Folks, we interrupt our regularly scheduled Sign o' the Times Super Deluxe breakdown to talk with Prince's longtime sound engineer Scottie Baldwin! Scottie worked with Prince for more than twenty years, as well as artists like Madonna and Stevie Wonder. He sits down for a wide-ranging conversation with the fellas about what he learned from Prince, the challenges and joys of working with him, what makes a great-sounding concert venue and his work on the One Night Alone...Live! box set, along with, of course, his Top Five.
This was a great conversation and we were thrilled to have Scottie on as a guest! Enjoy!

Join Ed as he chats with Prince super fan Rick Dilwood. Rick saw the music video for "7" on VH1 in the early 90s and never looked back. Having started his fandom with the Love Symbol Album, he has a lot of love for the NPG, but eventually learned to love the Revolution just as much. There's always at least one Prince book on Rick's nightstand and he regularly dreams of going into a music store to discover a newly released album. When Rick isn't listening to Prince, he's producing videos for a hospital in North Carolina and playing Mario Party with his seven-year-old daughter. A great fun chat with a great Prince fan! Enjoy!

Folks-- it's a big one today.
Jared and Ed are thrilled to talk with Andrea Swensson, author of Prince & Purple Rain: 40 Years, the gorgeous coffee table book that came out this year. Andrea is also the host of the official podcast and the founder of Slingshot Annie Records, dedicated to preserving the Minneapolis sound.
Andrea was amazingly generous with her time and it makes for a fascinating conversation about Prince, his legacy, working on the book, what it takes to get a record label put together and many other things, including, of course, her top five.
This is a special conversation and we're excited to share it with you.Support the show
