In this episode of The Risen Fallen Podcast, I sit down with Corporal Brad Savage, an RCMP officer who speaks openly and honestly about mental health, PTSD, trauma, and the realities that come with serving in law enforcement.
Brad brings a powerful perspective on what it means to carry the weight of the job, the importance of speaking up, and why mental health conversations matter â especially for first responders, police officers, military members, tradespeople, and anyone who has been taught to âjust tough it out.â
We talk about the impact of trauma, the stigma around asking for help, the strength it takes to be vulnerable, and how healing starts when people are willing to have the hard conversations.
Brad spoke to me about SaveAWarrior.org which I wanted to help spread information about.
This episode is about courage, honesty, resilience, and reminding people that they are not alone.
If you or someone you know is struggling with PTSD, mental health, depression, anxiety, or the weight of past experiences, I hope this conversation encourages you to reach out, speak up, and keep going.

We often think peace will come once life finally calms down â once the pressure lifts, the bills are paid, the relationship is easier, work slows down, or the season changes.
But if peace depends on having no problems, peace will always be temporary.
In this episode, I talk about why peace is not the absence of problems, but the ability to stay grounded in the middle of them. Real peace is not avoidance, escape, or pretending everything is fine. It is built through truth, responsibility, faith, discipline, forgiveness, and learning how to carry life without letting it own you.
Sometimes we are not actually chasing peace â we are chasing relief. This episode is about learning the difference.

In this episode of The Risen Fallen Podcast, I talk about the idea that love and peace are not things we simply find â they are things we build.
We live in a world where everything feels replaceable. Donât like something? Upgrade it. Order something new. Swipe to the next person. Find a better job. Move to a better house. Chase the next version of life.
But that mindset can slowly train us to treat people, commitments, relationships, and even our own peace like they are disposable.
The truth is, the next thing will not always fix the deeper issue. A new job, a new relationship, a new house, a new purchase, or a new phase of life might feel exciting for a while â but eventually, we bring ourselves with us.
Real love is built through patience, forgiveness, humility, communication, and commitment.
Real peace is built through discipline, gratitude, prayer, responsibility, perspective, and learning how to stand firm even when life feels heavy.
This episode is about slowing down, taking ownership, and asking whether we are actually looking for something better â or just avoiding the work required to build something meaningful.
Love is built.Peace is built. And the best things in life usually require more than finding them â they require choosing them, protecting them, and growing through them.

In this episode of The Risen Fallen Podcast, I talk about the difference between overthinking and avoidance. Sometimes we convince ourselves we are planning, processing, or waiting for clarity, when really we are avoiding the action we already know we need to take.
I break down how overthinking can become a form of procrastination, why clarity often comes after movement, and how fear disguises itself as wisdom. Whether itâs fitness, business, faith, relationships, or personal growth, the next step usually is not more thinking â itâs action.
If youâve been feeling stuck, waiting for the perfect time, or telling yourself you just need to âfigure it outâ first, this episode is a reminder that movement creates momentum.

In this episode, I talk about why words are not violence, and why being offended should not give us permission to lose control of ourselves.
After seeing people react violently to things said online, protests, opinions, and disagreements, I wanted to dig into what it says about us when someone elseâs words can pull us so far out of character.
This episode is about emotional discipline, personal responsibility, ego, judgment, hypocrisy, faith, and learning how to respond with self-control instead of reacting out of anger. I also talk about why hurt people hurt people, why we need to check ourselves before condemning others, and why true empathy means trying to understand people instead of instantly dehumanizing them.
Someone elseâs words might offend you, but they should not control you.

People love to talk about dopamine like itâs the enemy.
Dopamine addiction.Dopamine detox.Cheap dopamine.Instant gratification.Chasing the high.
And while there is truth to all of that, I think we sometimes miss the bigger picture.
Dopamine is not automatically bad. It is your bodyâs natural reward system. The real issue is not that we like feeling good â itâs what behaviours we are rewarding.
In this episode, I talk about a realization I had while running in the sun with my dadâs dog, listening to music, and feeling completely stoked on life. That was a dopamine rush too â but it was attached to something good.
This episode is about learning how to stop demonizing dopamine and start using it to build better habits, stronger discipline, better mental health, and a life you actually want to keep moving toward.

In this episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I talk about the trap of constantly waiting for a breakthrough.
A lot of us want the perfect plan, the big moment, the emotional shift, the viral post, or the sudden burst of motivation that finally changes everything. But most real growth does not happen that way.
Real change usually happens in the boring, repetitive, quiet work that nobody sees.
It happens when you keep showing up without applause. It happens when you stay consistent after the excitement fades. It happens when you stop chasing the feeling of starting over and actually commit to the slow rebuild.
This episode is about discipline, consistency, self-development, mental health, business, fitness, faith, and learning how to trust the process when it does not feel exciting anymore.
Because the boring part is not the part before your life changes.
The boring part is the part that changes you.

After shoulder surgery, Iâve been working with my physiotherapist on rebuilding my range of motion, strength, and confidence. But during one of our conversations, he said something that hit way deeper than just physical rehab.
He talked about the importance of building confidence in the range of motion I already have before trying to force more. In other words, my nervous system needs to learn that Iâm safe, capable, and in control where I already am before it will trust me to move further.
And honestly, I think that applies to life too.
A lot of us are constantly chasing more. More success, more money, more discipline, more confidence, more growth, more progress. We want to expand our ârange of motionâ in life, but we havenât mastered the range we already have. We want the next level before weâve built trust with the current one.
In this solo episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I talk about why real progress often starts with slowing down, mastering the basics, and proving to yourself that you can be consistent with what is already in your hands. Whether itâs fitness, business, relationships, mental health, faith, or personal growth, confidence is built through repetition, small wins, and learning to trust yourself again.
This episode is about rebuilding your foundation, expanding your capacity, and understanding that progress should stretch you â not snap you.
If youâve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, impatient, or like youâre constantly trying to force yourself into the next version of your life, this one is for you.

In this episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, Mark Henriksen talks about what it means to keep moving forward when life breaks down.
Using the analogy of a broken-down vehicle, Mark explores the idea that if itâs got wheels, it can still roll forward â even if you have to push it.
Whether youâre struggling in business, fitness, relationships, addiction, mental health, or personal development, the message is the same: setbacks do not mean youâre finished.
You may have lost momentum, money, confidence, progress, or direction, but if youâre still breathing, you still have the ability to take one step forward. And if you still have your tools, you can still build success.
This episode is a reminder to stop counting yourself out too early, zoom out from the hard season youâre in, and keep pushing toward the person and life you want to build.

In Episode #199 of the Risen Fallen Podcast, Mark explores a simple but powerful idea: what if the things you complain about are actually pointing directly at your blessings?
We complain about work, bills, responsibilities, relationships, being busy, being tired, and having problems to solve â but often, those complaints are connected to things we would be devastated to lose.
This episode is not about fake positivity or pretending your problems are not real. It is about learning how to shift from negativity, blame, and resentment into gratitude, faith, responsibility, and solution-based thinking.
Mark also talks about the spiritual side of complaining, and how constantly focusing on what is wrong can send an ungrateful message to God. Instead of just raising awareness or venting from a negative place, the challenge is to ask: what can I actually do to contribute to the solution?
A powerful solo episode for anyone working on their mindset, faith, gratitude, mental health, personal growth, and taking responsibility for the life they are building.

In this solo episode, I talk about a struggle a lot of men know all too well: feeling pulled in every direction by work, family, responsibility, burnout, guilt, and the pressure to hold everything together.
After a conversation with one of my best friends, I started thinking about how common this really is. The more responsibilities you take on in life, the harder it gets to keep every area balanced. Career growth takes time.
Marriage takes effort. Kids need presence. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, a lot of men start feeling mentally drained, emotionally overloaded, and guilty any time they try to slow down.
This episode is about menâs mental health, overwhelm, burnout, work-life balance, and learning how to stop trying to make everybody happy all the time. We also talk about why rest can start to feel empty, and why true peace does not come from pleasing everyone â it comes from clarity, priorities, and honesty.
If youâve been carrying too much and feeling stretched thin, this one is for you.

In this episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I sit down with Sean Martin â singer, guitarist, songwriter, and the driving force behind The Quarantined â for a powerful conversation about music, purpose, struggle, and what it means to create something real in a world that rewards conformity. The Quarantined is a grunge/punk/metal project led by Sean, built around socially critical songwriting and themes like politics, trauma, addiction, war, and resilience.
Seanâs story goes way deeper than just the music. Heâs a Musicians Institute alumnus, a longtime performer and songwriter, and a U.S. Army Airborne Infantry veteran who has become an advocate for veteransâ mental health and PTSD awareness. His work with The Quarantined reflects that lived experience, blending aggressive rock energy with deeply personal and socially conscious themes.
We also talk about the evolution of The Quarantined, from their earlier releases and live shows in Southern California to newer music like Aversion to Normalcy, the bandâs 2025 EP recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios and Sound Emporium. The release was executive produced by Sean Martin and produced with Nathan Yarborough, with the bandâs official bio describing it as a cathartic confrontation with trauma, resilience, and the illusion of ânormalâ in a fractured world.
The bandâs momentum has been growing fast. Their official site says the recent singles tied to Aversion to Normalcy have surpassed 600,000â900,000 Spotify streams and generated more than 40 million TikTok views, while Apple Music lists Aversion to Normalcy as their latest release and highlights songs like âNemesis (friend of mine),â âTrendsetter,â âShadow (on my back),â âSkeleton Chair,â and âUnspoken.â
Sean also has press recognition connected to The Quarantined and related releases, with the bandâs official site citing coverage from Rolling Stone UK, USA Today, and LA Weekly.
If youâre into rock podcasts, grunge revival, independent music, songwriting, mental health conversations, veteran stories, PTSD recovery, and authentic artist interviews, this is an episode youâll want to hear.

Last week I had shoulder surgery, and like most setbacks in life, the first instinct is to focus on everything you can't do anymore.
No jiu-jitsu.â¨
No lifting weights.â¨
No heavy construction work.
But what if we're asking the wrong question? Instead of asking âWhat canât I do?â the better question might be: âWhat CAN I still work on?â
In this solo episode of Risen Fallen, I talk about how injuries, setbacks, and forced slowdowns can become opportunities for growth if we change our perspective. From modifying my work as a carpenter to focusing on cardio, flexibility, and planning ahead for recovery, this episode explores the mindset that allows you to keep moving forward even when life forces you to slow down.
Sometimes progress isn't about going faster. Sometimes it's about adapting instead of quitting.
If you've ever dealt with:
- injury
- burnout
- life setbacks
- feeling like life put you on pause
this episode is for you.
