  • Why do so many corporate professionals feel addicted to their phones, social media, scrolling, gaming, or constant distraction during stressful work days?

In this episode of Wave Work Stress Goodbye, work stress and anxiety coach Luke Richardson explores the deeper connection between work stress, smartphone addiction, dopamine chasing, and emotional overwhelm in modern corporate life.

Luke shares his own personal experience of being addicted to his PlayStation from the age of 10 and how technology became a way to escape uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. From endless scrolling and checking notifications to constantly reaching for distractions during stressful moments at work, this episode uncovers what’s really going on beneath these habits.

But what if phone addiction and technology addiction aren’t actually caused by the devices themselves?

What if the real issue is our misunderstanding of how human experience is created?

    In this conversation, you’ll discover:

Why work stress often fuels phone addiction and compulsive scrolling

The hidden psychology behind smartphone addiction in corporate professionals

Why trying to “control” or fight your habits can sometimes make them worse

How thoughts and feelings drive addictive behaviour more than technology itself

Why you don’t need endless self-help methods, productivity hacks, or willpower to feel free

How understanding the mind can naturally reduce stress, distraction, and emotional dependence on your phone

How to feel calmer, more focused, happier, and more present at work and in life

If you struggle with work anxiety, burnout, overthinking, social media addiction, doomscrolling, people pleasing, or constantly needing distraction to cope with stress, this episode offers a completely different perspective that could help you feel lighter and more in control naturally.

  • In this episode of Wave Work Stress Goodbye, we explore one of the hardest but most freeing insights around workplace stress, toxic colleagues, office anxiety and difficult people at work.

What if the stress we feel around certain coworkers isn’t actually coming from them?

For years I believed toxic work colleagues were the direct cause of my frustration, anxiety and negative moods at work. But the deeper I looked, the more I began to realise something uncomfortable but incredibly powerful:

Different people can experience the exact same person completely differently.

One employee thinks a colleague is supportive and funny.
Another thinks they’re arrogant, rude and impossible to work with.

So where is the stressful experience really coming from?

In this episode, I share the inside-out understanding behind workplace stress, overthinking and emotional resilience — and why seeing the role of thought can completely transform how we experience difficult coworkers, office politics and stressful work environments.

    If you struggle with:

toxic coworkersworkplace anxietyoffice stressdifficult managersoverthinking at workemotional exhaustioncorporate burnoutnegative work environments

…this conversation may completely change how you see your experience.

  • How to Lead with Influence (Without Stress) — Building Stronger Relationships Through Clear Thinking in Corporate Roles

What if better leadership wasn’t about doing more… but about thinking more clearly?

In this episode of Wave Work Stress Goodbye, we explore how leaders — from team leaders to CEOs — can create stronger, more effective relationships with their teams by understanding the impact of pressure and overthinking.

    Because the truth is:

👉 When your thinking is cluttered, your relationships suffer

  • Do you feel pressure at work even when you’re doing well?

If you’re a high-performing professional in a corporate role, you might recognise this:

overthinking decisionssecond-guessing yourselffeeling anxious before meetings, deadlines or performance reviewsstruggling to switch off after work

In this episode, we explore why high performer anxiety is so common — and why traditional advice like time management, productivity hacks, or “thinking more positively” often doesn’t solve it.

Instead, we look at something deeper:

👉 Where your experience of pressure and anxiety is actually coming from
👉 Why your ability to think clearly disappears under pressure
👉 How clarity returns naturally when you understand what’s really going on

This isn’t about managing stress better.

It’s about seeing something new — so you can:

  • In this episode of Wave Work Stress Goodbye, I sit down with British author Sacha Hughes to explore why work can sometimes feel meaningless — even when everything on the surface looks “fine.”

Sacha shares her experience of spending 10 years in the corporate world, and how that period of her life shaped both her perspective and her writing. We talk openly about the pressures of corporate life, the emotional impact of grief, and how our experience of work (and life) isn’t always coming from where we think it is.

This is a conversation that goes beyond surface-level stress management. Together, we explore a deeper understanding of where feelings like pressure, anxiety and overwhelm are really coming from — and what begins to change when we start to see that more clearly.

I particularly enjoyed hearing how Sacha reflects on her past experiences, and how her understanding has evolved over time. It’s a powerful reminder that even in the same circumstances, our experience can shift dramatically depending on what’s happening internally.

Sacha’s new book, Love, Grief and More Sex Than Pinot, released on 16th April 2026, is now available on Amazon. It’s been described as a cross between Bridget Jones and Fleabag, blending humour, honesty and real-life experiences. Following the life experiences of main character Soho Summers after the death of her mother.

  • In this episode, I’m joined by transformational coach and Three Principles practitioner Jenn Westra for a deep and insightful conversation on the nature of work stress, overthinking, and where our experience is truly coming from.

Jenn has spent over seven years working closely with George Pransky and Linda Pransky, developing a grounded understanding of the Three Principles—Mind, Thought, and Consciousness—and how they shape our everyday experience.

    Together, we explore:

Why so many high performers feel stuck in cycles of overthinking and pressureThe inside-out understanding of stress and how experience is created from withinHow clarity, ease, and connection naturally emerge when the mind settlesWhy traditional strategies for managing stress often fall shortWhat becomes possible when we see beyond thought-created limitations

Jenn shares a refreshingly simple yet profound perspective that moves beyond techniques and into a deeper understanding of how the mind works. This conversation is especially valuable for leaders, professionals, and anyone navigating stress, emotional patterns, or relationship challenges.

If you’ve ever felt caught in your thinking or wondered why success doesn’t always bring the clarity you expected, this episode offers a powerful new way of seeing.

  • Bonus Episode

This is a short bonus episode taken from one of my recent videos on YouTube, where I explore an important question:

Why does work stress feel so real, and where does it actually come from?

Many professionals believe their stress is being caused by workloads, deadlines, leadership pressure or difficult workplace situations. But what if our experience of stress is actually being created somewhere else entirely?

I share a different perspective on work stress and anxiety at work, and why understanding where our experience is really coming from can help bring more clarity, resilience and wellbeing in demanding roles.

If you often find yourself overthinking work, feeling pressure in leadership positions, or struggling to switch off at the end of the day, this episode may offer a helpful insight.

Behind successful careers and executive titles, many women leaders quietly navigate work stress, performance pressure, responsibility, and the expectation to balance everything perfectly.

But where does this pressure actually come from?

In this episode, I explore the experience of executive stress, leadership pressure, and career expectations through the lens of the Inside-Out understanding — a powerful insight into how our moment-to-moment experience of work is created.
