    From FRANCE- Some press reviews on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, from both American and European sources. One of the side effects of the heat waves that are sweeping through Europe is the melting of the Alpine glaciers that are essential for drinking water, farming, and hydroelectric power plants. River beds in much of France have gone completely dry and efforts are being made to preserve the fish. Press reviews on a United Nations report that since the so-called ceasefire in Gaza, an average of one young Palestinian has been killed every day by Israeli forces. The US launched a major attack on Iran on Wednesday and Thursday, taking out civilian infrastructure, air defense systems and nearly hitting a nuclear power plant. Trump railed again that Greenland should belong to the US despite the people living there being strongly opposed to the idea.

    From JAPAN- Indian President Modi is visiting Australia to deepen ties on economics, security, and defense- including exports of uranium to India. Hamas says it has dissolved its government in Gaza. Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank is expanding, with 103 new settlements approved by the Israeli government, with another 100 coming soon- NHK spoke with settlers and with the Palestinians being moved out.

    From CUBA- The US government was unsuccessful at blocking a debate at the UN on the effect its economic and energy blockades against Cuba- Cuba said there is no evidence that it is planning an attack on the US. Iran says it fired missiles on a Qatari and Saudi ships in the strait of Hormuz because they were avoiding the Iranian controlled waters. Belgium is preparing to recognize the state of Palestine, joining 157 other countries that already consider it a sovereign state.

UN Secretary-General Guterres called for immediate action to reduce greenhouse gases and not allow data centers unless self powered by renewable energy. An excerpted interview with Samantha Burgess of the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service. She describes what is causing the current heat wave, whether these events will continue to get worse, and why Europe is heating up twice as fast as most of the world.

    From CUBA- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez announced a request for a UN session next Tuesday to address the US economic and now energy blockade, and its multi-dimensional aggression against Cuba. In Peru Keiko Fujimori, daughter of the former disgraced dictator of the country, appears to have won the Presidential election, with overseas voters giving her the victory. Israel has continued to attack Lebanon raising fears that Tel Aviv wants to wreck the peace deal with Iran. Israeli attacks continued in Gaza while the so-called Board of Peace is planning a sweeping grant of immunity for itself, and the ability to obtain public property free of charge.

    From FRANCE- First a press review about Kier Starmer's resignation as the UK Prime Minister. Press reviews on the UN report on Israeli genocide of Palestinian children- the press stated the case of 21,000 dead children, but also emphasized that anyone under 18 is considered a child and many of those fighting the Israeli troops were young. There were two devastating earthquakes in Venezuela and it is feared that thousands are dead.

    From CUBA- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez criticized and corrected recent pronouncements by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about Cuban incompetence and changes in government structure. A Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal Ferreiro spoke with a Mexican newspaper about the discussions that have been taking place between Cuba and the US, which she reports have not reached any significant progress- she says the US wants to dictate changes and keeps adding aggressive sanctions. The Bolivian right-wing President Paz has declared a state of emergency, using the military to end weeks of indigenous and union led protests calling for an end to austerity measures. More details about the 88 page United Nations report stating that Israel was committing genocide war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Lebanon reports that Israel has killed nearly 4000 citizens.

    From JAPAN- Many Japanese politicians are calling for preparations for a new era of warfare and reconsidering the principle of not allowing nuclear weapons into Japan. A new opinion poll found that worldwide 76% of people surveyed have no confidence in president Trump. Zelensky announced more drone attacks on petroleum facilities in Russia far from the border. Netanyahu announced military actions will continue in Palestine.

    From GERMANY- An interview with Aksel Sundstrom a political scientist at the University of Gothenburg and co-author of a book entitled “Youth Without Representation.” They discuss the fact that most leaders in the world are twice the age of the average citizen and how this alters their priorities. It is often said that age brings wisdom but clearly that is not always accurate- and most corporations are not led by people over 70. It has been noted that after a certain age politicians stop talking about the future.

    From FRANCE- At the G7 summit in France the leaders did not issue a joint comprehensive statement but did reaffirm some comments on Iran, Taiwan, and Ukraine. A professor from Kelo University commented on the G7 statement. Indian Prime Minister Modi agreed to strengthen ties with French President Macron and double bilateral trade. Modi also spoke with Trump about the three Indian crewmen murdered when the US military attacked a commercial NHK ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

    From JAPAN- An international press review on the agreement between the US and Iran. Ukraine launched the largest drone attack yet on Moscow, hitting stores, apartments, and another oil refinery creating severe pollution in the city- the NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte praised Ukraine for killing over 30,000 Russians per month.

    From CUBA- A Cuban delegation to the UN spoke out about eradicating global colonialism. The Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed gratitude to Colombia for a shipment of 100 tons of humanitarian aid. The US military did a strike inside Venezuela to kill an alleged gang leader while continuing to attack boats alleged to be transporting drugs in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. In Gaza Israel continues to carry out deadly attacks on Palestinians.

    From FRANCE- First, June 8th was World Ocean Day which was celebrated at the UN with the release of the third in a series of world ocean assessments- it pointed out the need to change course, to cease disrupting fragile ecosystems, and a warning that the Arctic could become ice free in the 2030s. Then three press reviews. First press on the 100 days of the US Israeli war on Iran. Press analysis on the Chinese Presidents visit to North Korea and an attempt to balance Russian influence. Press on the race riots in Belfast following the knife murder of a white irishman by a Sudanese immigrant- many black homes have been torched- Elon Musks anti-immigration agenda is discussed along with rapid rise in the hands of a few multi-billionaires.

    From JAPAN- The Japanese nuclear regulator released radiation levels across the Fukushima prefecture after 15 years- 30% of the area is still considered unsafe, though this will drop to 20% 15 years from now. The Japanese Defense Ministry is transported a missile launcher to their eastern most island in the Pacific, 2000 km SE from the main island. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute released their annual report on Monday, pointing out the nuclear armed countries have 12,000 nuclear weapons and a number of countries are expanding their stockpiles. Russian officials have criticized Britain, France, and Germany for their military support of Ukraine. 3 Indian crew members on a tanker in Hormuz were killed when the US military- the Indian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack. Pete Hegseth gave a speech at Guantanamo Prison, continuing the threats to Cuba.

    From CUBA- A ship arrived in Cuba with 1700 tons of food and other supplies from Mexico and Belize. Cuba mentioned the US propaganda radio station, Radio Marti, aimed at the Cuban island for 41 years. A Congressional research report said that the US military has lost 42 aircraft, worth $2.6 billion, during the first 40 days of the war on Iran. US activist Medea Benjamin claims that the US government is losing its mind with its war on Cuba.

    From FRANCE- First, three press reviews. The EU has decided the ship failed asylum seekers to detention centers outside of Europe, Rwanda, Uganda, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan have been proposed for the buildings. Canada will hold a referendum to decide if they should have a referendum on the possible secession of the province of Alberta. The Times had an article saying that Artificial Intelligence was being used in China to predict who might become a dissident in the future. Thousands of Albanians have been in the streets protesting a vast luxury real estate project backed by Jared Kushner that will destroy protected environments.

    From GERMANY- An excerpted interview with Sina Azodi, professor at the Eliot School of International affairs at George Washington University. The topic is the collapse of talks between the US and Iran. He says that Trump is under serious pressure from the right-wing of the Republican party, and that the Israeli war on Lebanon has complicated any serious ceasefire. He says that Israel wants to reshape the region into a greater Israel, and completely destroy Hezbollah. They discuss the hidden missiles in Iran and how inaccurate Trump and the Pentagon were when describing the strength of the Iranian military. Colombians voted in the first round of a crucial presidential election. This interview with Renata Segura of the International Crisis Group covers the three candidates who ran in the primary election- on June 21st there will be a runoff between left-wing Senator Ivan Cepeda and right-wing lawyer Alberdo de la Espriella.

    From CUBA- The US blockade of fuel to Cuba is creating food shortages and humanitarian aid- the UN presented a fuel traceability plan to the US which has not responded. Mexican President Sheinbaum has reaffirmed that Mexico continues to support Cuba with aid. The Israeli military continues attacking Lebanon despite truce agreements. Trump made a threatening phone call to Netanyahu that was reported widely in the international press. Israel continues to bomb Gaza. The Guatemalan president denied reports that he had agreed to allow the Trump administration to carry out military strikes in his country.
