  • Stephen Grey is a Nutrition Consultant, S&C coach and Crossfit level 1 coach who has been on an interesting journey. He recently touched down in Kilkenny after 12 years in Edinburgh studying and working in the health science industry. After completing his Undergrad in Sports and Exercise Stephen went on to study a masters in Public Health Nutrition.

Stephen past worked as a rugby video analyst for the Scottish Rugby Union age grade teams for 5 years. During that time he also coached in the Edinburgh Rugby regional set up and in his school George Heriots. Currently he is in Kilkenny College, overseeing strength and conditioning for all sports in the school as well as acting as head of nutrition.

The reason I asked Stephen to come on is because of his experience working with age grade teams. I have cousins on production lines in various sports (soccer, rugby, GAA) and I'm very interested in the development of young athletes in Ireland, following their progression right through to senior ranks.

Stephen gets into the absolute basics for anyone looking to turn their eating habits around, from simply cutting out as much sugar as possible and processed foods, eating bright vibrant colours and also the importance of hydration. Stephen also talks about being grateful for his parents for showing him how to prep meals from a young age through to college and also gives you some tips on what meal prep entails.

You can check out Stephen and his cousin Nicola's new venture online at www.nicolagray.com or at 'Grays food and fitness' on social media and go get some great ideas for healthy eating and easy to do recipes!
