My guest, Bobby Sanabria, is a 7 time Grammy nominee. He is noted drummer, percussionist, composer, arranger, conductor, producer, documentary filmmaker, bandleader...and most important to me, educator. He has played with some of the all time greats, including Dizzy Gillespie, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Randy Brecker, to named a few. He was named Percussionist of the Year in 2011 and 2013 by Jazz Journalist Association. He has a radio show in the New York area entitled, "Latin Jazz Cruise" on WBGO FM (wbgo.org). Simply a magnificent episode not to be missed!

A veteran award-winning actress known for her character work. Kim has shared the stage with phenomenal artists, including: Minnie Gentry, Bill Gunn, Roxie Roker, Phyllcia Rashad, Gylan Kain, Patricia O’Connell, Anthony Chisholm, Ellen Dolan, S. Epatha Merkinson, Charles Weldon, Barbara Montgomery, Reggie Montgomery, Marjorie Johnson, Count Stovall, Bill Cobbs, Dominique Morisseau and Darnell Williams. It is a great episode that evokes wonderful memories of being in the theater in New York City in the 70's forward. And you get to know who her famous father was!

Dr. Randall Maxey, MD, PhD is an experienced physician specializing in internal medicine, nephrology, and cardiovascular pharmacology offering 40+ years of clinical practice and clinical and bench research in developing health services for populations of color, including in the continental US, US territories, and the continent of Africa. He is the past President and Chairman of the Board of the National Medical Association (NMA), and the founder and CEO of the Black Health Trust, which provides credible health information regarding health disparities in COVID-19, provided by a panel of nationally recognized physician experts in over 20 specialties, which has a reach of over 10,000 viewers. He has extensive experience with developing and growing medical and healthcare membership organizations including the National Medical Association, NMA/AMA Commission to Eliminate Health Disparities which had over 54 national organizations. Dr. Maxey has made contributions to research regarding the prevention and treatment of renal failure, especially in cases complicated by cardiovascular disease.

A must hear, simply marvelous episode of two sisters, Catherine Thomas, Esq and Dr. Claudia Thomas, MD. Catherine Thomas was a Civil Rights and International Business attorney, who was involved in some of the important civil rights cases in America. She is now a realtor in the Maryland area. Her sister, the 1st Black women orthopedic surgeon in the United States, was one of the student leaders of the successful takeover of the Vasser College administration building in 1969. It led to the Board of Trustees acquiescing to the black students 9 demands without getting expelled. Her example and mentoring has lead to now over 100 Black women orthopedic surgeons now in the United States. It is a story of wonderful parenting at a time Black had to breakdown barriers to education... a testament of wonderful, courageous parents of the 50's and 60's. Just a great episode!

Just a great episode with the marvelous vocalist, producer, actor/director and Banana Puddin' Jazz impresario Rome Neal! He is a stable on the NYC jazz scene. He is know for his laid back jazz style as well as serving Banana pudding at his Banana Puddin" Jazz series beginning in 2003 at the legendary Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in NYC, which he is also Chairman of the Board. Under his leadership they are currently undergoing a $50 million renovation... what a legacy!
