  • New Balance have dominated the space recently and used their 2025 Grey Day to remind us about just how far they’ve come since the day’s inception in 2018. In a visual campaign executive produced by ex-New Balance Joe Grondin and free agency, they flexed their muscles, giving us a glimpse of some of the talent on their roster including Amine, Storm Reid, Sainte and more! But could they be acting too grey in their approach or are customers and critics just looking for unnecessary theatrics in what is simply a celebration of what the brand has always been about?

Bolu and Eman also catch up with Michael about his first trip to New York, and talk about the food, the people, the culture and the Corteiz x Nike Honey Black Takeover! It’s good to be back!!

  • Here in TheStockroom we make a point of celebrating the milestones of people and products and the Air Max 95 is certainly a product worth celebrating. This shoe managed to cut through the noise and settle in London and wider regions of the UK as a staple that stood head and shoulders above the rest. Recently, it was announced that Corteiz are releasing a 4th colour way in addition to their already impressive triple pack of Air Max 95, and the game has barely recovered from the sheer impact of that release as it took the world by storm! But that has lead Bolu, Eman and Michael to a controversial question... is the Corteiz Air Max 95 the most impactful collab done on the silhouette? • In the last year we’ve seen major shifts in the footwear market with brands like New Balance and Adidas taking strides forward and Nike have seemingly been taking steps back. This year it looks like there may be another shift in the works as it has emerged that the running market is projected to make $14.2 Billion in 2025.

TheStockroom delves into the figures behind the brands 2024 annual revenue, performances, what may have caused these financial shifts, the importance of the £70 - £100 market for brands and how the crossover between running and lifestyle could create major profit gains within the next 5 years for these brands.

Bolu, Eman and Michael also discuss how Nike’s recent partnership with Kim Kardashian’s clothing brand SKIMS and if this could create a new avenue for Nike to dominate the market.

  • All Star Weekend & Valentines's Day is a dream combination for brands and they definitely showed out, ahead of it A Ja Wilson released her debut shoe with Nike in the form of the A'One in an eye catching shade of pink. Despite the festivities taking place overseas TheStockroom had to keep an eye on what was going on across the pond! Curry Brand took home court advantage with Steph launching player exclusives with Under Amour as well as a Stone Island collab! Jordan brand showed out for their 40th anniversary with multiple activations including pre-releasing 10 different silhouttes including the Air Jordan 4 SB Navy and the Rare Air's as well as Wale pulling up to the function in multiple pairs of the Nike GT Future.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander flexed his recent position as Creative Director of Converse Basketball and launched the Shai 001 ahead of the All Star Game. Adidas didn't let this weekend go by either launching new colours with James Harden and a brand new silhoutte with lifetime athlete Damian Lillard, the Dame X. And as if that wasn't enough, Puma Hoops, ANTA Footwear, New Balance and more all got involved in showing off their latest products! JFG took things away from the Bay and celebrated 5 years, 10 projects and 20 shoes with New Balance with his New Balance 992 'Aged Well', complete with a mini doc where he and others discuss his journey thus far.

But the question, Bolu, Eman and Michael have on their mind is, with all these ads, and this is just for footwear, not even considering the other ads like food, cars, tech etc, is the commercialisation of these huge sporting events, ruining this for people who just want to enjoy the game? And what's all the commotion surrounding the stock number of the Air Jordan 1 Bred 85's?

  • In today's episode of TheStockroom we speak to Cherise AKA Dripeisha a multi-disciplinary artist and founder of SEKANI. Having worked with the likes of Netflix, Nike, Clarks etc. and several artists across her disciplines such as rug making, creative direction and photography, Cherise is becoming a household name and if you haven't heard of her yet you will soon!

Bolu, Eman and Michael also touch on the importance of Cherise's heritage in how she carries herself today and the pressures that come with being a creative, as we dive into issues such as imposter syndrome and how that can hinder a creatives journey.

We apologise for the audio issues in this episode as Michael's microphone didn't pick him up properly, but we hope you can still enjoy it all the same!
