.
Love will bring you to the highest peaks of every mountain, while offering a light of hope when lost in the loneliest valleys of darkness. Always moving subtly, until it one day moves through you in an unmistakable flash of its beauty.
Love will forever remain an unknown danger to the mind, but can be life’s only constant as your heart’s guide. If anything matters, it’s having the courage to choose love through it all.
It’s so simple when we let it be, allowing love to guide us towards the path of being free.
When you allow love to be the foundation of who you are, you tame the temptations of the tyrant within.

Asa is a certified personal trainer who works to help people find themselves through physical fitness. He joins the podcast on the heels of his own personal time of transformation, as by the time of this show's release he will be living in the great state of Florida.
It is a blessing to share Asa's friendship and to have the honor of connecting with him in this podcasting space. I look up to him in many ways as a role model, somebody who carries themselves in such a way that I still strive to find within myself.
This was a profound discussion that uncovers the roots of who we are, which were only discovered in our darkest periods of adversity. Asa and I share many similarities when it comes to stepping into our authenticity.

230 - A boy must die before a man can be born.
The start of 2023 has been a funeral for who I once was. I often speak about going beyond identity, but doing so requires you to continually unveil the illusionary safety nets you have in place about yourself. As your eyes become clear, you can finally begin to gaze at the truth.
Love is the answer. It is always available to us. We won’t find it by running away from ourselves. We’ll recognize it’s presence by turning inward.
May you see yourself for who you are,
planting seeds of new beginnings
so you can soon blossom
with the coming Spring.

229 - On the eve of my 27th birthday, I pulled a Tarot spread to outline the major themes of 2023. Unlike traditional readers who follow the linear calendar, I pull 13 cards that represent themes of the year following the traditional lunar cycles. These cards are not necessarily linear, as the themes will be present throughout 2023, making this podcast applicable throughout the entirety of the year.
With the major theme being The Chariot, here are just a few of the areas we must focus on in 2023:

-Greeting each day as an opportunity to love
-Embracing new levels of vulnerability in relationships

228 - "Oh Brave New World that has such people in it!"
Aldous Huxley's Brave New World shines a light on the fallacies of all collectivist movements. In pursuit of a greater good, the individual spirit is decimated through the pursuits of technological advancement and meaningless pleasure.
The Brave New World has already arrived, as the masses have chosen to engage in an unconscious pursuit of pleasure. Escapism is the root of what has allowed the Brave New World to flourish. Everybody knows there is more outside the illusions of comfort, but there is not even a thought to explore this realm because of the programming that's taken place.
We must remember that the greater good does not exist. A collective is only maintained through an integrated group of individuals choosing harmony.

227 - Fr. Seán ÓLaoire is a co-founder and the Spiritual Director of Companions on the Journey. He was born in Ireland and was ordained a Catholic priest in 1972. He spent 14 years living and working among the Kalenjin people of East Africa and came to the U.S. in 1987. Fr. Seán has a BSc degree in mathematics and a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology.
