“So I grew up with a lot of inequality and that's kind of what really broke my heart growing up, and I had heard this metaphor when I was working as a rape crisis counselor, which was a metaphor of going upstream to the root causes and the metaphor comes from public health and it's a metaphor to not just help people in the crisis moment, but to go upstream and to figure out, why do, why does crisis happen.”
