What if you didn't grow up dreaming of the day you'd be a mother?
What if you do become a mother and you don't love staying home?
What if you find your best self is AT work?
We're back talking with Podcast host, Becca Campbell, and her own Mother, Beth Sloane hearing her story about the balance of working a corporate 9am-5pm job and raising 3 girls.
Looking from motherhood after 30 years Beth reflects on opportunities that came, keeping her family first, and finding weekends to be intentional with her family.

Friend and fellow Mama, Kristy Rodriguez (Owner, Pure Nurture) shares her journey of writing her book, Pure Nurture and walking through her own pregnancy cravings of Dunkin' Donuts and Burger King (a truly hilarious thought knowing Kristy's background of holistic health!). On this episode Becca and Kristy dive into why it's important to practice self-love and self-care while pregnant and postpartum.
For Kristy, prenatal yoga was a pivotal part of how she maintained balance and a nurtured lifestyle while pregnant. Now she teaches other Mothers how to listen to their bodies (even through bizarre cravings!) and guides them through pre and post natal Yoga classes in the D.C. area.
Kristy's book, Pure Nurture: A Holistic Guide to A Healthy Baby is a must read for the pregnant mom (or those thinking to become pregnant) who desires to gain practical wisdom of living a holistic pregnancy journey.

Alright Mama, so you've written down your goals and dreams for 2018. Cheers! High-fives! But have you actually said them OUT LOUD to someone? I know, I know! It's scary! It's easy to write your goals and dreams on paper, but admitting them to someone else (even your best friend or husband) can cause some fear to creep in. "Who am I to think I can reach these goals?" "What happens if I don't?" "Is this too lofty?" "What will my friends think of me for wanting this?"
On today's episode we're talking with fellow Mama friend, Blake Guichet who started this "Say It Out Loud" trend in our life. Using the power of InstaStory and also her gift of encouraging others (in the best and most down to earth way!) she encourages so many of us to step out and move onto the next step in taking action on your goal.
While it might not seem important to put a voice to these goals and dreams- we dare to think that it will actually hold you back from reaching them if you don't give them life.
Be sure to follow Blake on Instagram and read her blog here!
Tickets are live for The Mama Retreat coming February 24-25!

Happy New Year, Mama! As everyone around us dives into goals and excitement over a fresh start- we truly believe this one small step will make your every day focused. When you wake up in the morning- what's the first thing you do? First thing you touch? First thought? First voice?
Is it bitterness? Instagram? Crying baby? Coffee?
So often we are grabbing the day by our first emotions and touches, when a quick focus on truth and love can totally shift the day. Today Becca talks about what she realizes held her back in 2017, and how this year can be totally refreshing. Ready to step into the challenge with us? Join our Facebook Group: The Mama Retreat Tribe. We look forward to connecting with you there daily.
::New to The Mama Retreat? Welcome! Our goal is to give you a well deserved day off. We do this through beautiful retreats held three times a year, through our Social Media (Instagram/Facebook) and through this podcast. We want to always stay focused on YOU. Cheers to that, Mama!::
Christmas is less than a week away, and we're already in the thick of family dinners, parties, gathering and events that push us late into the evening. Often these events can begin to trigger some stress and begrudging attitudes. MegAnne Ford, Parent Coach Specialist, shares with us strategies to help you calm down, take a break, and hit re-set when you can't really escape sticky situations.
Some of MegAnne's favorite strategies include taking a literal bathroom break to wash your hands (extra credit for deep breaths and hand massage!). This small step, when in the right mindset, can actually give you a total body reset! She also shares that telling the truth to your kids and yourself if the best way to ensure your Holiday expectations are met. Call out the elephant in the room and shake it up! Listen in as MegAnne talks with us about how to keep calm & kind this Holiday season.

It's supposed to be the happiest, merriest and most loving time of the year. Except that it's not. Because we hold captive in our minds our expectations and unspoken hopes for the day. Whether it's our birthday, Mother's Day, or Christmas Day we all have a tendency to hope that our spouse can read our minds. And it's not just the wife's unsaid expectancy! On both ends we're hiding our expectations and not expressing things clearly or early enough. In today's episode, Becca Campbell talks with her husband about how they apply the phrase, "You cannot expect what you don't express." through every move in their marriage. While it's definitely not perfect, having that one phrase in mind makes times like birthdays and holidays a bit more open and enjoyable.

"Every step towards something beautiful accomplishes something beautiful." - Ann Voskamp. You know, we've got about 7 weeks left until 2018. Sometimes we get lost in 2018 being a NEW YEAR NEW ME. But really, it's just a new date. Same you. In this episode Becca outlines a few ways she intends to end 2017 intentionally, so that when 2018 arrives it's a natural step in the right direction. From Christmas cards to Self-Confidence, using every moment we've got left in 2017 to make way for 2018 is so important. We want to challenge you to find ways to be intentional about how you spend these next 7 weeks, and keep in mind that come 2018 you're not a new you- you're just creating something beautiful as you walk towards something beautiful.

It feels like a roller coaster of emotions that we can't control, and usually we feel our guilt is well-intended. But what might be missing are the true joys in life when we laden ourselves with Mom Guilt. Beth (Nana) shares her experience of working as a corporate mom for 33 years while also raising three daughters, and being a wife. Our hope is that this interview with a seasoned mother will encourage you to pin-point where your own Mom Guilt is, and how you can begin the journey of removing the daily burden.
