Somewhere between work, caretaking, and just trying to make it through the week without losing your mind, friendship starts to feel... complicated, or like another to do? Not because we don’t want connection — but because life is loud, we’re overwhelmed or tired or trying to make it through the day. And do you feel like there's a constant time deficit?
This is an episode that is more like a journal entry where I share some of my latest life outtakes and friendship moments, how a soul-nourishing weekend with a long time friend reminded me of what really matters — and how sharing our mess can bring us even closer. Vulnerability can feel scary, awkward, but also wildly freeing. I also open up about navigating anxiety, burnout, and that dreaded “time scarcity” that seems to hit especially hard after 40.
And if you’re also feeling off physically — low energy or just not yourself — I mention my amazing friend and health coach, Olya Clark, who helped me customize a plan to support my hormones and minerals and lifestyle. Seriously, she's a godsend. Connect with her at www.olyaclark.com
You’re not alone. Promise.

This is an episode for you if you’ve been laid off or are feeling stuck and want work that feels more aligned and on purpose for you! This is an invitation to rethink and reimagine what other possibilities can exist for you.
We all come to a point in our career where we either are forced to or deeply desire to reinvent our career and it takes a lot of courage to ask the questions, look deeper, and dig for new direction options and answers. No story is the same and it’s hard when no one can give you an exact ready made answer. The steps you’ll hear shared in this episode are designed to get you closer to your unique answers, the key will be devoting a little bit of time and attention to go through them. So let’s go, here’s a plan broken down into days:
Day 1
Design a vision for your future work and career. Just like companies devote the time to craft their future vision and future of work projects, do it for yourself!
Day 2
Think about and write down everything you devote your free time to, what topics do you watch YouTube, TikTok or IG videos and posts about, what do you research online, what do you read books about, what do you do in your free time, what do you talk to your friends about, everything counts and nothing is too silly to make the list.
Day 3
Write down what your ideal work day/week looks like. Where do you want to work, with who, what hours, who are your clients, wake up to sleep - what are you doing?
Day 4
What do you know you no longer care to do? What do you want to rebel against?
What do you actually DO want to do?
Day 5
Ask 3-5 people who know you well - close friends, people who have been mentors or have worked with you in a meaningful capacity. What do they think are your strengths, what would they come to you for, what do they see as a good work option for you?
Sometimes we’re just too close to see it clearly ourselves.

Day 6
Get clear on your natural strengths, what are the strongest functions of how your mind naturally sees, engages with, and interacts with the world, the day to day events, information and people. What are your strongest filters of how you wake up and see the world?
Here’s a past episode example of select personality aspect and strength analysis:

This is a mini story reflecting on my friend's visit, the choices and priorities that come up, "mess up" our schedule and force us to stay agile and adaptable instead of rigid. This isn't specific advice, just something that forced me to play in the messiness of my own feelings if anxiety, to do's, values and made me see real time how I can be both in the state of my mind running a long to do list and feeling unsettled while connecting to the deeper stillness within. It reminded me of a beautiful saying from a past guest Lunaria Gaia "There's a part of us deep within us that is still and unperturbed by what's happening on the surface". Here's a link to the full conversation, I think you'd enjoy it! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/career-in-technicolor/id1584835608?i=1000668461261
How do you approach interruptions and "deviations" from your schedule and to do's - are you flexible or do you need to stay on track unless it's an emergency? I have varied between both ends of the spectrum and still adjust it day to day. Come play with me on IG www.instagram.com/careerintechnicolor
I'd love to hear from you! Xo, Baiba

Today you'll hear an overview of someone's top strengths and how they translate into career direction when combined. The first strength involves an innate ability to perceive time dynamically, intuit events, and think from a broader perspective, and the second relates to a powerful skill of connecting with people, emotional states, and creating desired atmospheres in interactions. I share how this combination translates into career direction and potential options. What resonated most with you from this conversation? DM me on IG www.instagram.com/careerintechnicolor

Today we’re talking to business coach Brenda Rigney and her journey to helping women start their own businesses! You'll hear about balancing work, parenthood, transitioning from 9-5 to building your own biz, following someone else's career recipe and checklist, setting boundaries, being a leader, mother, getting clear on your own vision, values, your goals and responsibilities, feeling good about yourself, getting aligned in all areas of your life , burn out, questioning everything, what it really takes to self actualize, and so much more! Here’s a quick snapshot of Brenda's story!
“It took me 27 years of developing multi-million-dollar brands and CEOs—and one earth-shaking divorce—to finally go down that road.
I had to reset everything—starting with my health, that foreign word “boundaries,” and my vision for my own life—if I wanted to build a business that wasn’t just a repeat of the misaligned life I was so desperate to leave behind.
Since then, I’ve coached hundreds of successful women in their 40s, 50s, and older to help them do the same. Because the thing I'm 100% sure about is that the world needs way more successful, innovative, and unstoppable women in business.
I now work with midlife women business owners and emerging entrepreneurs to help them bring in $10K+ months doing what they love in one-to-one and group coaching experiences, and in my Aligned AF Community Membership."
